@Nico: I just tested 4.4.0-38 and the cifs automount regression reported
here does seem to be fixed. What you're experiencing must be different
somehow, so please open a new bug by running 'ubuntu-bug linux' in a
terminal. Include as much information as possible about your environment

This is fairly typical - driver authors add support for newer firmware
before it is released to upstream linux-firmware. Sometimes (especially
with iwlwifi) that firmware is never officially released, but the driver
just complains and falls back to an older version.

Both were upstreamed well after 4.4 was released. I really wish they'd
push out firmware more in sync with kernel support.
@tjaalton: We have an older version of the skl_* firmware; I assume the
driver will fall back to using that. Is there a reason we want the
update?
However we don't have any k

Hello @sforshee,
I'm sorry but in my case does not work. I tried with kernel 4.4.0.36 and
it works correctly, so it's a kernel problem for sure.
The command for mounting is:
sudo mount -t cifs //windowsdomain.ad/carpetes/documents
/home/nico/mnt/carpetes -o
user=nico,password=mypassword,domain=w
>From irc discussion there aren't any actual hardware support problems,
so closing as invalid.

I seem to experience a kernel crash (or application crash in early
moments of this bug) due to Hyper-V ballooning (or at least dynamic
memory). I am using Xenial on Hyper-V on Windows Server 2012 64bit. I
started using dynamic memory (1024 Kb start memory, allowed growing to
3072 Kb). Apparently th

@Nico: I'm not denying that you're seeing a problem, I just do not
believe it to be the same as the problem originally reported on this
