 Hi Chris,

I get that each task shown in PD is itself a task in TMS Task form. But my
requirement is to create a task based on a task template using process
designer; which I am not able to achieve. So you meant to say that this is
not possible via process designer. Could you please throw some light on
 this. Thanks.

Hi Claire

MT portion is supposed to resolve 'login redirect issue for websphere cluster.
we are currently deploying; per BMC.

specifically this,
1.On running alert(document.cookie); from the console, JSESSIONID is not
included.
2.In the Fiddler logs, only one JSESSIONID is created with the context path and
HttpOnly attribute set.
3.uds.js now has the value of the cookie MJUID appended to it when it's loaded
instead of the earlier JSESSIONID
4.Global fields function as they did prior to these changes.
5.Login from different ip addresses or midtiers with a non admin user retains
the original IPOverride functionality
6.This was tested on Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, and Websphere and on browsers
IE8, IE9, Safari and Firefox.

Could very well be - it's happening to a user who was granted a
higher-than-default timeout session timeout in their user preference.
We're an OnDemand customer so I'd have to ask BMC to verify the LB
session timeout, but I suspect it is indeed less than the user's
timeout setting.

So reducing the user's session timeout would possibly resolve it?

2013-08-12 Thread Gordon Frank

Thanks for the help everyone,

The problem was the Record Object Relationships parameter. This is a
development\test server and I had turned this parameter on to trace workflow on
another object. The relationships worked great but it apparently takes some
load on the system and causes the unique index error I got when saving the
Active Link.

Once I turned off  Record Object Relationships I was able to save again. I
had Development Cache Mode turned on as well. I will probably open a BMC Tech
Support ticket on this just to see what they say.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed in 8.1? We are at 7.6.4 and will soon
migrate to 8.1.

I can live with doing Record Object Relationships on demand and restart the
server, but it is ackward.

Thanks again and if I hear anything else, I'll let you know

If you have “mucked” about in the object relationships at the database you need
to bounce your system

For some reason BMC chose not to use the same logic as next entry id for a form
and instead reads the last relationship ID at startup.   The server then uses
an internal counter to increment the entry ID for the relationships.   I
suspect they do the same for the other meta data.

Atrium Orchestrator Issue: JMSActorAdapter : Naming look up did not return a static destination!!

2013-08-12 Thread John Baker

This error:

JMSAdapter, JNDI API lookup failed: weblogic.jms.common.DestinationImpl

Suggests the WL driver is written around JMS 1.0.2 and not JMS 1.1.
There were some subtle changes in the spec that made integrating with
JMS 1.1 easier, and Destination is one of those interfaces if I recall.

Using an escalation to kick off an event??

2013-08-12 Thread Richter, Howard (CEI - Atlanta)
Good morning, afternoon and evening all,

I have an odd thing I am trying to do with an escalation.

I need to insert a record into a form (lets call is X) to kick off an event.

The problem is that this form X is somewhat a busy one so if I do any
qualifications, (for example if the subject like %RED%) and if no request
match create a new request, if any match take no action, I get one new record
for each record that does not match (and a number will not).

Too bad I cannot use my qualification to add a record (Then I would put in a
fake record).

What I want to do is just create one record, into this form once a day.

So any ideas?

Re: Approver Mappings

2013-08-12 Thread Hennigan, Sandra
In test, the Active Approval field was unhidden, allowing the field to be used
on change requests. Yes, setting the field to Yes, though klugey, allowed the
change to be completed.

The hang-up is at Implementation Approval, so here are some details:

Users must submit a Change Request using a template.
There are templates for Standard, Normal and Emergency changes.
The out of the box process is being used; no alterations.
Approval Individuals have been set for Review Business Approval.
For Standard changes, Review and Business Approvals are expected.
For Normal changes, Review and Business, Implementation and Closeout Approval
are expected.
For Emergency, only Closeout Approval is expected.

I expect that I have missed something but I thought that if there was no
approver for a Status, that no approval was needed to continue. Any assistance
is greatly appreciated.

Hi Team,

Following is the Steps to resolve.

Step 1. Take the backup of the change request(*.arx).
Step2. Reset the value Active Approval(selection Field) in backup.

[cid:part1.09050204.02040302@vyomlabs.com]

Step4. Import the modified change request(*.arx)

Note: Active Approval is not in the view when we open/modify a Change Request.

This will resolve the issue.

Howard,

As LJ and others have described, one way is to have a form that has a single
record and just run the
escalation on it. You can push to any form so escalate on the dummy form and
push wherever you want
your new record.

