Something's sticking in my Craw again! Just when I thought we were making headway in the national magazines I received my December 2011 Model Railroader magazine and read Senior Editor, Jim Hediger's column on "Welcoming New Model Railroaders" to the hobby. (The what not's and to dos for our hobby.) Right on the top of Jim's column are thee beautiful Locomotives in O Scale, HO Scale and N Scale. Worse is, that is all he writes about in his advice to his proposed newbie's to our hobbies, O - HO and N scale. Ouch! Perhaps Jim is having a Senior moment? While I know we in S Gauge are in a minority scale, I propose that all those in the S gauge model railroading market represent a pretty big number of subscribers to Model Railroader and to the industry in general, even Lionel wants to get in on the S gauge market. When my renewal come up in May 2012, I may switch to another monthly model railroad magazine, one who treats modelers in minority scales better than Model Railroaders does.
