Revisiting this old thread with another thought... I have to ask if this (below) means that S scalers (in general) should be willing to settle for shorter cars (and trains) because of the space they require? If this is the case, then how is it that people see S scale as the perfect scale? I see this as a HUGE negative. I don't want to be limited to modeling shortlines and early-era cars and locos... and not everyone is as limited for space as the next person.
