I have to agree with Rich and Roger. While the magazine has certainly changed a lot from the good-old-days, MR continues to publish ground-breaking articles on various topics. I doubt you will see a 15 part series on scratch building a locomotive in brass ever again, but scenery and operations topics are often well covered by authors like Paul Dolkos and Bill Darnaby. That doesn't prevent MR-bashing from being popular in many internet groups. I guess in my case I see myself as a modeler railroader who happens to work in S scale, so rare is the article that doesn't have some use to it. That said, I don't subscribe to either MR or RMC, but buy them when I see an article of particular interest. It sees to come out about even the past couple of years.
I certainly hope everyone who is so unhappy with MR is s subscriber to Bob Nalbone's S magazine. That's all S content, every issue... Pieter E.
