I had to cut down on my magazine subscriptions, and MR was one to go. I hated
to do it, because I have had a working relationship of sorts with them over the
years, but much of their "trade journalism" tends to project model railroading
as a full time occupation requiring a university education.

Maybe it does, since few of the up and coming "successful" model railroads
(i.e. "published") seem to be built by the average "Joe Six-Pack" crowd, or
lone wolf operators anymore. At any rate, I do not have much "official" higher
learning and prefer to run trains rather than do a daily battle with DCC
control systems, etc.

As of now, my publications fix is centered around NASG Dispatch, 1/64 Modeling
Guide (in spite of its "spit and sputter" publication schedule), and NMRA
Bulletin. With MT gone, I may consider adding S Gaugian to the list. I had to
chop it a few years ago, and do miss its content.
