Concerning gfan: Why is Singular not built with gfan? During configuration
of the Singular spkg, it says:

checking whether to configure and build omalloc... yes
checking whether to configure and build gfan lib... no
checking size of long... 8
...
checking which apint package to use... gmp
checking gfanlib... can not build with gfan lib
checking whether to use libsvd... no
}}}
Just out of curiosity (I was grepping for gfan in the install.log).
