No question: Frank from those AF Atlantic shells, plastic pipe, and beer cans, Frank Titman created some masterpieces. Wonder what he used from the frame and drivers for those locos.

And yes, for Reading locos he normally used the AF model for the Wooten firebox, cab and tender. Sometimes he also used part of the boiler. I've seen several of them under construction, and as Jamie implied, his main source of sheet metal was empty beer cans. Many times the main boiler was a piece of plastic pipe if he could find one that was close in diameter. So some of his locos were part AF, part plastic pipe and part beer can, with various commercial and homemade detail parts added and everything sprayed with Floquil Grimy Black paint in his paint booth which was a cardboard box (not vented). Frames were usually made of brass with SSL&S drivers. Sometimes he used two AF tenders to make a longer one.
