By the way: It seems that building Sage with gcc from the sources you
provided did work. Sage is now building the reference manual. In
particular, the gfan spkg did not complain, even though the gcc spkg has
put stuff into lib64. That was a single thread, without CFLAGS and without
`CLooG-PPL`.
Next, I'll try parallel build.
