Yes, that definitely is!
I'll take this also as a reminder to go through all the app options again :)
Thank you!

Dear Domas,
In MLO android, Settings>General Settings>Quick Date selections
Change due date → start date
If you frequently set bort start & due date, then choose "Do Not Open any
date"
Hope this is helpful :-)

Yes, hold menu does give some useful shortcuts (I'm particularly using it
to add Contexts and to Delete tasks). However its Date button means "Due
date", which I'm not using very much. There's now way of setting it up to
launch "Start date". Maybe that's slightly different on Android, I'm not

Though MLO does have the problem of a lot of taps to do some frequent
adjustments, there's often more than one way to do things. For your example

As a side note the Android app suffers a lot from this problem (too many
clicks to complete things).
As an example, when I'm using Inbox (Google's email app) I can delay tasks
with two clicks:
1. slide the item to the side
2. select the desired time.
In MLO I'm using *Start Date* to in
I agree with you, Domas. People have systems with varying complexity. My
goal is to use as few parameters as possible, to minimize the time I spend
clicking an editing tasks and to maximize the time I have for actually
doing those tasks. (Having said that, I do spend a lot of time writing a

that is a ton of steps...
what's exactly are the main benefits or good points of doing that exactly?

Using Contexts to manage my real-world importance of my tasks is messy, as
it will cluttering up my Contexts.
However your suggestion also raises a deeper problem with MLO. The thing is
that I am already using a large number of views - one for each real-work
"context".
And now it sounds like
No. I am already using Star for "attempt to do today".
Also it is binary (on-off), whereas I want to have degrees of importance,
so that when I have more time on my hands I can start clearing the
technically "less important" tasks.

Yes I already use the Importance column. Yes I use multi-line selections.
Yes, I find it useful.
The problem is that in general I need to evaluate the importance of each
task separately.

My take on this is to use Context + shortcut key.
Create any level of context u need (100, 80, 60, 40, 20, 10...etc)
Assign each context using the NUM (ctrl+1 for "10", ctrl+2 for"20"...ctrl+0
for "100")
Then, create VIEWS for all the different CONTEXT and assign shortcut to
them (Alt+1 to show
What if you use star (ctrl+shift+s) as importance marker?

No shortcut key that I can find, John. However, how about including the
"importance" column in one of your views? You can then select multiple
tasks, right-click on the importance column and select one of 7 preset
levels of importance. If you're editing multiple tasks at the same time, it
