the "lost" messages using the Browse Deleted Messages
option, then select the Message menu > Undelete option. This
will put the messages back where they were before you deleted them.

shortcut Ctrl+= to show all messages if I want to see everything.
Set shortcuts via Alt+F12 then look down to find Main Menu > View >
Display > Only Unread Messages and double click to open the box to set
the shortcut. It's extremely simple and effective.

forwarded a copy of the original message with the attachment to
myself at this mail address (gmx) and it appeared exactly as it
should do.
Is it because the recipient is using the Apple Mailer or is it
something else that I've overlooked somewhere?
it's dependant on which
Windows version you're using? My folder order (under Win 98)
stays exactly as I put them in alpha order or any other order I
choose. They did under 1.x and they still do even under 2.01.
