[AI] Star key not working in Nokia 5320
Hi friends, My Nokia 5320 is misbehaving in a lot of ways in last 1 day. Amongst all, the major problem I'm facing is that the star key is not working and hence I'm not able to unlock the key pad. As a result, I can't try anything like formatting, restoring factory settings, uninstall talks etc. So, can anyone guide me as to any way in which I can unlock the key pad without using the star key? I have tried restarting the phone which is not possible without unlocking the key pad. I have even tried taking out the battery and then putting it in. But still the same problem persists. I can't make any outgoing calls and can only receive incoming calls. -- G. Dear Ashik Sir, Well, a doubt: Are you refering to MS' OE 2003 or simple OE 6 which comes with xp? Considering the latter case, I would say that it is easy to operate wlm but after some settings have been changed. Where as in the formar case, I am not in a position to comment because I once logged in to ms OE 2003 and I found it horrible so I never retried using it. A note! According to FS official support, they don't support wlm as of now. But surely it does work good with J11 after changed settings. As far as Jaws is concerned, Jaws 11 works pretty well with windows 7. I can confidently say that for a basic user, there are no problems in using windows 7 with Jaws. However, apps like windows media center or whatever the exact name is of that TV recording application are not fully accessible with Jaws. Only you might dislike the email client Windows Live Mail with windows 7 as win 7 does not come with Outlook Express. You can contact me anytime for getting started with windows 7. I can say that once you are comfortable with windows 7, you will certainly like its easier navigation performance and other things. I don't think that you will need to read any tutorials etc for using windows 7. Tutorials are available, but I don't remember the sources. You can joine the blind windows 7 yahoo group. A soldier who was blinded by a rocket propelled grenade in Iraq three years ago has been fitted with a device that allows him to see with his tongue, enabling him to visualise shapes, read words and walk unaided. Lance Corporal Craig Lundberg, 24, from Walton, Liverpool, lost his sight while on patrol with the 2nd Battalion Duke of Lancaster's in Basra in 2007. He has been selected by the Ministry of Defence to test the BrainPort miniature video camera and sensory equipment, which could revolutionise treatment for blind patients. The device works by converting visual images into a series of electrical pulses that are relayed to the tongue. The differing strengths and patterns of the tingles can be interpreted to build up a picture of surroundings and enable users to navigate around objects. The device consists of a tiny video camera attached to a pair of sunglasses. It is linked by wires to a plastic lollypop-like sensor which users place on their tongue to receive the electrical impulses. It feels like licking a nine-volt battery or like popping candy, Lundberg explained. The camera sends signals down onto the lollypop and onto your tongue, you can then determine what they mean and transfer it to shapes. It's only a prototype, but the potential to change my life is massive. It has enabled me to pick up objects straight away, I can reach out and pick them up when before I would be fumbling around. The MoD is paying around £18,000 for the device and training for the trial. Major General Gale Pollock, a retired US officer who worked on the development programme, said the BrainPort sends information to 400 points on the tongue connection. Designers plan to upgrade this to 4,000 points, providing a clearer image. Sir: In edition to what has been said, I would say following: 1. There exists a tool called win to flash which is very simple and easy to use. You need 6 to 8 GB pen drive for good speed in all the cases. With this tool you just have to follow the prompts, keep your win 7 dvd ready and it will do the rest for you. 2. MS also has some tool called windows 7 dvd to USB tool or something. In all the cases, your pen drive will first get formatted so make sure you take the backup of important data! Just google for tools. You can create auto installer for win 7 but the only problem with this that it disturbs all your existing partitions and creates a single partition. I am not sure though about the thing which I am going to say you but you can look for it. If you do not specify the partition, then you can do all the things automatically except one thing that is to choose a drive in which your windows should get installed. For that you can remember the minutes before you have to choose the drive and then use auto installer successfully. I haven't tried any of this, I am saying because I have got to know from net that there are people who have successfully done so. Dear Access Indians, I wanted to request the group members to help out 3 young entrepreneurs who are starting a computer training institute for the blind called MERCI in Madagascar. This is the idea of Karin from Norway who is blind, and wants to ensure that visually impaired in Madagascar get access to computers. She got this idea when she was in India for a 11 month course at IISE Cochin. Currently less than 10 blind persons have access to computer education in Madagascar, and thats what the team at MERCI is trying to change,.
