hi. well who to contact at unity? do they have a accessibility dept. we are just a small community. so, could make it more acessible, like the tree view does not read at all in jaws / nvda, and got the unity 2017.3 personal engine. doing a certificate iv gaming and digital media and nvda only reads the start screen. wish there was a keyboard hot key to turn this off, once you get to new, or projects, or open, the menus do work, and visual studio works okay with unity, and also not sure about the scripting engine, if accessible, get to it, and the scenes. so who do i contact at unity that will listen to us and yes could be made accessible for screen reader users. their a ui plugin for $80, and not even sure that will make unity game engine accessible with screen readers. so who to contact. did contact the developers a few months back, said they were in the process of making it more accessible, but was not a high prioeirty. looks like the only way to get this made accessible and also the unreal game engine accessible, have not looked at that yet, then well littergation, like the muscle of the nfb or acb to get change and to get unity and unreal or epic games to make their game engines accessible. also is the toonboom animation software accessible with jaws, or other screen readers. thanks.

@monkey999 - Hit boxes and hurt boxes are rectangular regions which overlap a player's character in a fighting game. For example, if your character throws a punch, then when the punch is active (i.e. briefly) then there will be a hit box. If this hit box intersects with a hurt box of the opponent, then the attack is judged to have hit the opponent and will cause them damage.If you're standing too far away from the opponent and do an attack, although the hit box for the move will exist, it will not intersect with the opponent's hurt box so it won't count as a successful attack and won't do any damage to them.Further reading if you're interested: Understanding the mechanic of frames, hitboxes and hurtboxes

It's a possibility, but I'm sure you would have to RP your way to that point. It's just different styles, I love RP, it scratches an itch within me for good content. Yeah, you do see things where a lot of the stuff is not coded and you are forced to RP it, especially on MUSHes. I I haven't felt that lack though on this one. If you don't like RP, this one's just not gonna be for you.If you would like to learn or get better though, I'd say come here, they don't yell atcha when you screw up and I have had that on other ones. But you have to be, well I wouldn't say comfortable with it, because I'm not comfortable with this style of RP just yet, but I'm learning. You would have to be willing to learn, and keep an open mind though. The people there are friendly as I've said, so if its something you would be interested in checking out, you could, but if you're dead set against RPing, its just not gonna work I'd say.

There are several ways to control VoiceOver. If you don't like holding down two keys, substitute control+option with the Caps Lock key. If you have a numeric keypad, you can use that to control VoiceOver. Press the VoiceOver modifier and num lock to toggle it on or off. You can customize all the commands in VoiceOver Utility under commanders, but here are a few basic commands that are already configured for you.Pressing 2 or 8 moves the VoiceOver cursor down or up, respectively. Pressing 4 or 6 moves the cursor to the previous or next item. Pressing 5 activates the item that has focus. This could be a button, a checkbox, etc. Pressing 7 will stop interacting with something and pressing 9 interacts with the selected item. For example, you can interact with the toolbar in an application and navigate the buttons on the bar. VoiceOver will not leave the item you've interacted with until you stop interacting. If you don't like interacting, you can disable interaction for most items except lists and tables. Go into VoiceOver Utility and change the setting called grouping behavior which is located in the navigation category. Interaction is actually extremely useful once you figure it out. It's very similar to object navigation with NVDA, except you are moving down from a top level element instead of up from a control in a group.I recommend pressing VO Command F8 and going through the VoiceOver tutorial. It is a very good introduction to the screen reader. Hello,This sounds like another very well developed game that loses a lot of potential to forced RP. i'm the type of person who plays games for the strategic and skill elements and generally try to steer clear of any rp type activities do to my lack of creativity and discomfort with people. It makes me sad then to see that such a well developed game forces people to engage in rp as there is such a limited number of people that enjoy it anyway. Also what tends to happen with these games is the actual systems of the game get ignored in favor of creating better rp possibilities because all the systems are just tools for rp. I wonder if people would have a problem with my friends and I getting our own ship on which to roam the galaxy and have fun so we're not constrained by the rules.

I have a quick question regarding Sister Alexia's Holy Warrior ability. I am told that it permanently increases her armor rating. After using it a couple times, I see no increase in her armor's rating. Does she have to wear certain clothing for this to work? Right now I have her wearing the goblin mantle gotten from one of the display cases in the Adrianus manner.

