Bless you for wanting to take him in! Can you borrow a humane trap from your local shelter? Does anyone know if this would tramatize him too much? Sheila, I have no better advice to offer, but want to add that your neighbors should be soundly kicked for leaving their poor old boy in so much trouble. Wendy, Hi my name is Karen, I am new to Feline Leukemia. My Female Maine Coon Cat Ms. Clyde has been diagnosed with non-regenerative anemia and Erythroleukemia. I have an appointment to go to the Oncologist with her tomorrow. Hopefully we can come up with a treatment plan for her. She is doing really well in spite of her diagnosis, eating and drinking on her own, using her litter box and eliminating both no problems, playing, socializing, sunbathing in her two favorite spots, just being her usual self. I have said off and on for the last month that she doesn't know how sick she is. I would love a copy of the Holistic and Regular Care for Sick Kitty. Thanks so much, Hugs and Head-Bumps, Karen in California and her Beautiful Maine Coon Cat Ms. Clyde

Re: I have a sick kitty, help...Immuno-regulin
Some people write a 4 in roman numerals as instead of IV. The notation might then mean a murmur rated at 4 to 5 and that would be a fairly serious one as 5 is the worst. I have no idea why anyone would write this in roman numerals, if that is what this means - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org Sent: Saturday, October 15, 2005 9:40 PM Subject: Re: I have a sick kitty, help...Immuno-regulin My main concern with the Immunoregulin would be the side effects of the high fever and stress it sometime causes immediately on a cat with a severe heart murmur. Definitely something to ask your vet about first. I still am not sure what grade a VI is. heart murmurs need to be handled very carefully. Jenn
RE: I have a sick kitty, help...Immuno-regulin
I ditto good comments on immuno-regulin. My Tucson has had two series each time her white blood count went very low. Both times it came right back up… She had no side effects—had one shot every week for 3 or 4 weeks I think…. I have used it twice with severe URI's (one was pneumonia and the other a URI causing fever and lack of appetite) and it helped a lot. One of my cats had some bad temporary side effects of high fever and chills for about an hour after each dose, but then got a lot better. She got 1 ml intravenously, which is what the author of one of the articles recommends, but the dose in the pill book is .5 to 1 ml, so she got the high end. I would recommend starting with .5 ml. Michele, Sorry to hear about Rascal, but know that there is a great chance that all will be well after this hump you guys are handeling right now. Kittens can be vaccinated at 12 weeks, or so I am told they can also be tested earlier than that, I just vaccinated a 11 week old and all seems to be fine with her. Good luck and keep us posted.
