As requested I updated the doctest changes in the patch.
I tested all recent numpy and scipy versions on ubuntu 10.04, and they
built without problems on sage-4.6.alpha3 and all doctests passed with the
updated patch.
Hope that all bugs in numpy are killed soon. I think the whole ticket here
contributed quite a bit to numpy and scipy.
