I think "collecting" die cast trucks is not the same hobby as 
"modeling/building" die cast trucks.  Same analogy as "running" toy trains vs. 
"building/modeling" authentic scale models.  Collectors far outnumber builders 
in any hobby.  Collecting is easier to do with less frustration.  With a 
different kind of emotional reward system as well.
