While I think I understand your point, Mullet River doesn't do resin kits but
rather laser-cut wood with some etched and cast brass details. Andthey do some
S scale, although whether from an exclusive contract with Des Plaines or merely
the choice of the owner to make it exclusive,DPH is the only outlet for them.If
you are talking about Smoky Mountain kits, you are correct, that they are as
nice as just about any O scale craftsman kit and the price is comparableor even
better (Kaslo is more problematic, as I understand there is some question
whether they are currently producing) than urethane O scale kitsby Chooch.
Older Northeastern kits are still state of the art for wood (non-laser) freight
cars--sad that they are long gone (I have some Amity reissues, which while
acceptable are not QUITE so nice)--one can still find plenty of O scale kits to
scratch that urge, S scale being scarcer.

I still follow what's going on in O and see your work often. So just out of
curiosity, what's the attraction in S for you? It can't be the cost because
you know very well about the cost differential without the ebay search. I'll
tell you one thing, it will be a long time before you see a $135 resin flat kit
in S like the Mullet River offerings. And they're not the only ones. Qaulity
S kits are far cheaper than quality O kits. That's what we should be focusing
on.
