I don't see what you mean. The sources of an spkg are not supposed to be
in the sage tree. Executables built by an spkg are supposed to be in
SAGE_ROOT/local/bin, extension modules in SAGE_ROOT/local/bin/python2.6
/site-packages/, and local data (e.g., data bases) in a subfolder of
SAGE_ROOT/local, whose name is given by the name of the extension module
(here: pGroupCohomology). And of course, when you install the package,
then you get a copy of the (unpacked) spkg in SAGE_ROOT/spkg/optional/.
So, I don't think that I make anything different from any other spkg in
that regard.
