I saw a TV special on this demolition, apparently owned and bossed by a lady demolition expert. This crew has pictures or drawings of every beam in the building, and this is vital information to CONFIRM that it was the feds themselves who blew up the building. ALL infor- mation, including the conspicious absense of BATF and IBM agents from the building that day, leads to this conclusion. The red dot surrounded by circles shows the location of the truck bomb. 2. The force of an explosion (pounds per square inch) diminishes drastically as it moves through air. By the time it reaches column B-3, in the second tier of columns, it is only 27 pounds per square inch. 3. Column B-3 was entirely taken out while the column next to it B-4 which would have received slightly more force was untouched. 4. Columns A-3, A-5, and A-7 were collapsed at the 3rd floor level. Columns A-4, A-6, and A-8 were collapsed by the odd number columns adjacent to them. Note that Column A-7 is well out of the area of main blast force. 5. These results are entirely consistent with demolition charges going off on B-3, A-3, A-5, and A-7. The size of the explosives needed would be minimal if there were attached directly to the columns. 6. Several experienced demolition experts, physicists and munitions experts agree with Partin that there is no way this damage could have been done by the truck bomb alone. None of these were permitted to be witnesses on the McVeigh or Nichols trial. The only munitions expert allowed to testify was from the UK and her testimony did not address Partin's thesis. 7. [CTRL] Little brother
-Caveat Lector- http://www.bigbrother.net/ There is a product available via the Internet today with the explicit intention of violating your privacy. They are so blatant about this fact that they actually call the product Little Brother. In the interests of evaluating the capabilities of this evil software, I downloaded a copy and ran it on a local network. The results, to say the least, disturbed me. Before we get into that though, I'd like to explain a little bit about what Little Brother is, what it does, and how it does it (at least as much as I can figure out), and how to beat it. What it does... Little brother was designed by Kansmen corporation to help CIS managers monitor the use of their networks. It analyzes the network packets (TCP/IP, IPX, and Apple Talk) sent by computers on the local network, and identifies what kind of information is in them and where the packets are going. It is not only capable of differentiating between FTP, Usenet, and Web transactions, but it can also track the kind of information inside the packets. For example, if you were to visit playboy.com, it can determine that you are viewing pornography, or if you went to microsoft, it knows you are looking at technology related information. The person that is running the Little Brother software can then choose to rate whether they think a particular type of activity is productive, unproductive, or neutral. In the registered version of the software you can even set up Little Brother to block sites based on these categorizations. How it does it... I don't have specifics on how Little Brother works, but it appears to operate like CyberSitter and similar products. It has a database of sites which are categorized by the type of content as well as a keyword search of the incoming information. In addition to this, it is possible for the administrator of Little Brother to add sites to the database. The Little Brother administrator can then go through and generate reports about who is accessing what information, and how often they do it. These reports can be very general, showing all users and sites ranked by the amount of time or bandwidth used, or it can be very specific. Little Brother will let the Administrator generate a usage log for a specific user, listing every web site, ftp site, and usenet group that they have visited while Little Brother is running. As I said before, the registered version allows Little Brother to block accesses to sites. Since I wasn't willing to support this evilness by paying money into it, I have not seen how this system works. What's bizarre about it, is that the program can run on ANY machine in the network and have this capability; it does not have to sit on the firewall or anything like that. If you have any idea as to how this system works, please mail us, and let us know. Update: I recently received an e-mail from a representative from Kansmen Corporation. He did not tell me specifically how the software works but he said that it used features of TCP/IP published in the related RFC. How to beat it! Little Brother is only capable of tracking between a local network machine, and its immediate destination outside the network. This means that if you connect through a proxy server outside of your local network, you should be okay. There are a several sites that provide anonymous proxying, and this will prevent Little Brother from getting any information on what you look at. All Little Brother would see is a connection from your machine to the proxy server. Beyond that, Little Brother wouldn't have a clue. If you are going to use your local network to do anything questionable, then Little Brother will be able to see it. There is very little you can do to protect yourself from Little Brother on your local network, but once you get outside, there is protection. Is Little Brother watching you? Unless the Little Brother administrator is blocking sites, you probably won't have any idea that you are being monitored. Since the software can be downloaded for free (for 30 days), this means that anybody in your network could be monitoring what you are doing (at least for 30 days). Does Bob across the hall know that you like reading alt.sex.bondage? Does your boss know that you are looking for a new job? Do you think that they would tell you if they were watching you? McFadden of Pennsylvania. Mr. McFadden, due to his having served as Chairman of the Banking and Currency Committee for more than 10 years, was the best posted man on these matters in America and was in a position to speak with authority of the vast ramifications of this gigantic private credit monopoly. As Representative of a State which was among the first to declare its freedom from foreign money tyrants it is fitting that Pennsylvania, the cradle of liberty, be again given the credit for producing a son that was not afraid to hurl defiance in the face of the money-bund. Whereas Mr. McFadden was elected to the high office on both the Democratic and Republican tickets, there can be no accusation of partisanship lodged against him. Because these speeches are set out in full in the Congressional Record, they carry weight that no amount of condemnation on the part of private individuals could hope to carry. The Federal Reserve-A Corrupt Institution "Mr. Chairman, we have in this Country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks, hereinafter called the Fed. The Fed has cheated the Government of these United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the Nation's debt. The depredations and iniquities of the Fed has cost enough money to pay the National debt several times over. "This evil institution has impoverished and ruined the people of these United States, has bankrupted itself, and has practically bankrupted our Government. It has done this through the defects of the law under which it operates, through the maladministration of that law by the Fed and through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it. "Some people who think that the Federal Reserve Banks United States Government institutions. They are private monopolies which prey upon the people of these United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers; foreign and domestic speculators and swindlers; and rich and predatory money lender. In that dark crew of financial pirates there are those who would cut a man's throat to get a dollar out of his pocket; there are those who send money into states to buy votes to control our legislatures; there are those who maintain International propaganda for the purpose of deceiving us into granting of new concessions which will permit them to cover up their past misdeeds and set again in motion their gigantic train of crime. "These twelve private credit monopolies were deceitfully and disloyally foisted upon this Country by the bankers who came here from Europe and repaid us our hospitality by undermining our American institutions. Those bankers took money out of this Country to finance Japan in a war against Russia. They created a reign of terror in Russia with our money in order to help that war along. They instigated the separate peace between Germany and Russia, and thus drove a wedge between the allies in World War. They financed Trotsky's passage from New York to Russia so that he might assist in the destruction of the Russian Empire. They fomented and instigated the Russian Revolution, and placed a large fund of American dollars at Trotsky's disposal in one of their branch banks in Sweden so that through him Russian homes might be thoroughly broken up and Russian children flung far and wide from their natural protectors. They have since begun breaking up of American homes and the dispersal of American children. We are trustees of the people and the rights of the people are being taken away from them. Through the Fed the people are losing the rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Their property has been taken from them without due process of law. Mr. Chairman, common decency requires us to examine the public accounts of the Government and see what crimes against the public welfare have been committed. "What is needed here is a return to the Constitution of these United States. "The old struggle that was fought out here in Jackson's time must be fought our over again. The independent United States Treasury should be reestablished and the Government should keep its own money under lock and key in the building the people provided for that purpose. "Asset currency, the devise of the swindler, should be done away with. The Fed should be abolished and the State boundaries should be respected. Bank reserves should be kept within the boundaries of the States whose people own them, and this reserve money of the people should be protected so that the International Bankers and acceptance bankers and discount dealers cannot draw it away from them. "The Fed should be repealed, and the Fed Banks, having violated their charters, should be liquidated immediately. Faithless Government officials who have violated their oaths of office should be impeached and brought to trial. "Unless this is done by us, I predict, that the American people, outraged, pillaged, insulted and betrayed as they are in their own land, will rise in their wrath, and will sweep the money changers out of the temple. "Mr. Chairman, the United States is bankrupt: It has been bankrupted by the corrupt and dishonest Fed. It has repudiated its debts to its own citizens. Its chief foreign creditor is Great Britain, and a British bailiff has been at the White House and the British Agents are in the United States Treasury making inventory arranging terms of liquidations! Great Britain, Partner in Blackmail "Mr. Chairman, the Fed has offered to collect the British claims in full from the American public by trickery and corruption, if Great Britain will help to conceal its crimes. The trade agreement was worth billions to U.S. corporations such as Mission Energy and General Electric. "As markets expand, as information flows, the roots of an open society will grow and strengthen and contribute to stability," stated President Clinton during the 1994 signing. Five years later, in December 1999, Indonesia opened a criminal investigation of the Clinton administration sponsored electric power plants using documents first published by WorldNetDaily. The documents were obtained by this reporter using the Freedom of Information Act and were provided to the Indonesians at the request of their legal counsel. According to the Indonesian Financial Control and Development Agency (BPKP), the Clinton administration documents detail "corruption, collusion and nepotism" at the Power Generating Project Paiton I (PLTU), located in East Java. The Executive Director of the Indonesian state power company PT PLN confirmed that a report has been prepared by the Indonesian government on the criminal activity. "Yes, it's true," stated