Bob,
I have one that works on my mainline. I had a nasty little vertical curve on
an entrance to a curve that a few of my cars would not take every time. I
installed a short guard rail on the inside rail at the trouble spot and cured
the problem. I have since corrected the vertical curve, but it does/did work.
