hibernate to point to your database (it's fairly simple to do, just edit
the file and uncomment the relative area, adding in account details as

scratching our heads over the same issue on a new xwiki implementation

I don't think that's something that can be solved by changes on xwiki, since
your access to the feed (if I understand you right) is configured with a proxy.
XWiki feeds out on a local server should work just fine though, provided you
can access the server.

For me, there's only ever been one time I've had a problem running an
update, and that was when the history issue was resolved. Thats running
a database that was generated manually for 0.9 over 2 years ago, and

IE doesn't support transparency very well in PNG's (all IE versions
prior to IE7) - you can get around it though using some script.

In most of my tools, a user selection dropdown is used to allow someone
to be picked as a "owner" of a task, or assignement, etc. With a large
volume of users (often with same first names), I can't use either login
name (which is based on our network login); or the user's first name
alone
I try to use groups to determine my rights wherever possible, so for me I just
do a check on the user's group membership.

You can do most of this with space preferences; just put the animation
on a page in the new space.
To setup the space preferences, go into the Administration panel (under
the user profiel/logout links at the top right if you are logged as
admin).

Easiest thing to do would be to use a CSS tool like TopStyle Lite
(free). You need to modify \css\table\table.css under the skin folder;
assuming you're using the default skin.

Second thing to check:
Could be an older version of Groovy in xwiki than what you're testing with in
your scripts. I know this sort of scripting worked
Check that you're using correct case as well.
Also, you will need to be careful with quote marks, as these need to be
escaped by putting two together before sending into a sql query - so for
example, O'Hara Airport should read O''Hara Airport when added to a sql
statement.

I took a quick look at "access another database from xwiki in groovy"; this
quick snippet -seems- to work (this uses mysql)

The Xwiki system has it's own internal database structure; called using
"$xwiki.search(type_hql_here)".

Make sure to add in the space, otherwise it won't know what group you're
referring to:
$user.isUserInGroup("XWikiAdminGroup") should read
$user.isUserInGroup("XWiki.XWikiAdminGroup").
Note that there is an easier way to get admin rights though; by using
"hasAdminRights()". Otherwise use the isU
There is an easy solution, just replace the file from the origional
release. Then you can hide the features using HTML comment tags like
so:

I usally do it the long way round:
1) Disable tomcat/other-java-container
2) Full backup of database. MySQL has this feature as part of it's admin gui.
3) Move xwiki folder from the old tomcat server to the new one. Make sure
tomcat is disabled on new server.
4) Restore database to the new serv