Director Tung Gono. "We have asked BPKP to look into two items. First, concerning a cluster of 27 private power projects, second, concerning 27 project implementations. The report has just come in." Some 14 officials, who handled the agreement at the time, are now suspected of facilitating or providing special treatment to an economic unit connected to the power plant. The Paiton power plant in East Java is owned by Japan's Mitsui Electric, U.S. based Edison Mission Energy and General Electric, and an Indonesian firm PT Batu Hitam Perkasa that is controlled by local millionaire Hashim Djojohadikusumo. Mr. Hashim is closely tied to the former dictator of Indonesia, President Suharto. Mr. Hashim's brother is married to Suharto's youngest daughter, Ms. Prabowo. Ms. Prabowo is also a part owner of the Paiton power plant. Hashim's father was also a close friend of Suharto and a former economic minister to the Indonesian strongman. Bill Clinton is also closely tied to former dictator Suharto. Declassified State Department cables from U.S. Ambassador J. Stapleton Roy note that the Paiton I electric project was of extreme importance to Clinton's Secretary of State. The Clinton administration documents openly state that "Warren Christopher is on Edison Mission's board of directors." "Paiton Energy President Ronald Landry provided the IPP's (independent power producers) with an overview of former Secretary of State Warren Christopher's visit to Indonesia," states a 1998 U.S. embassy cable from Roy. "Mr. Christopher, representing Edison International's board, was here to launch a proposal." According to Paiton CEO Landry, Christopher "spoke on behalf of the IPP's" when he said that any solution reached with Indonesia must: - Be a 'Win-Win' solution and not 'embarrass' Indonesia; - Protect the USG, other government agencies and the financial community; - Maintain debt coverage and the sanctity of the contract - Focus on financial rather than legal issues." One document, an October 1998 State Dept. cable from the U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, J. Stapleton Roy, notes that Indonesian Director General of Electricity Endro Utomo Notodisoerjo commented on "corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN)." "Endro said that in the past there was no separation between 'power' (not electric but former first family power) and business. 'All the IPP's have a relation with power, and it is still going on,' added Endro," states the cable from Ambassador Roy. Despite the overwhelming evidence of criminal activity, according to Paiton's president Ronald Landry, the U.S. controlled power company preferred to resolve the issue through negotiation. "Unfortunately, it has become clear to us by PLN's pursuit of this undeserving suit that PLN is not sincerely interested in negotiation," said Landry in a December 1999 press announcement. The announcement of a criminal investigation into the Paiton project came after the Central Jakarta district court ruled that it had jurisdiction to examine the legality of the purchase contract between state electricity company PT PLN and independent power producer PT Paiton Energy. The Indonesian court turned down Paiton's proposition that the court did not have the right to examine the case, and that international arbitration should settle the matter. Paiton had argued that the purchase agreements signed by both parties in 1994 required all disputes be resolved through international arbitration in Stockholm. Indonesian legal counsel, Adnan Buyung Nasution, argued that the contract was void ab initio or "void from the beginning." It is not only his debts, associations, and sympathies to the China Lobby which have linked Nixon with Kuomintang machinations in Indochina and helped plunge the U.S. deeper into the morass there. One of his most important foreign policy appointments since taking office has been the reassignment of Ray Cline as State Department director of intelligence and research. Cline, the controversial CIA station chief in Taiwan who helped organize KMT forays into Communist China, in 1962 promoted Nixon's old project of a Bay of Pigs invasion of China. Within a month of Clines recent appointment, the resumption of pilotless Intelligence flights over mainland China was approved. The entire cast of the China Lobby has relied on one magic corporation, the same corporation established just after World War II by General Claire Chennault as Civil Air Transport and renamed in the 1950's Air America. Carrier not only of men and personnel for all of Southeast Asia, but also of the policies that have turned Indochina into the third bloodiest battlefield in American history, Air America's chief contract is with the American Central Intelligence Agency. ''Nobody ever lost money taking profits,'' said Lawrence Kreicher, chief economist of Alliance Capital Management. He predicted interest rates on bonds would end the year below current levels after rising in the first half. The sell-off began in European trading, with key indexes falling from 2.4 percent in Frankfurt to nearly 5 percent in Amsterdam, where the market suffered from weakness in Baan NV, the corporate software concern. Earlier, Asian markets were mixed, with sharp gains in Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, but weakness in Hong Kong, whose large real estate sector is sensitive to rising rates. On Wall Street, the Nasdaq composite index, which gained more than 85 percent last year, plunged 229.99 points, or 5.6 percent, to 3,901.16. That was the biggest percentage decline in 18 months. The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 3.16 percent, to 10,999.17. As fears receded that the Y2K computer bug would cause economic disruptions, investors' attention turned to speculation U.S. and European central banks would push interest rates higher. Life during the rest of the twentieth century was like crouching under a rock. But human life is not required to be like the twentieth century. That wasn´t fate, it was merely a historical circumstance. In this new Belle Epoque, this delightful era, we are experiencing a prolonged break in the last century´s even tenor of mayhem. The time has come to step out of those shadows into a different cultural reality. We need a sense of revived possibility, of genuine creative potential, of unfeigned joie de vivre. We have a new economy, but we have no new intelligentsia. We have massive flows of information and capital, but we have a grave scarcity of meaning. In a world fully competent to command its material basis, ideology is inherently flimsy. Technology broke the gridlock of the five-decade Cold War. It made a new era thinkable. And, finally, technology made a new era obvious. But too many twentieth-century technologies are very like twentieth-century ideologies: rigid, monolithic, poisonous and non-sustainable. We need clean, supple, healthy means of support for a crowded world. We need recyclable technologies, industries that don´t take themselves with that Stalinesque seriousness that demands the brutal sacrifice of millions. In order to make flimsy, supple technologies thinkable, and then achievable, then finally obvious, we need an ideology that embraces its own obsolescence. The immediate future won´t be a period suitable for building monuments, establishing thousand-year regimes, creating new-model citizens, or asserting leaden certainties about anything whatsoever. The immediate future is about picking and choosing among previously unforeseen technical potentials. Our time calls for intelligent fads. Our time calls for a self-aware, highly temporary array of broad social experiments, whose effects are localized, non-lethal and reversible -- yet transparent, and visible to all parties who might be persuaded to look. The Internet is the natural test-bed for this fast-moving, fast-vanishing, start-up society. Because the native technology of the coming years is not the 19th century "machine" or the 20th century "product." It is the 21st century "gizmo." A gizmo is a device with so many features and so many promises that it can never be mastered within its own useful lifetime. A gizmo is flimsy, cheap, colorful, friendly, intriguing, easily disposable, and unlikely to harm the user. The gizmo´s purpose is not to efficiently perform some function or effectively provide some service. A gizmo exists to snag the user´s attention, and to engage the user in a vast unfolding nexus of interlinked experience. Ramsey Electronics, previously thought to be a company that sold educational electronic kits to hobbyists, school children, and amateur radio experimenters, was stormed by seven armed US Customs agents armed with a warrant accusing them of selling devices that MIGHT be in violation of US Code Title 18, Section 2512. For the laymen, that means that the stuff they sold to thousands of boy scouts, schools and hobbyists all these years was determined by them to be "primarily designed for surreptitious use", presumably by international espionage organizations and terrorist groups. Especially of interest to the brown shirts were the FM-1 wireless microphone kits that are priced at $5.95. One might assume these sophisticated "high-tech" wireless bugs are the type that would interest the likes of Osama bin Laden, the multi-millionaire terrorist who currently resides in Afghanistan. Also the Canadian/United States border crossing (one of the heaviest traveled in US) is only 7 miles from Buffalo and 75 miles from Victor NY, the home of Ramsey Electronics. Several suspected terrorists have been nabbed at various border crossings recently so one could assume that the terrorists that are spilling over the border are probably making a beeline to Ramsey Electronics to stock up on the latest in spy devices - at a price even the most cash-strapped terrorist could afford. Rumors have it that bin Laden is a little slow paying up on the expense accounts. All humor aside, this is a serious matter in which John Ramsey and his company could face serious Federal charges and prison time. Most surely, the prospect of bankruptcy looms in his mind since he faces outrageous legal bills to defend his good name in the face of the Justice Department and its unlimited resources. The raid commenced on November 10, 1999 at 10:00 AM when 7 armed US Customs agents in three vehicles accompanied by 3 New York State Troopers arrived at the Ramsey business. It's curious that they thought they needed a small army to storm the Ramsey business that resides quite openly and freely accessible in an office park. Everyone and anyone visits the storefront daily; from young children to adults. As John Ramsey says, "it's not like we're in a dingy basement in the inner city surrounded by hit-men and drug labs." Ramsey told CyberSKIP that two of the agents were recognized by a technician as having visited the showroom the previous week ostensibly as customers. They had asked him if some of the devices could be used to bug offices. They tried to persuade the tech to assure them that some of the products could specifically be used for bugging offices and asked if he could tell them how to, "increase the power to go farther." The technician correctly told them that all of the products were for hobbyists. He told them, "If you want something like that, you're in the wrong place." Although the writer is not an authority in the fine points of law, this smacks of entrapment. After casing the business, the two agents returned to Buffalo, a 75 mile, 1-1/2 hour trip, apparently armed with sufficient evidence with which to obtain a warrant for the raid. A week later the raid was executed. Somewhat out of character, the agents stormed the building but without the normally requisite ski masks, blazing weapons and flash bang grenades. They ordered Ramsey to his office and ordered him to "stay there and don't move." The agents said, "If you don't cooperate, we can tie you up forever". He was ordered sit down then they told him that if he didn't cooperate, "we'll shut down your business, send everyone home and we'll bring in computer experts to dissect your computers bit by bit and we don't care if it takes months." It was then that the agents revealed what they came for; the wireless mikes. Ramsey said, "Why didn't you just call me and tell me to stop selling the products in question? We would have stopped selling them immediately if you simply would have asked. That sure would have saved all of us a lot of time, effort and taxpayers money - we'd even pay for the call on the 800 number!" Obviously the agents were in no mood for reasoned dialog. NO ONE claims that the Bible is historical. The question is, how much of what is in the Bible is historical and how much is religious fiction. You also need to separate the OT from the NT when talking about the Bible because as historians and archaeologists of all stripes make more discoveries in and around the Middle East, the veracity of the OT is going up, while the veracity of the NT is going down. That is kind of interesting considering that verifying the historicity of the original Bible should be more difficult since it's stories are ( traditionally ) 2000 years older. On the other hand, you would think that the stories in the New Testament would be much more easily verifiable considering that the stories occurred fairly recently, and within and beside other cultures' written histories such as Roman, Jewish, Copt, Arab, etc. etc. I'm not talking about the theological or supernatural content of both Bibles. I'm talking about things like finding places that ceased to exist since biblical times, or writings of other cultures which corroborate historical figures, or descriptions of natural events which left their marks in the earth. I don't envy religionists at this point in time. It could happen at any moment. Some discovery will be made which will put some people's favorite mythology to rest. I see this as a good thing. In a flash of lightening, God delivered the specifications for an Ark. In fear and trembling, Noah took the plans and agreed to build the Ark. "Now, remember," said the Lord, "You must complete the Ark and bring everything aboard in one year." Exactly one year later, fierce storm clouds covered the earth and all the seas of the earth went into a tumult. The Lord looked down and saw Noah sitting in his front yard, weeping. "Noah," God shouted down, "where is the Ark?" "Oh, Lord, please forgive me!" cried Noah. "I did my best, but there were big problems. First, I had to get a permit for construction, and your plans did not comply with the codes. So I had to hire an engineering firm and redraw the plans. Then I got into a fight with OSHA over whether or not the Ark needed a fire sprinkler system and flotation devices. I had problems getting enough wood for the Ark, because there was a ban on cutting trees to protect the Spotted Owl. I finally convinced the U.S. Forest Service that I needed the wood to save the owls. However, the Fish and Wildlife Service won't let me catch any owls. So, no owls. "The carpenters formed a union and went out on strike. I had to negotiate a settlement with National Labor. Now I have 16 carpenters on the Ark, but still no owls. When I started rounding up the other animals, I got sued by an animal rights group. They objected to me taking only two of each kind aboard. "Just when I got that suit dismissed, the EPA notified me that I could not complete the Ark without filing an environmental impact statement on your proposed flood. They didn't take very kindly to the idea that they had no jurisdiction over the conduct of the Creator of the universe. Then the Army Engineers demanded a map of the proposed new flood plain. I sent them a globe. That's right, isn't it? "Right now, I am trying to resolve a complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that I am practicing discrimination by not taking terrible, godless blasphemers aboard! "The IRS has seized my assets, claiming that I'm building the Ark in preparation to fleeing the country to avoid paying taxes. I just got a notice from the state that I owe them some kind of user tax and failed to register the Ark as a recreational water craft.' What will become of the new DC generator stored in the garage, the porta-potty, the water purifier and the freeze-dried beef and canned wheat? A few who feared Y2K may have bought a remote cabin retreat with a garden plot, or left good jobs to avoid expected inter city ethnic catastrophe. We wish them well, they are not the first. For most, Y2K will simply be a memory and a useful dry run in self-preparedness. The biggest beneficiaries will be those who sold stuff and bad advice. The most surprised people may be retailers with a no-questions-asked return policy, for it is likely their parking lots and return lines will be very busy indeed. There may actually be a serious Y2K retail backlash from reverse sales when stuff gets returned and the family decides to eat up the stored spam and canned stew, however reluctantly, reducing their shopping needs for a few months. I have seen no polls on the matter, but without a doubt many of those most affected were influenced by Celebrity Christians, who were most susceptible to the apocalypse epidemic. The Y2K ripoff is part of a more damaging fleecing that has been perpetrated upon the Christians for three generations. It is part of the great "end times" hoax that is far more enduring and destructive than its adopted Y2K stepchild. The doomsday cult was hatched in the 1830's in England in the person of John Nelson Darby, the inventor of the British Israel movement. Before Darby's revelations believers in Christ's deity generally thought the "end time" ended when Jesus was murdered by the Pharisees and raised by God. (Jesus told his Disciples they were living in the last days) Jesus taught his followers that they lived in the times of responsibility, that come to be known as the church age, a period of sober discipleship when it was the responsibility of the Christian to carry out the "great commission"-- to evangelize the unsaved world. And they did. The rapture cultists, many of whom write books, have built their theological empires (and in some cases vast fortunes) by convincing us that Jesus was speaking directly to us, not his Disciples, when he talked about about the last days. And what better time for an apocalypse, the Rapturist reasons, than when the world is celebrating the Year 2000. God could hardly pick a more symbolic moment to punish the wicked and reward the righteous. The idea that God practices numerology, and that the Year 2000 means something special to Him is of course quite unchristian.* Numerology games were not played by Jesus, nor practiced among the Disciples. This is more a part of the pagan religions of the non-bible people, including the Babylonians who taught it to the Pharisees of Jesus' time. Jesus and the Disciples denounced the scribes and Pharisees who followed the superstitions of these ancestors. "Last days" theology effectively ended an era of Christian growth. For many, the notion that Christians should be of preparing for a "tribulation" has replaced the responsibility of evangelizing one's neighbors. Every war, famine, earthquake and evil act of man is viewed as another sign of that the "end times" have arrived. It has throttled the idea of self-sacrificing discipleship that once fired Christians to compass the world for Christ. In its place we have been influenced to accept a fatalistic view of our neighbors and leave it to God to take care of the unsaved after Gods people depart. For who will set a Christian example for those left behind in the chaos of the "tribulation"? No one! In vivid contrast, Jesus' plan called the righteous to teach by witness and example, thus bringing the plan of salvation to the ungodly, even unto death. Y2K appealed to the apocalyptic spirit of most Celebrity Christians who saw an opportunity for God to do something really big during an impending mini-catastrophe. Most Celebrity Christians helped God along with his planning, un-bothered by Jesus' words that warn not to do so. They loved Y2K because it fit the Darby pattern, and it sold rapture books as never before. Many frauds have been perpetrated upon the American people in the 20th century by government. But not so with the Y2K hype which bureaucrats played down for their own selfish reasons. All kinds of people, including churchmen, are honest believers in the chaos to come and shared with their friends out of good will. Some few promoted Y2K opportunistically for personal gain and should not be allowed to forget it. Others simply went along with those they considered to be technical authorities, and so the mania became an epidemic. Y2K will soon slip into history as

What's the big deal? I used to live in Utah, and most devout LDS folks have a one to two year supply of food stores and the means to live without all mod cons. It was one of the most admirable things about them. It took a lot of careful study, strict economy and planning to achieve this. BAH rates for 2000 released WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- Defense Department officials recently announced new Basic Allowance for Housing rates, which took effect Jan. 1 and apply to all military services. "The good news is the rates for people living in high-cost areas are increasing," said Maj. Justo Rivera, chief of Air Force Pay and Allowance Policy. "On the other hand, over half of our Air Force installations are located in areas with lower housing costs and, over time, newly assigned people there will receive lower BAH rates. However, the lower rates will not apply to those who are currently living in these areas, as they are "rate protected." Under this "protection," if BAH rates decrease, members' current allowances remain unchanged; if the housing allowances increase, members will receive the higher amount. "The lowered rates will only affect members who arrived at their new assignment after Dec. 31, 1999, since the BAH legislation includes a "rate protection" provision to protect currently assigned members from fluctuating local housing costs," Rivera said. He said a significant feature of the new BAH program is, regardless of where airmen are assigned, out-of-pocket expenses are equalized for every grade. No matter where in the country people move, they'll have the same out-of-pocket dollar amount within each grade and dependency status. In enacting DOD's housing allowance, Congress intended to pay for approximately 85 percent of the national average housing cost for each grade, with the member paying 15 percent "out-of-pocket." BAH does not cover all of service members' housing costs. By law, service members should pay no more than 15 percent of the national median housing cost out-of-pocket. In 1999, the out-of-pocket expenses were approximately 19.8 percent. The new BAH program, which replaced the Variable Housing Allowance, is intended to provide uniformed service members housing compensation based on comparable civilian costs of housing. BAH is based on rental costs by pay grade, dependency status and location. It's designed as a partial reimbursement to assist service members and their families in affording suitable off-base housing. According to Rivera, some key improvements of the housing allowance program include a cost-based system that is more efficient and responsive to the growing housing costs than the previous system. The new BAH methodology also ended the creeping growth in members' out-of-pocket expenses. Another change is the elimination of annual housing surveys and VHA offset. "The VHA offset was a negative incentive since it authorized finance offices to recoup a portion of the allowance when individuals did not use their full housing allowance. In addition, we got rid of the annual requirement to provide a copy of the lease or rental agreement to the finance office," Rivera said. "A key factor of the old and new housing allowance methodologies remains our commitment to ensure that the typical service member of a given grade and dependency status will not be penalized -- or rewarded -- for assignment to a high or low housing cost area," he added. "We will continue to take every reasonable step to ensure housing allowances are accurate and equitable." DOD stands down Y2K operations center by Paul Stone American Forces Press Service WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- Characterizing the Y2K rollover period as "a remarkably successful weekend," Deputy Secretary of Defense John Hamre announced Jan. 4 that DOD was standing down its Y2K operations center. During a Pentagon briefing Hamre said the minor glitches that did occur, combined with a normal start of the business week, makes it unnecessary to continue a full-scale watch on the millennium bug. "Everything worked fine. We just had a small handful of problems," Hamre said, crediting the "literally tens of thousands of people" involved in making DOD's Y2K repairs