Re: [AFMUG] Powering a Syncbox Junior without a uGPS type device

2017-06-15 Thread Paul McCall
If I had a Parasitic laying around I would. And the timing port version does
NOT have an RJ45, it has to run off power fed to it via a timing port (uGPS)
which Forrest acknowledge now. I actually had done a straight through cable
(minus reset line) just to see if an FSK would turn it on; it doesn’t.

One FSK AP? Just put a Parasitic pipe on it.

The 4-port SBJ aux & timing port versions are basically identical. Aux = RJ45.
Timing port = RJ12. Obviously requires UGPS power capable radios.

You can always do a regular SBJ deluxe which has a dedicated SyncInjector/power
port. If it was me, I'd just use a Parasitic pipe since we usually have some of
those laying around.

I'm traveling, so can't look it up, but what does the uGPS manual say

Re: [AFMUG] Powering a Syncbox Junior without a uGPS type device

2017-06-15 Thread George Skorup

One FSK AP? Just put a Parasitic pipe on it.

The 4-port SBJ aux & timing port versions are basically identical. Aux =
RJ45. Timing port = RJ12. Obviously requires UGPS power capable radios.

You can always do a regular SBJ deluxe which has a dedicated
SyncInjector/power port. If it was me, I'd just use a Parasitic pipe
since we usually have some of those laying around.

AFAIK All semi-modern fsk radios provide uGPS power. Just connect the

Guys,

We need to providing timing on a single FSK AP and it is fed up the tower
through fiber to a UBNT S16. (so its powering off the S16). I want to use one
timing port to output timing to the FSK (as normal) and one port to receive
power from the S16 and need to figure out the pinout (wiring diagram) to make
that happen.
