Differences between BMC Remedy AR System application suite and RemedyForce..

2015-02-05 Thread Joe D'Souza
This was probably discussed before and I think I know that the core
difference is that RemedyForce is based off SalesForce.

What are the other differences between the two products w.r.t. tools used
for development, ease of customization, modules, architecture, etc?

The answer to that question would be a certified 'Force.com
Developer'...that is the technology of RemedyForce, and what would be needed
to make any 'major' changesoutside of that, there is the WYSIWYG
changes, which are easy enough to make with little to no effort :)

Joe,

Despite the name, the two are two completely different technologies.
Remedy, you know, RemedyForce is based on the 'Force.com' development
platform. What BMC has done is built an ITSM Suite using that technology,
and branded it 'RemedyForce' to confuse the less informed into thinking that
it's in any way shape or form based on Remedythey are just simply using
the name of Remedy as it has a strong backing and history.

The Force.com development environment is a very good one, all online, highly
redundant and responsive. Force development is a combination of WYSIWYG and
a backend programming language (of which I don't recall the name) that is
very similar to Java in nature, and powerful.

Hi All,

This message comes out of a previous thread - I'm happy to run a quick 30-60
min lunch and learn session just for the ARS list to help everyone
understand some of the Remedyforce basics - plus point out some of the key
differences from Remedy ITSM (which we all know and love). I can also cover
off MyIT 2.0 if that is of interest as well.

Please let me know if you would be interested and what day/week/time works
best. I can run a few of these Demo's in August so if we get to 10+ plus
people who are interested I will coordinate.

Feel free to email back on this thread or contact me directly via email /

** Hi All,

This message comes out of a previous thread - I’m happy to run a quick 30-60
min “lunch and learn session just for the ARS list to help everyone understand
some of the Remedyforce basics - plus point out some of the key differences
from Remedy ITSM (which we all know and love). I can also cover off MyIT 2.0
if that is of interest as well.

Please let me know if you would be interested and what day/week/time works
best. I can run a few of these Demo’s in August so if we get to 10+ plus
people who are interested I will coordinate.

Please send the me too’s directly to Christopher.

Grassi, Christopher cgra...@columnit.com mailto:cgra...@columnit.com

If we could restrict the chatter on the ARSlist, keep a bit more to the subject
of Remedy, technical stuff.

(don’t bother sending me your comments about there are rules you can use, just
don’t read etc. etc., I have to draw the line somewhere some of the time)

It isn’t the comparison or the other details, it is the list of me toos and if
we get a discussion of times or repeats that will get cumbersome.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the chart of comparison extend to other products. Not
that Analysts don’t already do that sort of thing, I think we have a very
different perspective, and not necessarily a more biased one. I think a more
directly informed one if the only opinions of other products comes from those
that have configured, installed and have seen the load and the response and end
user usage.

RemedyForce V/S BMC Remedy ITSM

2012-12-12 Thread Karthik
Hi All,

I know RemedyForce is a SaaS solution and BMC Remedy ITSM can be on
premise/onDemand is a basic difference. However, i am trying to find out
the difference in terms of capability when it comes to features provided
OOB.

I have seen many ppts that say RemedyForce provides most of the features
that are present on BMC Remedy ITSM however, they also say BMC Remedy ITSM
is full featured. However, none of them compare the features in detail.

Searching on web has also not helped me much. Any pointers?

Karthik,
I'm sure this won't help you much, but maybe it will. The RemedyForce solution
is meant for smaller organizations with less data/structure. It does not (from
my understanding) include a full CMDB. It is sized and priced for someone that
needs something, but not everythingI don't have the comparison that you are
looking for unfortunately.

Re: RemedyForce V/S BMC Remedy ITSM

2012-12-12 Thread Brock, Anne
We have regular webinars on Remedyforce; there is one tomorrow, as a matter of
fact! You can sign up here:
https://bmc.webex.com/bmc/onstage/g.php?d=751597429t=a

And you'll get a link to the recording post-demo

RemedyForce does include a CMDB, with basically the same structure as the
Remedy Atrium CMDB. It does not have reconciliation/normalization nor the idea
of product cats/DML.

As LJ hinted, it's meant for customers who are looking more for a point
solution as opposed to an enterprise solution. But it does include
self-service, KB, Incident, problem, change, release, service level management
and the CMDB. Just not as many features as Remedy ITSM.

You can of course contact your account manager to get a personal demo, or get
your q's answered or sign up for a trial at:
www.bmc.com/remedyforce

Hope this helps!

Re: RemedyForce VS ITSM

2012-11-06 Thread Dale Hurtt
Remedyforce does not have the strength or richness of the application suite
that ITSM has, in my opinion. I looked at it for a large customer and it was
just not as comprehensive or flexible, by design. That said, for someone that
does not need much, and is a small (or the low-end of mid-size) business, it
looks like an e.x.cellent choice. The question is, if you own and maintain the
infrastructure, how can you justify paying the cost of managed services in
addition? It seems to me you would be all in with either on premises or on
demand.

RemedyForce VS ITSM

2012-11-05 Thread Sinclair, Keith
Hey Listers,

We use both Salesforce and the ITSM suite within the organization.

We have a division that is being integrated into our overall IT environment.

This division is wanting to look at RemedyForce for their ticketing/request
system as an alternative to our semi-OOB ITSM suite. We're being asked why they
should use our ITSM system instead of going down their own path with
RemedyForce.

Is anyone using RemedyForce?

Where is ITSM better/stronger than Remedyforce?

Thanks,

Keith Sinclair

2010-12-15 Thread Easter, David
The first product within RemedyForce cloud is BMC IT ServiceDesk on
RemedyForce, a rebranded and expanded version of BMC's ServiceDesk on Force.com
offering that has been previously available. It was updated recently to
include problem, knowledge and change management capabilities.

So you can breathe now. ;-)