during the past two years. "We had no problems with any of our forces deployed anywhere," Hamre said. "Every one of our commanders in chief reported that they were under positive and affirmative control of their theater throughout the entire rollover period." Some of the minor glitches Hamre referred to included a "swipe card" not allowing entry to a building, a cash register that did not function at a facility in Okinawa, and some computers that did not automatically convert to the year 2000 -- a problem that was solved simply by rebooting the computers. He said the glitches were no more significant than a local dry cleaner not being able to get his or her computer working. We like air war because it promises a "good war" against faceless enemies who we don't have to watch suffer and die, at minimum risk to us (normally 1 aircraft/1-2 crewmembers exposed). If we want to maintain our air combat assets ready and able, we must invest in them appropriately. Based on a realistic national strategy, we must buy the right equipment, maintain it adequately, and allow our crews to train to the highest level of proficiency. By Russell Carollo The U.S. Army's latest annual aviation accident rate is the highest, excluding Desert Storm, in 17 years, and the Army's top safety official says mistakes are being made at almost every level. "Soldiers are dying and we are destroying costly equipment at a rate that is unacceptable," Brig. Gen. Gene M. LaCoste wrote in a cover story in the Army's December 1999 issue of its aviation safety magazine, Flightfax. "Most of the accidents didn't happen at the time of impact or during the crash sequence; they really occurred much earlier with a breakdown in leadership, standards, or discipline." LaCoste, director of the Army Safety Center at Fort Rucker, Ala., said that fiscal year 1999, which ended Sept. 30, "produced Army aviation's worst safety performance since Desert Shield/Desert Storm." Excluding Desert Storm, it was the worst since 1982, the article said. The Army reported a major aviation accident an average of once every 20 days during fiscal year 1999, which ended Sept. 30. Twenty people were killed, 10 aircraft were destroyed and damages exceeded $139 million. The fatalities, the accident rate and the amount of damages all showed increases. The Army reported 103 aviation accidents of Class C and above in fiscal 1999, and its overall accident rate for Class A, B and C accidents was 11.28 per 100,000 flight hours. A Class C accident involves at least $10,000 in damage or an injury causing a specified amount of lost work time. Army records show that from Oct. 1 to Dec. 16 of fiscal year 2000, the rate for A, B, and C accidents was 11.19--more than 66 percent higher than the rate during the same period last year. So far this fiscal year, the Army has had three Class A accidents, involving a death, permanent total disability, $1 million in damage or loss of an aircraft. That's one more major accident than during the same period last year. The Army reported 18 Class A accidents in fiscal 1999, giving the service a serious accident rate of 1.97 per 100,000 flight hours, up from 1.35 in fiscal 1998. The Air Force Class A accident rate also increased, from 1.14 accidents per 100,000 flight hours in fiscal year 1998 to 1.40 in 1999-the highest rate since 1995. The Navy/Marine Corps rate dropped to 1.44 from a five-year high of 2.37 the year before. LaCoste's comments follow a Dayton Daily News six-part series on military aviation safety, published Oct. 24-29. The newspaper series, the result of an 18-month examination, found that the military routinely allows helicopters and airplanes into the air that it knows are plagued with potentially deadly safety problems--conditions, in some cases, allowed to persist for months, years or even decades. The series reported that the military's already flawed aviation safety system recently has become further strained by massive downsizing and budget cuts, the loss of thousands of experienced pilots and mechanics, global conflicts and an aging fleet of aircraft. Thousands of the military's most skilled mechanics have left the services since the end of the Cold War, the series reported. LaCoste attributed the Army's rising accident rate to some of these same problems. Saddam Hussein and his big-bucks buddy, Osama bin Laden, kept their bombs in their bags and their bugs in their bottles. And all our toilets flushed. The passing of the last day of the last year of this wild ride of a century into the new millennium left me exhausted. My wife, Eilhys, and I hit the rack at 9 p.m. after she indulged me by helping me run through my end-of-the-world checklist one more time. No way was I going to be part of more than a crowd of two on the day so many experts were warning the sky might fall. Popcorn and movies were it. We studied a double-feature matinee -- "On the Beach" and "Dr. Strangelove" -- as if they were Army training films. That was all we could squeeze in before putting the guard dogs through yet another precautionary drill and barricading the fortress. But for me sleep was fretful. I kept waking up every hour to see if our canary was still alive, if the little red light was still shining "on" from our television and to listen for the phone -- 10 radio and two TV stations had me on standby to report in case any bad stuff hit the fan. Not sure what I could've reported on had the Y2K terrors descended upon us, as I'd have been out of commo. I guess if someone got through on the cell phone, I could've riffed on how I love the smell of hot candle wax early in the morning and why the backup generator won't be ready until the 7th. That might've been good for two or three minutes. The question now is what to do with 2,000 bottles of spring water, 20 cases of tuna, 400 pounds of rice and beans, 10 cases of Army-ration MREs (Meals Refused by Ethiopians), a few thousand rounds of shotgun ammo, a like number of batteries and a half-garage of pink candles I got a deal on from a bankrupt restaurant. Eilhys, with her infinitely cheery disposition when things are most grim, suggested I open a roadside stand in front of the house and flog the stuff at a discount. She pointed out that once the generator was finally up and running, fueled by my new butane gas tank, I'd be able to operate 24 hours a day, good weather or bad. She kindly didn't mention that all was purchased with most of the money we'd been saving to revisit our honeymoon place in Fiesole, Italy. I shot that idea down faster than Al Gore can say Tennessee. "Right! Except that would take this town's planning commissions another millennium to approve. First we'd have to get Larry-the-engineer to do a study analyzing the impact on the environment. Then he'd have to run it by Wetlands and all the other agencies, and 82 inspections, 20 grand and a couple years later, they'd say no." Returning the cash -- the rest of our savings -- to the bank won't be a problem. That is, when I find it. I swear I buried the swag by the big rock next to the oak tree in the back yard. Ten holes later, still no sign of the tin cans. The dogs are no help either. They're so exhausted from the extra motivational training, they've flat refused to double as sniffers to get me out of a serious jam. Eilhys doesn't buy my line that we're all victims of the past, in spite of a most excellent excuse. After all, I had the five Ps -- Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance -- beaten into me by tough sergeants when I was a kid. So whenever there's a threat, I've just got to get ready. But all's not lost. I'm holding onto the 86 cases of whiskey just in case Prohibition comes back. You can never tell. Idaho sues U.S. Forest Service Feds accused of railroading lockup of 8 million acres --- By Julie Foster © 2000 WorldNetDaily.com Fearing the federal government is trying to severely restrict the use of eight million of its acres, the State of Idaho has sued the U.S. Forest Service to stop the agency from ramming major policy changes down the state's throat without giving officials there time to provide input. After its Freedom of Information Act Request was ignored for nearly three weeks -- the maximum time allotted for such requests is 10 days -- Idaho filed suit demanding more information regarding the federal government's "roadless protection plan," which proposes to set aside 50 million acres of U.S. land to remain roadless, and about which states were given only 60 days to comment. "What we're asking of the federal government in this lawsuit is to open up the process to provide a meaningful dialogue between the states that would have to live with the effects of this proposal. Any significant relationship between the states and the federal government demands nothing less," said Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne. Idaho Attorney General Al Lance calls the Forest Service's proposal "completely unacceptable." Adding, "The project is moving so quickly that it is impossible to provide meaningful comments," Lance is demanding a standard extension of 120 days to allow for dissemination of information about the proposal, so that Idahoans can have the chance to formulate their opinions of the project. Lance's frustration began in October when the Forest Service issued a notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact statement that would lead to the end of all multiple use of millions of acres of National Forest land around the country. Approximately eight million of those acres are in Idaho. The Forest Service limited the comment period on what President Clinton calls "one of the largest land preservation efforts in American history" to just 60 days -- an unusually short amount of time, since most comment periods for such government projects range from three to four months. "This announcement was an abrupt departure from the Forest Service's previous efforts to manage land in a collaborative manner with affected state and local governments," Lance said. "Idaho was given no advance notice of the October announcement and was provided no meaningful opportunity to respond." The state's 17-page lawsuit declares that the 60-day comment period was insufficient notice, that the information provided to states about the roadless project was inadequate -- the state has not yet been told which specific acreage will be affected by the project -- and requests an extension to allow state government officials to formulate their response to the project. The Forest Service maintains a website intended to inform the public about its roadless project, which, according to a spokesman for Lance, was still under construction the day the comment period ended. The site says the project will "restrict certain activities, such as road construction and reconstruction in the unroaded portions of inventoried roadless areas." The website also contains the following statement: "We propose to establish procedures and criteria to be used by each forest to determine what activities are consistent with the important values associated with roadless areas of all sizes -- inventoried or not -- that maintain or enhance social or ecological attributes." According to the Forest Service, "[Americans] do not have the resources to take care of our existing 380,000-mile road system. For example, we receive only about 20% of the funding needed to fully maintain roads. The backlog of road reconstruction and maintenance work is about $8.4 billion. Many have questioned if we should build new roads into pristine roadless areas if we can't take care of the road system that already exists. "Building new roads into roadless areas to more easily manage the resources, for example, to thin overstocked stands of trees, is expensive," says the site. "Costs include environmental and engineering analysis as well as the costs of dealing with the controversy including appeals, lawsuits. In addition, roads may contribute to resource degradation. We believe that we should be investing our limited time and resources into projects that have broader support, are less costly, and have fewer environmental impacts than building new roads in roadless areas." Critics, however, believe the project will leave forests neglected. "The Roadless Areas Policy threatens the health and safety of our National Forests by denying access, not only for recreationists, but more importantly for resource management and firefighting," said Trudy Thomas, veteran political commentator and affiliate of Paul-Revere.org.

