Jonathan,
Your thinking that if Lionel were to produce a scale model (or at least one
with scale wheels), it would be a good thing for S is correct IMO. But what I
think you've run into here is that for most scale S scalers, the idea of Lionel
as a potential source for scale models is a really alien and remote concept.
Hence, the skepticism (and even negativity) toward Lionel, which I don't think
has been really directed at you or your opinion.
