2017-07-08 Thread Arlen Beiler
You could do { "tree": { "tw": "../../../tw" } } and put that in
_bucket/tserver (which would make it readable from the browser -- not
recommended! Or you could do { "tree": { "crusoe_or_whatever":
"../../tw_crusoe" } } and so on.

Remember, all paths are relative to settings.json.

Sounds, good. Always good to get the word out :)

Re: [tw] Re: Dungeon Game in TW : The URL

2017-07-08 Thread Jan

Hi Dave,
thanks for trying and for giving me the feedback that the Game needs
more explanation.
Use the Arrows in the navigate-sidebar-tab to navigate. The labyrint
will show while moving through it, the interaction happens in Modals.
You can see the level in the Dungeon-Editor...which is important to make
your own level.
My main goal was to create a plattform in which my pupils can tell
text-based advantures so my first level is rather a demonstration of
what is possible than a real level.
I hope this helps a little, please tell me if you need more
help...especially when creating a level.

You just unzipped? No install? Not sure how that works (how does Windows
find node?) but if that's how you installed then it should be OK to just
delete.

The regular install, according to some sources, changes the registry. And
I'm pretty sure that it puts itself on the path (unless I did that and
forgot )

[tw] Re: [TW5] parse and style a tiddler content

2017-07-08 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
I didn't use any stylesheet stuff with this, though I imagine there are
ways to approach it that would. I created the "tip" with *span
title="stuff"*

If you create a data tiddler (be sure to mark it's type at the bottom of
the tiddler) with this data and call it, for example, Quiz1 :

tiddler: the smallest semantic unit
field: a semantic unit smaller than a tiddler

And then set up these macros (perhaps globally):

\define getanswer() {{$(tiddler)$##$(question)$}}
\define makequiz(quiz)
<$vars tiddler="$quiz$">
<$list filter="[[$quiz$]] +[indexes[]]" variable="question">

<$wikify name="answer"  text=<> >
''Term'': >>//<>//

\end

Then you can create a list of terms based on Quiz1 by invoking like this:

<>

When you hover over a term, it's definition will pop up.

2017-07-08 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
There might be a way to do it through the node.js command prompt, so it's
not bad thinking.

It looks like you have a comma in a place it shouldn't be.

Good luck,
Mark

If you paste it into a JSON validator online it should tell you what the
trouble is. As you can see, it says unexpected token in JSON, which means,
in this case, that the settings file is not formatted correctly (JSON is a
little picky).

And the zip (binary) package will not change the registry. So you can just
delete the files. The msi (installer) package may add something to the
registry and does change PATH, unless you tell it not to. But Node does not
use the registry for normal operation, that I know of. I could be wrong
though.

[tw] Re: [TW5] Extracting things from a randomly selected tiddler

2017-07-08 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
Tobias <$setvar> and TW5 <$set> interpret filters differently, returning
list items that internally have square brackets. My work-around was to
strip them off with the removeprefix and removesuffix filter operators
before looking for tags. Please excuse that I've changed the criteria to
meet my available test data:

\define predb() [[
\define postdb() ]]
<$setvars _r="[tag[ToDo]!tag[Template]random[1]]" random="[r]">
<> has tags --
<$list filter="[title]
[titleremoveprefixremovesuffix]+[tags[]]" >
<$view field="title"/>

This seems to work and take into account titles with spaces and titles
without. Hopefully.

Good luck,
Mark

After making your changes in settings.json, you just launch the server

If you want to do this in a single click you probably need a simple batch
file (at least that's what I did).

[tw] [TW5] parse and style a tiddler content

2017-07-08 Thread paolo b
Hi

I have the following problem:

a tiddler has a number of lines, each containing text formatted as follows:

 word: definition

I would like to apply a function to this tiddler so that
each definition gets hidden (e.g. as a tooltip or blanked) and a definition
is revealed
only when moving over "word" - kind of a flashcard.

Further constraints:
The original tiddler should be preserved.
The function should be applicable to many, similarly formatted tiddlers.

Any advice on how to proceed will be greatly appreciated!

Paolo

[tw] Re: TW5 View Template when displaying in tabs?

Lost Admin.

I just stumbled here, and wanted a good answer myself. I have just found
the ad hoc macro https://tobibeer.github.io/tb5/#Ad-Hoc%20Macro
The Macros name is "="

and place in any tiddler that may be referenced in a tab
<<= $(currentTab)$>>

This does not appear unless the tiddler is in a tab. Is that what you are
after?

I will now try and get it somehow into the viewtemplate or tab macro.

Yes, the rest is basically just NPM related stuff that you don't need.
Everything is contained in the node executable.

[tw] Editing node.js TW server through command line or linux / python scripts

2017-07-08 Thread Fidel N
Hey all!

Im trying to add / edit tiddlers of my node.js TW server through python
scripts in that same server.
What I do right now is to create the tiddler files, then restart the TW,
and after restarting the TW server it will show those new tiddlers.

The objetive would be to be able to run a script from the host, and, for
instance, create a tiddler, or remove a tag from another, and have the
server recognize that change without having to reboot the TW, which is
always risky because if I were using the TW from the web, all my changes
would be lost.

I find no documentation at all about how to use TW rest api. Is this
the
way to do it? If so, is there any example on how to create a new tiddler
via command line on an already initialized server? (IE, when using the
commad "tiddlywiki", how do you identify which server you want to create
your tiddler on?

Please, could someone give me any clue?

Thanks!

Re: [tw] Re: Should TiddlyServer include TiddlyWiki and Node?

2017-07-08 Thread @TiddlyTweeter
Ciao Arlen

I'm on TiddlyServer 2.0.5. I need a bit of help configuring the

*settings.json.*My aim is for a Portable Version. I am on Windows 7.

The settings.json gives this for the core paths ...

"tree": {
"alias": "C:/my folder path",
"alias2": {
"alias2child": "relative folder path"
}

What I want to do is this:

1 - RUN it from C:/bag/pages/tw/_bucket/tserver

2 - FOR TiddlyWikis found in sub dirs of C:/bag/pages/tw, such as
"C:/bag/pages/tw/tw_crusoe/tw_crusoe.html" &
"C:/bag/pages/tw/tw_tweeter/tiddlytweeter.html"

3 - I want ALL paths RELATIVE so I can copy the install over
 to a pen drive without any path issues (i.e. fully portable).

Can you help me get the *settings.json* correct for this? I fiddled about but
its not working. Maybe I am doing relative paths wrong?

Best wishes
Josiah

Re: [tw] Re: Should TiddlyServer include TiddlyWiki and Node?

2017-07-08 Thread Arlen Beiler
Well, that is only necessary if you are redistributing your copy to the
public. In this case, you are the end user, so there is no need. Obviously
if you give someone else your copy, you should let them know where they can
find TiddlyServer and Node online, but that would probably be enough
attribution for person to person sharing. Of course, I'm not a lawyer, and
this should not be construed to be legal advice. But in the spirit of
attribution, letting them know that the Node binary is freely available
from NodeJS.org should be enough, in my opinion.

You can if you want, just make sure you rename it so as to not confuse it
with the TiddlyServer license.

2017-07-08 Thread @TiddlyTweeter
Ciao Arlen

Your license is "LICENSE.md", right? Node's is just "LICENSE". So they can
co-habit. The only reason I ask is because I am very aware that open source
is badly exploited and I just like to pay a bit of attention to that, the
work others have done deserves some credit, even if only for my own eyes.
On your suggestion I will rename it.