Her slipped into a catatonic state while delivering her fourth child. On Christmas Eve, she suddenly snapped back to consciousness. "Don't do that," she blurted out when nurses were trying to fix her nursing home bed. Doctors cannot explain why Ms. White Bull, 42, awakened. Her mother, Snowflake Flower, said it was a Christmas miracle from God. Ms. White Bull - known as "Happi" - has been speaking her children's names, catching up on family developments and spending a lot of time just watching her children and smiling. "I just went up to her and gave her a hug, and she gave me a hug back," her oldest child, Cindi, told the Albuquerque Journal. "It was the first time she had ever hugged back. It was scary at first. It was overwhelming emotionally." Ms. White Bull's speech is clear but limited. She has talked very little but listened a lot. Her hands, which had been clenched tightly for 16 years, have loosened. She has been driven up into the mountains to breathe the fresh air. She has been wheeled around a shopping mall. She has eaten a small bite of pizza. And on Monday, with her ability to swallow improving, she ate chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy. Pointing to new running shoes, she said: "I'm going to run." Doctors say Ms. White Bull's condition was caused by a blood clot that lodged in her lung and caused her to stop breathing while her son Mark Jr. was being delivered by Caesarean section. She was resuscitated but suffered brain damage from lack of oxygen. Even by the Clinton administration practice of ignoring normal democratic procedures whenever convenient, the move was extraordinary as it consisted of neither an executive order nor a properly issued regulation. Rather, OSHA claimed it was simply applying existing law: WASHINGTON POST: The advisory is not a proposed rule, but rather a declaration of existing policy the agency deems already to be in effect. Although the advisory does not provide specifics, in effect it means that employers are responsible for making sure an employee has ergonomically correct furniture, such as chairs and computer tables, as well as proper lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation systems in the home office . . . [OSHA] is not requiring employees to routinely inspect the home work sites of their employees. But the advisory does hold employers responsible for any illnesses or injuries that office in the home workplace. SARAH LUECK, WALL STREET JOURNAL: Facing a loud outcry from business groups, Labor Secretary Alexis Herman quickly retreated from any broad interpretation of a recent Occupational Safety and Health Administration notice that would hold employers responsible for the safety and health of employees working at home . . . "The federal government has neither the desire nor the resources to investigate private homes," she said . . . Critics said OSHA's interpretation of current rules would unfairly require businesses to monitor employees' homes -- a costly undertaking that some consider an invasion of privacy. Gray Davis' appeal for a timeout on new gun controls, Democrats plan to start pushing sweeping proposals to license handgun owners and register their firearms when the Legislature convenes today for its 2000 session. The controversial election-year plan promises to be a centerpiece of Democrats' lawmaking efforts, especially urban liberals convinced that voters want even tougher restrictions than the strong controls enacted in 1999 with Davis' backing. One plan being advanced by Assembly Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa, a candidate for mayor of Los Angeles, would require prospective buyers to be tested for competency in the safe handling and firing of a pistol or revolver as a requirement for getting a license. "It seems to me that for an inherently dangerous activity like owning a gun, one should have to be able to certify competency and proficiency in the use of that gun," Democrat Villaraigosa said in an interview last week. No one knows how many handguns are in California households. Steve Helsley, lobbyist for the National Rifle Assn., estimated they may total from 7 million to 10 million. According to Department of Justice records, at least 2.6 million were legally sold in California from 1990 through 1998. Proponents of gun owner licensing and registration concede that without Davis in their corner, they face an uphill fight to win approval of major new firearms bills. They also anticipate strong opposition from gun owner groups, which are expected to focus on Democrats in swing districts, especially in the Central Valley. The debate is expected to be emotional--and closely watched by presidential candidates, especially Democrats Bill Bradley and Al Gore, who are advancing their own gun control proposals as they stump California for the March 7 primary. And the debate will certainly be a bellwether for whether the nation will embrace even stronger gun controls. The Democrats, who control both houses of the Legislature, began disclosing details of their proposed bills as they prepared for today's start of the second half of the two-year session. It will be a week laden with the ceremony of state government. Davis will make his second State of the State speech to a televised joint meeting of the Senate and Assembly on Wednesday. Next Monday, he will submit his state budget, which is expected to reach at least $85 billion (up from $81 billion) as the California economy shifts into overdrive. Other major issues for the governor and lawmakers include: fine tuning reforms of the public schools enacted in 1999, considering an Oregon-style physician-assisted suicide law, and dishing out about $3 billion in unanticipated tax revenues. Last year, Davis signed into law five major gun control bills that he called the toughest in the nation. Among them was one strengthening California's assault weapons law. But in October, shortly after the Legislature adjourned, the governor called for a moratorium on new legislation. In a series of messages accompanying his veto of three relatively minor gun bills then, Davis called on lawmakers to enact no "significant" gun legislation this year "until the impact of the laws recently enacted can be measured and analyzed." 'He hasn't backed off on that," said Linda Chou, a Davis spokeswoman. But Democrats are pressing ahead, fueled in part by the campaigns of Vice President Gore and former Sen. Bradley of New Jersey and opinion polls showing Americans in favor of stricter firearms laws. In past legislative sessions, registration of guns and licensing of owners have been casually discussed but quickly abandoned as unrealistic in a state where firearms have been part of the culture since frontier times. But the landscape is changing as voters increasingly are troubled by shootings at schools and elsewhere. Behind the scenes, lawmakers are grappling with a variety of ideas. See my column of Thursday to understand why Y2K wasn't a hoax, and why there a lot of people who deserve thanks There's not much more to say, when I called Y2K almost to a tee: No one died as a result of Y2K problems; Power stayed on, despite widely dispersed and localized problems with computers; Embedded systems did not fail on a large scale, and those that did were non-critical; If anything, less developed countries proved they are less reliant on technology and, so, avoided many problems that would have occurred in the U.S. if Americans had ignored Y2K; Critical infrastructures operated normally, despite problems (at this writing, the FAA's few problems have not resulted in a threat to public safety, nor have any of the markets around the world that are open, including the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade, experienced any major problems). After all the abuse and threats ladled out toward me and my family for the past 18 months, let me just take one moment to gloat. Gloat. There was a moment on Saturday that brought the whole Y2K situation into crystal clarity, when Cathy Hotka of the National Retail Federation was asked by the press whether survivalists could return supplies they hadn't used. "Retailers are in the business of selling things and not lending them," she said, with remarkable credulity, considering how foolish the question sounded. In a nutshell, the Y2K problem has proved a non-event because business (and government) stuck to their strengths: business as usual, with a note of urgency in IT efforts. Overall, the two percent to seven percent of IT budgets dedicated to Y2K repairs by corporations and government agencies was a responsible and rational response. The cost shouldered by large organizations was much larger, as percentage of revenue, than what a household should have spent, because each company shouldered a small part of the expense of removing risk from their customers' lives. Now that the danger has passed, the survivalist who did over-spend has to live with the mistake while the rest of us will benefit from having calculated correctly. A little preparation went a long way. This is not a paean to the beauty of capitalism, just to good sense. As an investor, you take risks. As a human being, you take risks. Some folks over-react to risk and some thrive. From the very beginning of this Y2K odyssey, especially since I became convinced there was no reason to fear an apocalyptic failure or anything approaching that, I've been enraged by the opportunists who have exaggerated the risks of Y2K for their own profit. Now that the realities of Y2K are plain - I needn't rehash them here, other than to point to these stories I did for United Press International - we need to be sure to call to account those who abused so many people, costing them hundreds or thousands of dollars. Gary North's Web site has been altered, and many of the loonier statements he made there disappeared almost immediately after the rollover. North claims his site has been hacked, but the "damage" doesn't make sense - why would hackers wait until after the New Year and then remove only part of the content on the site? Fortunately, there are people with accurate back-ups of the North site to preserve the record. Mike Adams, who has threatened to sue me again for my recent article, has morphed Y2KNewswire from a pessimistic site to an optimistic one overnight. Where one day there were assertions of Y2K cover-ups, the next day there were a whole slew of stories about how Y2K has been beaten. The whole Y2KNewswire archive of links, in which Adams inserted preposterous interpretations of stories in the mainstream press have vanished. Why? Because Adams has a new site that will help people reinvent their lives - ironically, he's suggesting that life will be rebuilt using technology. What disingenuous crap. Ed Yourdon, at least, has preserved his published record intact. Yet, he refuses to admit he was wrong. We have just one task before us: Never to forget who led people astray and why. These opportunists, many of whom have made themselves rich with Y2K panic-mongering, are trying to rewrite history before our eyes. Don't let them do it. -Caveat Lector- Secondly, Tripp's recording always (as far as I know) crossed State lines and would therefore seem to be a Federal issue, over which Starr's office's immunity grant would seem to be unequivocal. Could somebody please explain why this isn't a slam-dunk for Tripp? Simply because something crosses a state line does NOT make it only Federal, or only the issue of a given state. Let me explain. A stands 100 yards inside the State of New York. B stands 100 yards inside the state of New Jersey (200 yards total distance between the two). A fires a rifle, bullet goes directly into B's heart. B's dead before he hits the ground. Who has jurisdiction? Answer is: Everyone. The criminal act was in New Jersey. The firing of the bullet with intent to kill. The bullet then actually killed SOMEONE (Note: as a matter of law, intent follows the bullet. IF A's bullet had nicked B and then tore half of C's head open, that is still murder.) The result of the criminal activity was in New York. A bullet fired by someone with intent to kill killed