It has baffled me that there seems to be a prevailing opinion that the code 88
and 110 wheels are the same except for tire width. If this is true, either the
88 or 110 wheels don't adhere to RP25, which doesn't seem likely (or
desirable--why do we have recommended practicves in the first place?).

Notice that the flange depth difference between code110 and code 88 is
only .002; and the flange width difference is only .005. So that the
BB with code 88 wheels should be apx .005" more than with code 110
wheels.