OR

Set the qualification to something like 1=0 which will match nothing (and is
efficient in all DBs - yes, Oracle
has fixed their table scan issue on this) and put your logic in the ELSE branch
of the escalation which fires
when NOTHING matches the escalation condition.

So, two ways to get what you need.

2013-08-12 Thread Misi Mladoniczky
Hi Howard,

I usually do exactly what Doug describes.

The one issue with it is that it is mandatory to have an IF action as well. It
will never run, but this does not matter very much what you put there. Maybe a
message that directs future admins to the ELSE action...

A qualification of ('1' 1) would be fast in any environment as well.

Howard,

As LJ and others have described, one way is to have a form that has a single
record and just run the

escalation on it. You can push to any form so escalate on the dummy form
and push wherever you want

your new record.

OR

Set the qualification to something like 1=0 which will match nothing (and is
efficient in all DBs - yes, Oracle

has fixed their table scan issue on this) and put your logic in the ELSE
branch of the escalation which fires

when NOTHING matches the escalation condition.

So, two ways to get what you need.

Howard,

Create a Regular form Y, put a single record in it. Have your Escalation
fire on form Y, matching on that record, and have the action be a push to
form X.

Too bad I cannot use my qualification to add a record (Then I would put in a

What I want to do is just create one record, into this form once a day.

So any ideas?

Re: Service Pack 5 for 7.6.04 of the BMC Remedy Action Request System product.

2013-08-12 Thread Mueller, Doug
I thought I would give a little explanation for this statement.

There has been a change in the rules about what is allowed to be done in a
service pack recently.

Originally, a patch or service pack could not add new features or capability to
the product. It could only fix
defects. This meant that any enhanced capability could not be added except in
new product releases which
means that to get anything that was not directly a bug fix, you had to wait for
a future release and then
upgrade to that release.

There were many cases where minor RFEs solved problems and added significant
value for customers. So,
the rules were changed to allow the addition of a level of new features and
capabilities.

This is a GOOD thing for you. You get access to enhancements much faster and
without having to upgrade
to future releases.

Now, the problem is that when you look at 7.6.04 sp5 which was just released
and which has some
enhancements that were not in the product before, the 8.1 release happened
months ago. Obviously, those
enhancements are not in that release because it is already shipped.

All changes added to a service pack for an earlier release are rolled into the
service pack process for later
releases and into future product deliveries.

So, the warning, if you upgrade to 7.6.04 sp5, there are going to be features
and capabilities that are new
to the release. If you use them, you cannot upgrade to 8.1 base release
because those features and
capabilities that are new ARE NOT THERE. They will all be there in the next
service pack release on the 8.1
system. It is important to remind you that you are getting NEW features and
NEW capabilities in this
maintenance release of an older product version that are only available in
appropriate maintenance releases
of later product versions. If you move to an earlier version of a later
release, these extra capabilities will
not be present.

The alternative go back to the rules that NO new features or enhancements
or capabilities can be added
to a service pack so that there is no issue of upgrading to a new release that
was released before new
features were added because none were added.

I think you will agree that the new model is better.

By the way, if you simply DO NOT USE any new feature or capability of the new
service pack, you can move
forward to any later version and have no issue. That is another option you
have.

I hope this explanation has helped,

Doug Mueller

I love this statement:

When you upgrade to Service Pack 5, you cannot subsequently upgrade to BMC
Remedy AR System version 8.1 because Service Pack 5 contains features that
would be lost after the upgrade. These features will be available in a future
AR System 8.1 service pack.

Date field calculations using $DATE$ in the expression.. (SANITY CHECK)

2013-08-12 Thread Joe D'Souza
This is like a sanity check just to make sure I am not doing something
wrong.

If in a Date only field (Not Date / Time field with Display type as Date),
if I were to manupulate a date value of 15 days from now, I would still need
to find the number of seconds in 15 days and add it to the $DATE$ value,
right?

I asked this because that is what I had to do, and I thought Date only field
was number of days from a certain calander date B.C to a certain calander
date B.C.E. (details unimportant) so with that one would think it would be
enough to just add 15 to $DATE$ to get 15 days ahead. However I get proper
results only when I find the number of seconds in those 15 days and add to
$DATE$, which I thought is kind of what I might have not expected.

Even though the Data Source for HPD:HelpDesk was built with the Instance

Good news: I'm not as obtuse as I was beginning to believe I might be.
Bad news: Why did I have to do twice what should have worked the first
 time?

Gordon, it's not Java, it's DB. Turn on your SQL logging right before
you save the AL, and then look at the log, you will see either an insert or
an update statement immediately followed by a ROLLBACK TRANSACTION
statement. You will need to figure out why Dev Studio is trying to insert
a record that is considered a duplicate, and correct the situation before
 moving forward :)