someone in the confines of the State of New York. That makes it a matter for the State of New York, as the death occured in the state. Now why did I say 100 yards? Because MANY states (I'd say all) state that if the action occurs within X yards of the border, the state can take it. This is to avoid the infamous "Well I'll make a run for the border" stuff. I think NY is 100 yards from its border, I don't think NJ is much different. And let's not forget the potential Federal aspect. Since this was a crime involving the crossing of a state line, the Feds could argue jurisdiction. Doubtful, but possible. Now, what does this have to do with Tripp? Maryland law applies since the (alledged) criminal action occured in Maryland. The resulting injury was in DC, but since DC is a federal district, a grant of immunity by Starr covers. A Federal prosecutor's grant of immunity does NOT however utterly totally preclude a state prosecution. A Federal JUDGE orderiing such a immunity does "Full faith and credit". That's why Maryland is scrambling to prove its case without using anything gotten from Starr's work to avoid this issue altogether. But this raising a whole nother issue: if a prosecutor grant immunity, does it need to be signed by a judge before it is offical? Well, that depends on the kind of immunity (limited, full, "transactional", etc.), the state, and so on. So, what do we have with Tripp: State-to-District jurisditional problem Time when an immunity agreement is deemed "in place" State's authority to ignore a Federal immunity deal if/when One more point Tripp was suppose to argue: Federal law says that the collection of information of a felony is valid (kinda like "citizens arrest". If you see a Federal crime (or any crime for that matter)in front of you, you are SUPPOSE to observe it if you can. Now Tripp was going to argue that since Federal law made such a collection of information ok, and since Federal law trumps state law (supremecy clause) that her collection was proper. The counter arguement: the collection of information means if you see a murder taking place, you are SUPPOSE to watch. The religion is known as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, otherwise known as Jehovah's Witnesses. I started with them in 1969, being attracted to their message of paradise on earth after having gone through the Vietnam war with my husband. I had two children whom I raised as Witnesses. But thankfully they are out now. I was happy for a few years, until the religion became more demanding and controlling. In 1987 there began to appear in the artwork subliminal drawings in their books and magazines depicting bizarre faces and strange messages. Eventually I experienced a psychic awakening by which I was enabled to actually 'see' through walls and able to follow the activities of the leaders. In September of 1988, at a small convention, I had a chance to walk up to one of the governing body 'elect' to speak to him privately. At that time I thought that they were the 'good' guys and someone was run amuck at headquarters. He was about 5'10". He had dark hair, heavy and powerfully built. His name was Daniel Sedlik and his was of Polish origin. As I reached out to shake his hand, he turned to return the shake. I looked into his eyes and was startled and somewhat terrified to see a thin membrane drop over his human eyes. I don't know if the membrane came from the bottom of his eyelid, or the top. But it was there, and I'd never heard of lizard beings, but I remember thinking how much his eyes looked like those of a lizard. The membrane dropped over his eyes when he looked at me and he seemed to recognize me, although at the time I couldn't imagine why. The sense of terrible danger that I had and the need to get away from him was overwhelming. Thankfully, others of the 'flock' spotted him and kept him from following me. It was after that that a reign of terror began against myself and my family. My telephone was tapped and I was followed. Also a series of what I now know were psychic attacks began. This kept up unmercifully for several years. I finally learned to protect myself and I began a path of awakening. I am not a weak or cowardly person, and I was deeply offended that, as I understood it, these people were using the cover of religion to hide illegal activities. As I researched their documents and books, I began to uncover a trail of drug running, plots to destroy the world and take it for their own, and arms running. Even down to the local congregation being used as a route for drug smuggling. I took my mountains of evidence to the DEA and met with them. Their response? Either I was a genius or totally insane. I learned that they had hidden rooms under the streets of Brooklyn, NY where they have their headquarters where the old Brooklyn subway used to be, which is now abandoned. There they practice Satanic ritual, including the sacrifices of human infants and the breeding of human females in order to keep the demand up of infants for their sacrifices. They are totally self-sufficient, and they use blood in the ink of their magazines. They make their own ink. The purpose of this is that if they can get their magazines into the homes of people, the vibrations of the magazines begin to break down the will and mind of those who have their magazines and books in their home. I warn people on a personal level never to allow their materials into their homes. A friend and myself tried warning people through the news media with no success. She finally had a complete nervous breakdown and has never fully recovered. Eventually I came to understand that the leaders are not fully human, but are the offspring of something alien to this earth. They are too cunning, lethal, and intelligent to have originated from here, and there has to be an overrace of beings guiding them from some dimension. They are here for one reason only. They look at humans as a source of enslavement for their enjoyment to torment and abuse, to misuse power and to cruelly punish and kill. I have overcome my fear of them, and I look to the love and goodness of the Source of All Life to deal with them appropriately, although we must do our part to stand opposed to them and anyone like them. -Caveat Lector- Italy Brings North Korea Out of Isolation 6 January 2000 SUMMARY The Italian Foreign Ministry announced Jan. 5 that it had exchanged letters with a Rome-based North Korean diplomat, opening relations between the two countries. This move also opens up a world of possibilities for North Korea; it serves as a way to improve ties throughout Europe and as a way for it to break out of its relative international isolation. For Italy, it raises its value throughout Europe as a bridge builder between Europe and pariah states. It also sets the stage for Europe to gain more leverage in its transatlantic economic ties. ANALYSIS The Italian Foreign Ministry announced Jan. 5 that Italian Foreign Minister Lamberto Dini met with North Koreas Rome-based permanent representative to the U.N.s Food and Agriculture Organization to formally establish diplomatic ties between the two countries. Under the arrangement, Italy's ambassador in Beijing will double as its envoy to Pyongyang but continue to live in China. North Korea already has diplomatic relations with five European countries including Austria, Denmark, Finland, Portugal and Sweden. However, in opening diplomatic ties with Italy, North Korea now has ties with one of the Group of Seven (G-7), the worlds seven leading industrialized countries. Formal diplomatic relations with Italy are a major step for North Korea in breaking out of its international isolation. It gives North Korea not only an outlet to the rest the G-7 and Europe, but it also gives it more leverage in its dealings with its neighbors South Korea, Japan, Russia and China as well as with the United States. In fact, North Korea made this point very clear just after the announcement in an unscheduled press conference. Just hours after Italy announced that it would open diplomatic ties with North Korea, the North Korean government announced that it would rescind plans to send a senior envoy to the United States for an official visit. Our delegation cannot visit the U.S. under the present circumstances, said North Korean ambassador to Beijing Chu Chang-Jun. Chu also announced that future talks with South Korea and Japan would depend on a change in attitude from the two countries toward North Korea. Whether a North-South summit will be open or not depends entirely on the behavior of [South Korean President] Kim Dae-jung, he said. He made almost identical remarks concerning Japanese-North Korean relations saying, The future of Japan-North Korea talks depends entirely on the attitude of the Japanese government. Still, both Japan and South Korea attempted to play the move to their favor. Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Mikio Aoki reportedly said, Any opening in the channels of communication with North Korea should be welcomed. South Korea also welcomed the move saying it was in line with Kims Sunshine Policy of engagement with the North. The South Korean Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry told South Korean media that, We respect the Italian governments decision, which we consider will help North Koreas integration into the international community. Despite the cautious optimism from both Japan and South Korea, it is apparent that North Korean and Italian relations could endanger the Sunshine Policy, since it is designed to link the Norths economy to the Souths. These ties may serve to strengthen the North Korean economy by opening up the possibility of European investment. Also, in securing a bridgehead in the industrialized world, North Korea increases its maneuverability, making it more complicated for its neighbors to take measures against the state, in effect weakening the U.S., South Korean and Japanese leverage on the Stalinist state. For Italy, the opening of diplomatic relations with North Korea means something entirely different. Even though Italy is the sixth European Union (EU) member state to forge diplomatic links with Pyongyang, this move enhances Italys reputation within Europe for forging relations with states on the fringes of the international community. In previous cases, such as with Iran and Libya, Italian openings have led to increased interaction between those countries and the EU as a whole. The EU usually pushes a joint diplomatic and security policy, but establishing ties with a certain nation is the sole decision of a member country. In July 1998, Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi's visit to Tehran, where he met with both Iranian President Mohammad Khatami and supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, paved the way for a gradual thaw in Iranian-Western ties and allowed Iran to call for a dialogue with the EU. This opened up the way for Khatami to make state visits to Italy in March 1999 and to Germany and France later that year. It was the first visit by an Iranian leader to Western Europe since 1979. Italy also moved to re-invigorate ties with Libya through a visit by Italian Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema on Dec. 2, 1999, to its

Independent digital media can't survive without an Operating System (OS)
and an Internet that are free from corporate control.
At a 1996 Media and Democracy conference in San Francisco, CA, Andy
Sharpless, Vice President of Progressive Networks of Seattle, told his
audience that independent, Internet-based media outlets had just five
years to compete against large, corporate sites (Beacham, 1996). The five
years are almost up, and it's abundantly clear that Sharpless' prediction
was right on the money. Corporations are well on their way to transforming
the Internet into a computerized version of broadcast television, replete
with mind-numbing consumerism, an aversion to reporting of news that
corporations dislike, and using all the tricks of broadcast TV (including
fast-changing images, gratuitous sex, and subtle psychological
manipulation) to keep your eyes glued to the screen.
