So you're telling me that I have to pay how much? for one of these new Lionel models, and that I have to turn right around and drill holes in it?!? Are you kidding me? My ONLY point has been WHY can't Lionel have just prepared their model for this option from the start the way SHS did?
Can ANYONE please tell me why it is so wrong for me to ask that and/or to express my disappointment that they did not do so? I've already figured out how to attach those roving pilots, Lionel made it easy. Of course if you have never bothered to inspect the U33 you wouldn't know that. It will take drilling 4 holes, nicely pre-located on the model, and crafting an approximate 0.030" spacer. Quite honestly they don't bother me as much as I expected in operation on the DPV layout's 48" curves, but the opportunity is there.
