Just give me a minute to dig them up.

this problem is fixed in 4.2.2.* server coding. What i'd
like to know if the entry in the TSM database is reset when connecting with
the original Netware node. If at all possible. We are waiting on the answer
so we don't upgrade the problem too.
Good luck

i would like to see, is that the TSM server prevents
the update in the database for a specific node when the client platforms
don't match, or when there is only read actions involved. Like queries or

Did any of you run into such a problem too?
Does anyone know of a way to prevent someone from performing the connect

Is this problem known to Tivoli? If yes, what is being done on this issue?
Any comment is appreciated.

If your assigned db capacity isn't sufficient, extend or reduce it first,
depending on your situation.

Hi,
I'd suggest to move it to it's own filesystem placed on an redundant disk
array, enjoying high performance and recoverability.
We placed our database volumes on an ESS subsystem. Where you place it is
your own choice. Just try to achieve redundancy.
Have fun.

Continue splitting data/index/log/rollback/temp and place them on different

In order to do a database restore with the current releases, you need to
define a manual library.
I found it out the hard way, so i had to reinstall the TSM server code.

Subject: TSM Restore Using 349X lib failes.
Hello you guru's.
Last weekend we did a migration to a
pe library to do the restore. Automated
restore db's used to work fine.
How come it doesn't work now?
Could this be a bug?
Or did we make a mistake after all?

Well Todd,
This is the TSM default. In order to get the output in the required format
you need to use the -outfile option. This way you will get the output as if
you are at the admin command line.
Like this:
dsmadmc -id= -pa= -outfile= "your select goes
here"
Ilja
Joshua,
I understand if there is no TSM specific option. If it is an AIX solution,
this is perfect too. Any help/tips are appreciated.

Hello there Selva,
By default TSM user port 1500 for TCP/IP traffic. So by enabling port 1500
in the firewall bidirectional for the TSM server and the client node, the
TSM client and server should be able to communicate. It would be advisable
to use NAT though.
BE AWARE. TSM port 1500 is default
The easiest way to find this info is in the accounting info.
You could make a script to stop accounting, process the file (copy/move to
tempfile) and start accounting. You can process the accounting-file in any
way you like. This way you could make a day-by-day analisys of your server
load. We use

Why are we doing this tests?
We are trying to find out if it is usefull for us to run TSM on mainframe
rather than on AIX.
If you are willing to share your experiences with us, we would grately

You can also audit the volume that claims to be part of that storage pool.
This usually works fine.

As far as i know AIX doesn't support automatic failover for tape devices by
default. For this to accomplish you need to build it yourself, or install
third party software.
As an example: we have connected an ESS to our S70 - ADSM Server using 4 FC
adapters. AIX correctly detects each harddisk 4 t
Hi all,
Almost everyone is right, but it needs to be mentioned that checkin using
barcode only works on libraries that are scsi controled (LIBTYPE=SCSI). If
you use ATLDD (Automatic Tape Library Device Driver)(LIBTYPE=349X) using a
network connection this feature will not work.

You should see 1 dbvol indeed. We have our ADSM diskpools and db on an ESS
subsystem. This ESS is attached thru 4 fibers so bandwith or i/o-wait should
not be the problem.
Our dialy backup process involves many systems, about 75 NT boxes with user
data and some 50 AIX boxes. THe user data mutates
Peter,
At the client, open the registry-editor and find the ADSM keys.

The path will not be found because of the space in program file. This is a

Yes you can, but you need to upgrade to at least 3.1.2.50. We needed to do

But when you use both tape lengths at the same time you have to do the