But it's not merely the dumbing-down of Internet content that worries
independent media activists. Within the next five years, the
transformation of Internet content will be coupled with intrusive,
surreptitious content monitoring, akin to having your every move in a
public bookstore or newsstand exhaustively catalogued and monitored, and
then put up for sale to any interested party. In contrast to today's
monitoring, which is ostensibly done without associating individuals'
names with the collected data, tomorrow's will be more personal -- and far
more damaging. Employers, after all, will doubtless be very keen to
knowing whether job applicants have (say) visited sites discussing such
matters as worker's compensation, alcoholism, depression, or (horror of
horrors) trade unionism. If you've accessed the "wrong" site and some
other, equally capable applicant hasn't, perhaps you won't get that job,
but you'll never know why. ("Your credentials did not fit our needs at
this time.") Skeptical? American workers are already terrified of making
worker's compensation claims or seeking treatment for anxiety or
depression, knowing full well that doing so may ruin their chances for
future employment.
In the corporate-shaped Internet to come, one may feel a powerful prior
constraint concerning the mere seeking of any information -- the mere
reading of any content -- that would displease an employer. This is
repression on a scale as horrifying as anything envisioned in dystopian
science fiction novels such as Brave New World ; perhaps even more
horrifying, because it's all too clear that the needed technology is
available right now. You'll find out soon enough that, in fact, it's
already in use. For a time, there will be a big public outcry, and the
first company that's caught will have to back off. After the furor dies
down, though, the practice will become commonplace and unremarkable --
until, that is, it ruins your career.
Make no mistake about it: there's a battle to come, and it's not really
about "consumers" and "privacy" and the rest of the meaningless
terminology you've heard. Fundamentally, it's about democracy :
specifically, the right of the people to obtain the information and
knowledge they need to govern themselves in freedom. And, as you'll see,
Linux and the Open Source software movement promise to play a key role in
this battle.
WHY INDEPENDENT MEDIA MATTER
If you get your news only from mainstream media, you'd think a "guerilla
army of anti-trade activists" disrupted the WTO's recent Seattle
conference ( Washington Post , 12/1/99) and what's more, that the Seattle
police responded with force only after a "small band of self-described
anarchists" started smashing downtown merchants' windows (CNN, 12/1/99).
Animating the protesters, as stressed repeatedly by the media, was a grab
bag of ill-formed, far-fetched ideas. To explain the protesters' concerns,
a CNN reporter sought out the president of the National Association of
Manufacturers (certainly a highly objective commentator) who could discern
only "a lot of crazy different messages" from the "loopy protesters". A
New York Times columnist summed up the demonstrators as a "Noah's ark of
flat-earth advocates, protectionist trade unions, and yuppies looking for
their 1960s fix" (FAIR Media Advisory, December 7, 1999,

What you don't know has been reported only by the independent media
movement; a coalition of web sites, progressive radio stations, book
publishers, newspapers, and magazines devoted to providing an alternative
to the world view

-Caveat Lector- It was a beautiful day last Sunday, and I took a drive about 50 miles north of Asheville. The sky was clear when I left, except for a couple of chemtrails, like I've noticed several mornings recently. I went as far as the Tennessee border, got a bite to eat, and then headed back toward Asheville on back roads.. as I neared Asheville, the sky looked overcast, with some brownish color toward the horizon. Looking at the "overcast" it was quite apparent that it had been created by multiple passes of chemtrails, some of them slowly fusing into one another, but still with visible lines. This morning's Asheville "Citzen-Times" newspaper carried a front page item about a young woman who died from a rare flesh-eating bacteria, and mentioned in passing that the hospital is overloaded with "influenza epidemic " victims... as are the hospitals in Southern California, Wisconsin, Phoenix, and many other areas. "Last week, Southern California hospitals, including those in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties, were rerouting patients while they dealt with packed rooms. Reporting statewide outbreaks in December were Montana, Utah and Washington. I only wish I'd had my camera with me on these days. I could have gotten some great pictures. I've decided from now on that I will never leave home without it. I've had several sightings of chemtrails since the last of November. The first sighting occurred the night before Thanksgiving. It was about 6 or 7 in the evening, and my husband, my 3 children and myself were going to my mother-in-laws. The moon was especially bright that evening, and we were all admiring it as it kept popping in and out of the only cloud in the sky that evening. When we got farther into town, my husband pointed up in the direction of the moon, and said, "Look, do you see those chemtrails up there?" I looked, and I saw the familiar grid pattern that I'd seen so many pictures of on the net. Then I looked a little farther to the south and I saw the airplane. It was beginning a new grid pattern in that area. I was surprised, because I had never seen any chemtrails that were made at night before. I do believe that if it were not for the moon being so large and bright in the sky that evening, we would have never noticed the chemtrails. My second sighting occurred on December 13th. My mother, children and I were going to the cemetary to put some Christmas flowers on my grandparents grave. On the way there, I noticed a couple of chemtrails. I pointed them out to my mother, and we watched them all the way to the cemetary. By the time we got there, there must have been about 5 chemtrails. We couldn't see if it was the same plane coming back, or if it had the help of another plane. It would fly out of sight, and then we would see it coming back again. My latest sighting was on January 1st. Earlier that day my husband had called his mother, and while talking, she mentioned that she had seen some chemtrails while out shopping. We had to go out a little later that day, and of course, after what my mother-in-law had told us, we had our eyes to the sky. As soon as we got out to the highway, there they were! Tons of them! They were long, and very thick. We were able to spot 3 planes that were making these. I was thinking, "My God, this is overkill." As we got closer to Indianapolis, we spotted another plane that was making the chemtrails, and about 4 other planes that were not. The fact that comparatively simple "cures" may be had without resorting to allopathic medicine which kills tens of thousands every year (even though a lot of alopathy IS effective), is enough to wonder why there is vigorous repression of a substance that they say has no value? Why do they bother, if there is no harm in it? As for Chiropractors I think you are wrong, even if there is no scientific basis for spinal manipulation in curing diseases in other areas of the body it clearly has benefit for people who are suffering from some types of back and muscle problems, and can't be called quackery IMO. If a chiropractor were to tell you he could cure your athletes foot by manipulating your spine I would be highly skeptical, and maybe presume him to be a "quack". On the other hand if I have a problem with my back or the muscles therein and a chiropractor were to tell me that he could help I would expect it to be so. I have had good results from spinal manipulation (as well as massage and other related techniques). In short one must wonder. If homeopathy is just bunk and the compounds you take are just water (essentially true since the dilutions are so great), AND there is no harm done if you do take them, THEN why is there such a strong effort to cast aspersions at it? Wouldn't it be easier just to ignore it like science does so many other things that it finds unpalatable? That is the rub, and the conspiracy connection. This move also opens up a world of possibilities for North Korea; it serves as a way to improve ties throughout Europe and as a way for it to break out of its relative international isolation. For Italy, it raises its value throughout Europe as a bridge builder between Europe and pariah states. It also sets the stage for Europe to gain more leverage in its transatlantic economic ties. Analysis The Italian Foreign Ministry announced Jan. 5 that Italian Foreign Minister Lamberto Dini met with North Korea's Rome-based permanent representative to the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization to formally establish diplomatic ties between the two countries. Under the arrangement, Italy's ambassador in Beijing will double as its envoy to Pyongyang but continue to live in China. North Korea already has diplomatic relations with five European countries including Austria, Denmark, Finland, Portugal and Sweden. However, in opening diplomatic ties with Italy, North Korea now has ties with one of the Group of Seven (G-7), the world's seven leading industrialized countries. Formal diplomatic relations with Italy are a major step for North Korea in breaking out of its international isolation. It gives North Korea not only an outlet to the rest the G-7 and Europe, but it also gives it more leverage in its dealings with its neighbors - South Korea, Japan, Russia and China - as well as with the United States. In fact, North Korea made this point very clear just after the announcement in an unscheduled press conference. Just hours after Italy announced that it would open diplomatic ties with North Korea, the North Korean government announced that it would rescind plans to send a senior envoy to the United States for an official visit. "Our delegation cannot visit the U.S. under the present circumstances," said North Korean ambassador to Beijing Chu Chang-Jun. Chu also announced that future talks with South Korea and Japan would depend on a change in attitude from the two countries toward North Korea. "Whether a North-South summit will be open or not depends entirely on the behavior of [South Korean President] Kim Dae-jung," he said. He made almost identical remarks concerning Japanese-North Korean relations saying, "The future of Japan-North Korea talks depends entirely on the attitude of the Japanese government." Still, both Japan and South Korea attempted to play the move to their favor. Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Mikio Aoki reportedly said, "Any opening in the channels of communication with North Korea should be welcomed." South Korea also welcomed the move saying it was in line with Kim's Sunshine Policy of engagement with the North. The South Korean Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry told South Korean media that, "We respect the Italian government's decision, which we consider will help North Korea's integration into the international community." Despite the cautious optimism from both Japan and South Korea, it is apparent that North Korean and Italian relations could endanger the Sunshine Policy, since it is designed to link the North's economy to the South's. These ties may serve to strengthen the North Korean economy by opening up the possibility of European investment. Also, in securing a bridgehead in the industrialized world, North Korea increases its maneuverability, making it more complicated for its neighbors to take measures against the state, in effect weakening the U.S., South Korean and Japanese leverage on the Stalinist state. For Italy, the opening of diplomatic relations with North Korea means something entirely different. Even though Italy is the sixth European Union (EU) member state to forge diplomatic links with Pyongyang, this move enhances Italy's reputation within Europe for forging relations with states on the fringes of the international community. In previous cases, such as with Iran and Libya, Italian openings have led to increased interaction between those countries and the EU as a whole. Jim Chapman, another Democrat from Texas, said banning certain rifles was like outlawing Rolls Royce's because of drunk drivers and the damage they do. But the two sides couldn't be more opposed. Before we plunge into the question of what a so-called assault weapon is, let's back up a few million years and consider their evolution. Our most ancient hominid ancestors learned to throw stones to kill game. Later when they learned how to throw spears, Anthropologists and paleontologists theorized that the act of throwing was a tremendously stressful thing. Combining binocular vision and distance estimation with delicate hand-eye coordination had never been attempted before in nature. Humans pioneered the technique. And one of the consequences of mastering this technique was a more robust nervous system; a nervous system that may be responsible for opening the door to humanity's unique intellectual activity. Spears turned into bows and arrows. And arrows turned to crossbow bolts, and then to firearms. The development of field artillery created a demand for sophisticated mathematics and mathematicians solved problems of ballistic velocities and trajectories. The manufacture of firearms gave birth to precision engineering, concepts of mass production, and breakthrough insights in metallurgy. As a result of the intellectual achievements, master gunsmiths in New England and elsewhere created an economic powerhouse. Guns and intellectual progress seemed to have been intertwined. Rocket science is a direct outgrowth of humankind's fascination with ballistics. Perhaps the most stunning of all these fruits is the development of the computer. The purpose of the world's first computer, Eniac, was to calculate artillery and missile trajectories. In other words, humanity's most astonishing intellectual artifact, the computer, is an offspring of our love affair with guns. Well, that's a truth about guns. Guns exercised our unique intellectual ability. They stimulated many scientific disciplines. They created wealth. And the have defeated enemies from Adolph Hitler to Sadam Hussein. Some people may not like the idea, but a large measure of our success as a species is due to our passion for firearms. This is an uncomfortable truth, because guns serve a dark side of humanity also. War is our dark side. War destroys life and property. And everyone, even brave warriors, justifiably fear it. Weaponry provided food for our tables and served us well in certain crises. But as instruments of war they play a cacophonous distasteful tune. Nobody likes it. People who claim they like war, I believe, are lying to themselves and to the world. But guns do not make war. Guns can hold neither grudges nor hate. Guns are merely instruments. A machine gun can no more launch an attack without a machine gunner than an oboe is to play Mozart without a musician. Instruments are extensions of people. Firearms are merely extensions of people. Firearms, in whatever numbers or whatever configurations, are not the problem. The problem would seem to have its roots in national attitude we have toward correcting things. Where did we develop the idea that personal grievances or social wrongs can be redressed by shooting the bad guy? For example, we do not have the greatest number of handguns per capita. The high cost of remediating radioactive waste sites from nuclear weapons production has stimulated the development of bioremediation strategies using Deinococcus radiodurans, the most radiation resistant organism known. As a frequent constituent of these sites is the highly toxic ionic mercury (Hg) (II), we have generated several D. radiodurans strains expressing the cloned Hg (II) resistance gene (merA) from Escherichia coli strain BL308. We designed four different expression vectors for this purpose, and compared the relative advantages of each. The strains were shown to grow in the presence of both radiation and ionic mercury at concentrations well above those found in radioactive waste sites, and to effectively reduce Hg (II) to the less toxic volatile elemental mercury. When is the last time you can remember using that phrase? For many of us living in the continental United States, a truly clear sky has become a thing of the past. Is this due to the industrialized society that our nation has become? Yes, in part, but what about Montana, Idaho, and Western North Carolina for that matter? What about the quiet neighborhoods and otherwise undisturbed wildlife throughout the United States whose skies are being tainted with clouds which cannot be defined by any meteorologist? The answer is contrails. Contrails are the white/silver cloud-like exhaust from airplanes that are visible from the ground. Normal contrails from commercial planes dissipate and vanish into air. That's nothing new. What is new is the abnormally thick contrails appearing with great frequency as of late from non-commercial planes. These planes are obviously not commercial jets because they fly together in tight formations too close to comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. And they often fly in grid patterns and mark X's in the sky with the contrails they leave behind. The contrails these suspicious planes produce do not immediately dissipate. Instead, they linger across the sky and, after several hours, spread out into what appears to be cloud coverage hovering over us in the sky throughout the day. If you have not noticed them, it is probably because you thought you were seeing clouds, but quite often, on what would be an otherwise clear day, contrails create a partly cloudy atmosphere. And when there are already clouds in the sky, contrails simply blend in with the atmosphere, making them even less detectable. However, quite a few weary observers have taken notice of the suspicious contrails zig-zagging and eventually blanketing the sky. In fact, several websites have formed that are devoted to the research of this bizarre and mysterious trend which has become somewhat of a fixture throughout the U.S. As a result, some unconfirmed theories have come forth which could help to shed some light on the matter. An influx of respiratory illnesses have been reported in areas of heavy contrail activity. Meningitis outbreaks have occurred in several states recently -- North Carolina being one of them. Some who believe they have fallen ill as a direct result of the contrails say the ailments they suffer from are not unlike symptoms of some types of biological warfare. Meanwhile, William Thomas, a veteran award-winning journalist, notes that toll-free tracking numbers across the country are asking people to come forward for tests and treatment -- "if they qualify with specific symptoms incurred within a specific time period within a specific radius of exposure." Shocking as this may sound, it should be noted that U.S. government experiments have been conducted on the American population before. For example, just last year the federal government made a public apology for secretly exposing select men to a painful, contagious and uncurable sexually transmitted disease just to study the effects. According to Thomas, two U.S. Senate investigations in 1977 and 1994 document decades of open air biowarfare testing over the American and Canadian public. Thomas gives a few examples among hundreds of US cities which he says have been the target of open air experiments: In 1950, the U.S. Navy sprayed a cloud of Serratia marcescens bacteria over San Francisco. Monitoring devices tested the extent of infection as many residents fell ill with pneumonia-like symptoms. In 1966 the U.S. Army dispensed Bacillus subtilis variant Niger throughout the New York City subway system. More than a million New Yorkers were exposed. And Minneapolis was hit with the same disease causing bacteria 20 years later in 1997. United States Code - Title 50 - War and National Defense Chapter 32 - Chemical and Biological Warfare Program Sec. 1520 - Biowarfare experimentation on the American public - states that the Secretary of Defense may not conduct any test or experiment involving the use of a chemical or "biological agent" on a civilian population...except for research and law enforcement purposes, including any purpose related to riot control. In the past, China has preferred building their own technological advances into the hulk of surplus equipment, and the last few years have seen an intensive development towards indiginous designs. This is somewhat of a turn around. They seem to be going for a quick build now. Although still pressing for joint development, they seem to be on a spending spree in relation to Air Denial and SLOC equipment. The SU-30 M (M for export class) is considered a superb *ahem* possibly the best multi-role fighter on the market (stomped all over us at the last Paris Air Show) and carries some of the newest and most advanced anti-ship/air-to surface missiles in Russian manufacture. It doubles as a good air-superiority platform, an unusual flexible tube on the engines gives the flaps an extra 15 degree vector thrust making fast turns appears as if the fighter can stop and turn in midair. Similarly, the Sovremenny Class, though older (think big thick bulkheads) is considered a floating missile platform for short and medium range anti-ship missiles, as well as strong anti-air capabilities. The militia is not a, "INVENTION, " it is a development. The militia was born when we felt the danger of tyranny. It was not "created" as something novel or unique. It EMERGED from the body of the people as a NATURAL response to the preceived threat to ourselves, our property, our liberty, and our posterity. We can no more "uncreate" the militia than alter the response of ordinary people to a threat. (This I covered at length in my essay, "The Militia Movement - From Where I Stand" . . . send on request to anyone interested.) The militia cannot just "go away" until justice and peace and security allow it reside once again the the body of the people. 2nd. The militia movement has developed to a level of great potentiality. That is, we have prepared! Semper Vigilio, Semper Paratus. The militia was never the ONLY vehicle to win our liberty, but rather one of several methods available to serve in the struggle. The militia alone is ADJUNT to other, more subtle methods of winning over the hearts and minds of the people. The militia may force open the door of change, but it will never enter. The change will come from a feeling among the body politic that change is necessary. The militia can only attempt to assure that that change is finally made. The militia is NOT the only means to the end. It is one of many. Until that change is made, the militia will not only be NECESSARY, it will be be impossible to expunge! 3rd. There are some who wish to dismantle the militia, or to "dismiss" the need for the militia in this post 2000 era. I cannot stress with enough forcefulness the error of any such suggestion! The militia must GROW and ORGANIZE. The militia has been the brunt of unnumbered criticisms and jokes and accusations. There are those who tease us by saying that we are foolish to organize and elect leaders and to prepare. I would say that our presence may be a joke to those whose private agendas find no place for us, but WE ARE NOT A JOKE TO THE CORRUPT REGIME OF POWER IN WASHINGTON We are a threat to be contended with. SO BE IT!!! These criticisms, from people whose loyalties are in question, only provide support to the origin of the militia. At it's genesis, the militia stood against tyranny, the abuse of power, the corruption of government, and the injustice of a regime that has evacuated God! Nothing has changed! The militia is needed more NOW than ever before. Those who say we should go away only ignite within us a greater desire to remain! Try to do away with us with your words OR YOUR ARMS and we will only grow stronger and remain more resilient against your droning criticisms... Your words are but noise to us! For the record, I'm not in favor of disbanding the militia or breaking it apart. Rather, I support the creation of stronger nation/state identity.
