Hi Charles --

Just to make sure I hadn’t forgotten, I check my photos.   The ng trains ran 
on the east side of the ROW, the inner rail being offset to the west.

My current SLE&P uses coupler cars to let the various motive power shunt the 
different gauges, but there are places that only one gauge can play.   If 
you look in the SLE&P photo album in this group (third page from the end of 
the list), you will see there is plenty of opportunity to play the gauges.

Think of the fun you could have modeling the dual gauge from Alamosa to 
Antonito!  Lots of switching, std. gauge engines with n.g. cars and vice 
versa!  Now let's see, was that third rail on the east side or the west....?
