I've never had the pleasure of using a Tascam recorder..but sounds like it'd
be fun (if they weren't too expensive)..as I understand it, they're great
for putting multiple tracks of music (one can do their own "one-man-band"

As I recall..some of the talking book machines used the "diamond" needles;
some of them used the "Safire" needles; usually..I found that the diamond
needles sounded the best! The "Safire" ones seemed to make the records
sound scratchy!

least at the School For The Blind that I attended, people did that sort of
thing on a regular basis..and I don't know that it did any major damage to

But that really makes no difference as a sub-woofer only gives you base (and
nothing else! So whether it's in "mono" or "stereo", out of the sub-woofer,
you hear base..either way.

I've found this out for myself)..in the digital world, if you turn the
volume down, it goes down to a point; then just cuts off! It's this way on
my JVC stereo receiver; when it gets to a certain point, instead of the
sound continuing to taper off, it just "cut

better, the sound would be better; not necessarily so!

Yeah..and now it doesn't even have that same intensity anymore; when I
listen to a stereo recording, it almost sounds now like the same instruments
are coming through both channels! Not so in the 60s; fact is..if you didn't
have both speakers on, you didn't get all the instr
But if I'm understanding this correctly, the problem is that it's not only
changing Winamp's volume..but changing the speech output as well; do I have

This depends upon which version of Windows Media is being used; if it's
