Maybe if LF did one of the 3 different "Aero" trains we could run those around
small circles, real fast, or put trolley poles on them. We could have fun at
train shows for the kids.
(The Cuyahoga Valley S Gaugers have a true Flyer layout at about a 2 foot
level. The kids love it. That is what its for.)

I rode all 3 versions, The Rock Island seemed to be the smoothest , from Peoria
to to Chicago. NYC the worst.

As to starting in S I have never owned a Flyer loco. I started with Cleveland
Models paper and wood. Chopped up a gon or 2.

Could not stand that crude track. NEVER owned Lionel either. I started model
railroading in scale. Have had N, OO, O, TT, LGB. and 1 ft = 1 ft.
Almost did live steam.
Any of you ever pump an old hand car?

What kind of couplers would you use on a Thomas the Train.

I'm glad to see lionel testing the scale market. Enough has already been said
on the pro's and con's, so I'm not going to add anything there. Only to say, If
that N+W 2-8-8-2 had scale wheels, I'd get one for sure! The rest is just too
modern for me, as I stop at 1955. If down the road, they come out with some
earlier stuff (especially PRR or N+W prototype hoppers H21, GLa, H2a, hint,
hint,) I'll bite!

Are you kidding me? My ONLY point has been WHY can't Lionel have just prepared
their model for this option from the start the way SHS did?

huge hole for them to swing if body mounted. Three rail O models use the same
method. It's a compromise that allows larger scale trains to run on tighter
curves. The alternative is to not sell as many large scale trains. Remember
guys buying toy trains increase the chances of more useful things being made in
S scale. Buildings, vehicles, figures, and details of all kinds are a benefit of
more modelers in the scale no matter what radius curves they run....DaveBranum
