Earl, you have it exactly right. The "S" denotes 1/64 scale, the "n" a gauge 
narrower than standard, and "2" for the track gauge.

Similarly HOn3, On2, etc.

I wonder if there is anyone who models in Sw5 or Sw6 -- something like the 
early Erie wide gauge, or the 5-footers that were common in the South at the 
time of the Civil War.
