Very useful info.

I noticed in the photo that you have some joint bars on the turnout. Do you have any of those on the inside of the rail? I use code 83 rail and I have bought matching joint bars, but they are way too big and get hit by the flange of the equipment. I've thought of using code 70 joint bars instead, but have not bought those yet. Maybe if I would switch to proto:64 wheels I won't have that problem, but that opens up a whole other can of worms...

Since I am currently building the turnouts for my Shops engine terminal, I have my inventory of various spikes laid out, so I took some measurements with my calipers:
