circuit.  It is probably just the same circuit as the ap note for the regulator 
chip.

We have used these to power radios off batteries for
installers. They are adjustable - we set them 48v out on
16.2v battery packs.

Here's one that's a bit smaller, but probably still too big. who knows if it

Oh...just because they've done it, doesn't mean it can't be done better.

My complaint with the indoor unit was that there was no way to mount it 
to anything.  They needed some eyes for screws, or keyholes on the back, 
or something along those lines.  The outdoor version wasn't particularly 
rugged for an outdoor device, and still nothing to mount it to.  You 
either dangled it out of the bottom of the device, or zip tie it to the 
mounting pipe.

I found a chinese source for $11.  1 inch by 2 inches by .75 inch.
I am making a converter to power 12 volt devices off of 48 vdc poe.

that was a plug on a pigtail with a jack on the other end. They are 
about $20 for either one.
