I use my epson PX820 with the scanner built in. it's pretty reasonable.
I used to use a umax powerlook scanner back in the days of SCSI interfaces and
it was amazing for document translation. I have one here about to be set up on
a mac ready to go out.

if you're using OS X lion, you can download XCode for free through the app
store.
app development takes quite a time to master and it's useful to get to grips
with basic coding. There's some good resources in standard programming, it's
handy to learn how the macintosh language

ffrom my own experience, I use X Code to code certain products, but after that,
I send my work off to a chap I know who can work on the GUI and between us work
on voiceover tune ups.

as an IT Tech, there's times I'd like to tether my iphone to the mac as a quick
modem where internet access isn't available, especially when getting hold of
drivers or emergency files, etc. I don't want to be in the position of paying

code, get a price on a product without finding a member of staff who quite

speech synthesis server is a hidden item loading at startup. it will announce
it self on login to desktop but it isn't something you need to interact with.
it's just how OS X behaves.

voiceover may have crashed. if your key settings are the same, Command fn F5
should restart it.
if not, with gestures enabled, triple tap with 3 fingers, should solve it. if
not, restart the mac and do the same.
