The first page people look at should "knock their socks off", then link them to 
the pages containing the rest of the information.

Maybe the first page has two large photos, linked to the subsections of Scale 
and Flyer.

I'm sure most of us could handle a flyer image IF it was of the quality shown 
below:

Those are photos by photographer Michael Paul Smith, who has been mentioned 
here before, commissioned by Lionel for their 'O' 3-rail trains. A similar 
quality image of Flyer equipment would be a fine gateway IMO, without 
detracting from the scale side (assuming a similar quality image was used for 
the scale link).
