[Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 2003239] Re: Sync blender 3.4.1+dfsg-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Fair enough. I must admit I'm not familiar with the libtbb-dev changes and I might be missing something here. :) I am somewhat confused now though. Looks like requestsync skipped a bullet point when listing the Ubuntu delta. Looking at https://patches.ubuntu.com/b/blender/blender_3.3.1+dfsg-1ubuntu3.patch My interpretation is that the build dependency was switched from version-less to version2. But then it was later switched back to version-less (although possibly from a different source package). So based on the diff in the patch above, the only delta I can see is the changelog entries and replacing Maintainer in the control file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to blender in Ubuntu. I took the liberty of adjusting the tags to the official one. Looking at the publishing history [1] it looks like one of the reasons why this package was originally removed from Ubuntu was because it used older libraries. Since you mention that you had a fresh install, could you try checking for (and installing) any updates which may be available. [Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 1756555] Re: Include openshot.developers stable PPA contents in default Ubuntu repos
Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better. Apt is merely installing the available packages, so I've moved this issue to the openshot package itself. Most packages in Ubuntu are synced without changes from Debian, so if the package versions are lagging behind upstream, I would recommend reaching out to the Debian maintainer to coordinate and work together on new releases. Since the developers are maintaining a PPA, there should be (hopefully) only minor changes required to get official packages into the archive. While investigating, I found that openshot has been removed from Debian (see https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/openshot and especially https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=889742), and therefore in turn Ubuntu bionic. However, the bug report mentions it has been replaced by openshot-qt (https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/openshot-qt) and this seems to come from the same upstream project. (Not familiar with either package, so feel free to correct me) Openshot-qt will be available in the upcoming Ubuntu 18.04 with what seems to be a matching version to the upstream one, 2.4.1-2build2, https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openshot-qt. So it looks like this might be resolved? ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #889742 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=889742 ** Tags added: upgrade-software-version -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to openshot in Ubuntu. This problem exists irrespective of whether installed from the software boutique or from a terminal First issue: Musescore locks up on launch when trying to select initial type of score. It does this the majority of the time. Sometimes it eventually unlocks and allows one to continue. Sometimes it crashes completely and closes Second issue: Assuming one has got past the initial lock up and has got Musescore fully open, many of the menu items are fantastically tiny such that they are impossible to visually identify or use. This seems to be a problem limited to the version that UM 16.04 is using: I have just installed Lubuntu 16.04 in a VM and installed Musescore from a terminal. It turns out the version it is using is 2.0.2. So, one iteration below the one used by UM. I can confirm none of these problems are present in the Lubuntu version of Musescore. My system has also ttf-mscorefonts-installer installed which utilizes custom rules to emulate the sharp looking fonts behavior Windows systems had. But installing fonts-dejavu-core alone causes this sharp look to get aliased again in the most places. A workaround for fontconfig-config is to install fonts-liberation as it seems to not break the sharp look. I can't tell exactly which of the 3 possible packages is the main cause for this issue: - Is that the installation of fonts-dejavu-core alone breaks the look a bug? - Needs ttf-mscorefonts-installer an update to take over priority or such? - Or is it possible that fontconfig-config could also technically support ttf-mscorefonts-installer as additional fonts dependency choice? Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better. I don't get an error message like this when attempting to install audacious on Ubuntu 16.04. >(is it the same version with a different name? ) It's two different versions. Though from what I can see (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+2.0), is version "2.24.30-1ubuntu1.16.04.1" so far only available in the -proposed archive. In other words, it hasn't gone through all the steps to be pushed out as an official update. Have you installed packages from -proposed? If that is the case, there might be additional rebuilds of libraries like gtk2-engines-pixbuf needed before it can be released. I've taken the liberty of marking gtk2.0 as also affected just in case. Could you please add the whole error message you got when attempting to install adacious? ** Tags added: xenial ** Also affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to audacious in Ubuntu. [Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 1581180] Re: Update to Shotwell 0.24.x
Debian has packaged 0.25.4+really0.24.5-0.1 (they rolled back from 0.25) in Sid. I see that the current version in Ubuntu carries a delta though, so a newer version will likely need to be merged from Debian (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Merging). [Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 1464876] Re: Please update Game_Music_Emu plugin to 0.6.0
Sorry, I might have been mistaken intially. The game-music-emu package has been updated to 0.6.0 in Ubuntu 16.04 and later, as mentioned above. See also http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/libgme0. But it looks like the audacious plugin is "based on" Game_Music_Emu, and therefore (completely?) independent of the standalone package. I'm not sure if this should be reported as a new bug, but it might be my fault for moving the report to the game-music-emu package in the first place, so I've marked audacious-plugins as also affected. ** Attachment added: "about.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/game-music-emu/+bug/1464876/+attachment/4795682/+files/about.png ** Also affects: audacious-plugins (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to audacious-plugins in Ubuntu. Looks like this cause some problems when upgrading though, because it attempts to add the new dependency before replacing the old package. We followed Debian to unsplit here as the upstream source for both is argyll. The libicc2 source package in Universe can get dropped. Availability: Currently available in Universe, building on all currently supported architectures, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/argyll Rationale: In Oneiric we want to introduce ICC-based color management on the operating system level, using the same architecture as Fedora does. argyll (support for color calibration) and libicc2 (ICC handling library) are part of this architecture. Therefore we need them in Main. This MIR is a work item of the following Blueprint: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/desktop-o-icc-color- management According to the Blueprint additional demand on CD space for the whole introduction of color management is around 300K only. Security: No security vulnerabilities known at CVE and Secunia for the current version (1.3.3), vulnerabilities of older versions are all fixed, no SUID components, no daemons. Quality assurance: Installs without debconf questions. The package is maintained upstream as new releases occur regularly and they get packaged for Debian by Roland Mas (see debian/changelog). UI standards: The package are a library and command line utilities. The complete upstream documentation is available in /usr/share/doc/argyll/. Packages for Uuntu 14.x, 12.04 and 15.04 are available at ppa:inkscape.dev/stable - see https://launchpad.net/~inkscape.dev/+archive/ubuntu/stable This release marks the culmination of a multi-year effort to switch to a new internal graphics rendering engine, Cairo. This brings performance enhancements and more accurate rendering of drawings. A new Trace Pixel Art feature enables creation of vector art from bitmaps, sprites, and icons. A new Symbols Library provides reusable graphics elements - you can even read in Visio symbol libraries. New Snapping options and improved Snap preferences make it easier to quickly place items in the alignments you need. The tools for arranging objects offer several new ways to position the elements of a drawing. Tons of other little improvements have been made across all the other tools as well. Several new file formats are supported, including FXG, SIF and HTML5 export; and VSD and CDR import. EMF/WMF are now readable and writable for all platforms. And XCF, PDF, EPS, and PS+LaTeX support are improved. Inkscape has a rich Extension ecosystem, which is well known for bringing clever, cool, and innovative new ideas. Over a dozen new extensions are added in this release, including an Isometric Grid Generator, a Bitmap Cropper, a Text Extractor and a Text Merger, an HSL Adjuster, a Font Replacer, a Voronoï Diagram Creator, and more.
