Re: I phone six
I prefer the height of the 5 vs the 4. It's nice having that extra row of icons. Also even though the 5 and 5s is taller I find that they fit better in my hand. As far as memory goes like others have said it's a matter of preference but I prefer more memory. I have a 64gb phone which only has 12gb of space left. I realize that's still a lot but any smaller phone would not have worked for me. On 1/20/14, Ron Pelletier ron.pellet...@sympatico.ca wrote: Hi Alan, Sure sounds like a beautiful device. My old netbook has problems of it's own and neither one of us wanted another windows computer. My wife still has her iPhone 4 and says for phone calling it's good enough. It sure was an eye opener when I first touched the air. As it turned out, the young fellow who took care of us at the ATT store has a blind father so this kid knew what would be important to me He even turned voice over on for me to check it out. The screen layout does appear to be a little different then that on my 5s. Of course after you buy a phone or an iPad, then they tell you, you'll be wanting a case to protect that new device. I know how that's played, you get a case for 50 bucks that you could of bought where for 25. The young fellow says ok remember one thing, on your iPhone you can use dictation for your text messages and emails but on your iPad, you may want to do more complex documents and if your using your new iPad Air as a replacement for your netbook, you'll probably want a case with a built-in keyboard. So he had 2 of them to show us. One was made by Belkin. This case has a keyboard built in and of course it works like apple keyboards. The iPad fits into a sleeve sideways which turns your iPad Air into a small laptop complete with QWERTY keyboard. The Belkin case also permits you to adjust by 3 settings the degree of tilt of your screen/iPad. I don't remember who made the second case he showed us but it seemed to be made a bit more rugged then the Belkin and did not permit you to adjust the screen tilt. It also had more keys. There were a hole another row of keys. They appear to be the F keys where as the first model, the Belkin only seemed to have typing keys. The way I've been using my Amazon Basics Bluetooth keyboard was I did all the actions by touching the screen and the only time I did any typing was when I had opened up a text box. I have no intension of learning all kinds of keyboard commands when I don't need to. Of course my new iPad Air will take 7 to 9 business days to arrive not to mention then having to wait for my wife to drive us over to the ATT store. The kid says you can have it shipped directly to your home but I personally wouldn't do it. Why not I said. Because there have been a rash of stolen products and when yours arrives at your house, you open up the box and find that that's all you've got. An empty box.If you have it shipped to the store, we'll call you when it arrives and if it's an empty box, we'll order another one for you and the store will fight with the post office. Hey, works for me. We'll come and pick it up,. I didn't really look at the sides of the iPad air all that well. As I held the air, it was like holding a huge iPhone with what felt like the up/down volume controls on the right side of the unit instead of the left and there was what felt like another button above that. The button to turn and off the iPad seemed to be on the top right corner. There appeared to be an ear phone jack on the top left and I think I saw the plug for the lightening connector on the bottom along with what I thought was the home key. If anybody who owns an air could give me a better description of the layout of buttons and jacks I certainly will appreciate it. There appeared to be an ear phone jack on the top left and I think I saw the plug for the lightening connector on the bottom along with what I thought was the home key

Hi Alan, I am just curious why using Skype on an iPad seems strange to you. People use Skype on all sorts of devices, on computers for one, PC and Mac, after all, when I started using Skype around 2005 there were very few devices which allowed you to use Skype other than a computer. My Mom has an iPad 2 and we use Facetime or Skype all the time with and without video and when my parents are travelling my Mom always brings her iPad which allows her to use whatever WiFi network is available to send emails, call mme with Facetime or use Skype to call regular phones. For somebody older who benefits from the larger screen of an iPad but who doesn't have a laptop to take along I think the iPad is a perfect mobile communications device. I phone six
Does anyone know, when the I phone six will be out, and when it comes out, if the space is being upgraded, from say a 64 gig model to a higher gig model? I only have a 16 gig i phone 4s now. Its so frustrating because I have so little space left, and at moment i only have 70 aps, no music on it, about 8 photos, and one or two books, and i only have 7 gigs left. I use spotify and jango and other streaming sources so that I dont need to put music on it. Still my space is so limited and its so frustrating. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Seven gigs is no great storage, but nor is it something to sneeze at. With so much going up to the clouds nowadays, internal storage will become less critical. Mind you, it's your money, but if you want to maximize it, consider taking out a subscription for additional space in the clouds where you could potentially synchronize with other computers and devices. I have a 16 gig, and when I go for the iPhone 6 later this year, I see no reason to upgrade the flash. Re: I phone six
I have a different opinion. I believe you should buy an iPhone, iPad, etc with the largest size hard drive you can afford. It's not like they have an SD card where if it gets full you just buy a bigger one. Storing your stuff on the cloud is fine if you have access to it. If you travel and find yourself in an area where you can't find WI-FI or Cellular data, all that stuff in the cloud is useless to you if you can't get at it. It's better to have that 128 GB hard drive and put the music in the cloud if need be because if you can't get at that, it's not the end of the world. And lastly, I'd rather wait until I've put the money aside so that I can get what I want rather than what I think I have to settle for. Re: I phone six
I don't think there's a universal or right or wrong answer to this question. It comes down to how each individual will use there phone. I have a 16G iPhone. I keep it pretty full, but I've never regretted not getting a larger capacity iPhone. If I'd paid more for a 64G iPhone then I would have just been wasting money. That's what I use to say until I got an iPhone that moved me up from my 32 GB iPhone 4 to my 64 GB iPhone 5s. So I have all my music on it. All 23 GB of it And I have a few GB to play with. Had I gone for the 32 GB model I wouldn't of. I also like to travel and have find myself so far out in the sticks that there was no connection at all. I used my iPhone as my stereo and connected to my Bose sound dock 10 and enjoyed the music my wife and I like. We like each other's company as well as traveling so it does work for us but what works for us may not work for everybody else. I've explained why it works for me. RE: I phone six
Hi Alan, Totally agree with you. I prefer to have with me everything I need. Anything else can go in the cloud. Ron Danvers From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Alan Paganelli Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2014 1:40 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: I phone six I have a different opinion. I only have a 16 gig i phone 4s now. Hi no doubt Apple will create a phablet in line with the existing phablets that are on the market today. A phablet is a cross between a phone and a tablet. RE: I phone six
I hope not. From a sighted user's perspective the larger screen makes sense, but I think even the latest generation of iPhones is too tall. So much for portability, but as wearable technology continues to take hold, I fear companies will see value in making larger screens since a person need only look at their wrist to perform key tasks without ever hauling out the monster. I guess we'll need to adjust. :) -- Twitter: @ScribblingJoe Visit my blog: http://joeorozco.com/blog -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Chris H Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2014 3:35 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: I phone six Hi no doubt Apple will create a phablet in line with the existing phablets that are on the market today.
