Tin plate came around and then cast(plastic) to where we are now. and now how many scales do we have that cater to space available for a layout. Look at N guage and now Z guage. Z guage is made by Micro-trains( N). and that market (Z) is changing from mostly Steam to now offer diesel locos. Alan Lambert
