Yes, this worked very well! I did a test burn, it started at ~7x and
ended with ~16x, reported average write speed was 9.8x for abo

Hello,
I just got a new NEC ND-3540A writer and some Verbatim 16x DVD+R media. I
can't seem to write them at 16x in Linux though, cdrecord-ProDVD offers
6x as maximum and even that starts off at 4x for the first 800 MB or so
and then accelerates to 6x. I notice with -prcap (output follows) the

With Linux 2.4, it's only enabled if the sector size is a multiple of

Hello,
My Teac DV-W50E, actually a rebadged Pioneer 105, gave up the ghost,

What's the output format of readcd -c2scan? It seems individual sectors
are 2646 bytes and it's not just extra bytes in the end or beginning.
Actually, what I'm after is if there's an easy way to compare an image
read with readcd -c2scan to an original image with 2048 byte sectors?

My question exactly. And right now, the answer is use cdrdao and ide-scsi.
Maybe at some point cdrecord will add support for that or cdrdao will
be updated.

otherwise. gtoaster is the first one I found which burns audio from mp3s. I

Hello,
I have a performance problem writing audio discs at 16x in Linux. Cdrecord
1.11a17 can just barely keep its fifo filled during the burn, mostly. Data
burns are not a problem, 12x audio burns are also not a problem, or
it seems I have barely enough horsepower to manage that, but burning

Are you saying you have no reason to do this on this list but you do

As for the original question, filter on the To: and Cc: headers on
this list. I at least don't want any extra clutter on the subject
line. I read my mail on a WAP phone sometimes and it would be nice to