TOS: TrekMUSH

I have a MUD that I don't think has ever been listed here before. I discovered it about a week ago. It's a MUSH, its based off of Star Trek TOS, after the Undiscovered Country movie. It is RPI, and if Star Trek isn't your thing, this place won't be for you. This game has apparently been picked up when its predecessor went down some time ago.It doesn't have a lot of players, but those players that are there now have been through all of the previous game's history and have been involved in this genre for a long time. I've found everyone there to be friendly and helpful.So what does this game have? It has a very vast and complex space system where each officer or crew member has a vital role to play. It has planets and outpost and bases and other places to travel. There is a fully simulated aspect of needing to do your part, such as in engineering, you would man the console there and provide power to each system, adjusting the balance depending on what is needed from the bridge. It has working hand weaponry such as phasers, as well as equipment like tricorders, medkits, engineering tool kits, and communicators. The ship also has comm panels so that each station can contact another area of the ship, i.e. bridge asking for more power to the engines from Engineering.SO, now that I've given an idea of what it has for features, let me go over what it is not. It is not a Miriani, Prometheus, SC, CR, or any such clone. It is not a solo experience, roleplay is required, hence the RPI noted above. It is not a type of MUD where you type a few commands and you're in a new place in seconds. Traveling takes time, sometimes hours. The roleplay is turn based, that is, if you're used to RPing on CR, or those other types of MUDs, this isn't the style done here. It's turn based, as in, someone starts with their pose, and it rotates through everyone who is there, and then back to the start. You don't jump in the middle and start acting out things. It is also a slower-paced style of RP. For instance, it might take anywhere from a minute to five minutes to see another's pose. IT has powerful RP tools such as @emit, which basically lets you emote or pose without your name appearing in the text. This is good, because it allows you to be a lot more flexible with your RP, but it could also be used for bad purposes, which should be avoided, etc. Despite it being RPI, it does actually have a few OOC channels, they're listed out and you can join or create your own, the one you'll be auto-joined to when you create is PUB. Since the player base is currently small, most of the players are on one ship known as the USS Excalibur. This is to keep everyone together so that there are folks to RP with.The connection info is:  TOS.TREKMUSH.NET port 1701. I hope I've written this in such a way that you don't have to try it if you don't think it will be what you want. I realize this type of thing is a niche, but if you think it might be something you're interested in, give it a try. It is one of those MUDs where the people are often idle, and when they come active is usually in the evenings my time, which is EST or GMT - 05:00. The admin behind it seemed a bit skeptical about screen readers and such when I first joined, but he was able to get their web client working with screen readers. I've tested it with Chrome and Safari on iOS, and it does work. I've never seen that type of thing before, usually those clients are completely unusable by us. He has also created a screen reader flag, and says he will keep that thing in mind when working on new systems, to cut out things like ascii borders and the like. Anyway, like I said, give it a shot if you think you might be interested, if not, no harm in just passing it by, but I do quite enjoy it.

Thanks for the tips!  I got it working, I was using the wrong emulator.  it was a ps1 emulator, but pcsx, not psx.  now I'm gonna try sort out the controler.  will be a nightmare playing smackdown 2 without it.  Speaking of which, the menus read wonderfully.

Back in the days of Windows XP I used to use an emulator called Emurayden 2.2. It didn't require any bios files or changes (I'm sure it didn't require bios changes, I'm not 100% sure if it required a particular change in the bios setting). I hope it works for you!

Well I'm back on the game now and giving things a try. There are a couple of things I'm finding a bit odd. The first is quests, since I have the alliance quest to kill a beholder, but it doesn't tell me where to find one, which is a mienr pest after along absence.Alsoo the "area" command tells me I have a quest in gnome tower. I did the entry quest to get into the tower which was cool, but though I looked through the rest of the tower nobody else seemed to have a quest for me which was odd. Maybe a "quest nearby" command or something might help, assuming there isn't one already that I forgot about. I will admit I also want to get past level 10 since it seems I've been level 10 for waaay too long .I also wonder if it might be possible to allow characters to have more tradeskills, or get more, since I'd love to try some more trades out, especially to earn cash and get armour as crafting is rather fun, especially with the soundpack.Lastly I wonder about sieges and how they work and whether you can actually contribute to the sieges, say by going and fighting  soldiers, as palam city was under attack but when I was standing outside the city nothing seemed to happen. Anyway nice to try out the game again.

Upcoming Mainstream Release: Way Of The Passive Fist

On March 7th, this brawler will hit the Xbox One, Steam and PS4.  However, the developer wants to improve accessibility should they receive enough revenue to do so.The game is an old school arcade brawler, with sound cues designed to be a core part of the gameplay.  However, there's currently no left/right positioning.  The game is playable though up to a point, but I've not found said point as of yet.There's even an accessible manual found here, rendered in HTML created created by the devs.The devs would appreciate any feedback that anyone else would be willing to give.  The OCR isn't fantastic with the menus, but it's learnable to an exten as far as I've seen.  The dynamic difficulty settings help too, putting things on the easiest difficulty allows you to adjust as you go.If you'd like more information on the game feel free to ask (it's 200mb on Xbox but not sure about other platforms, also not sure on pricing).It's an entertaining and interesting game though with a passionate development team who really want to make this playable regardless of a complete lack of vision.

probably because you're using the incorrect option in the menu.  There are two options in the file menu - insert CD Drive and Insert CD Image.  Image should be the one you want, at least on my install.

A quick note about Mac OS VM's. For some reason, the command and option modifier keys are reversed. On a real Mac, the command key is alt, and the option key is windows.

There's official support for Python in Visual Studio, I think it was available since VS2015.However, you can't compile Python to .exe with Visual Studio, you need to do it manually with PyInstaller, Py2Exe or CX_Freeze.I'm currently learning C#, which is not a problem for me since I'm using Java at work, and these two are quite similar.Regarding speed, I don't know. I haven't used Cython, but comparing to normal Python speed, may be C# is a bit faster and the size of executable is smaller. Python freezing tools such as Py2Exe should also include all Python libraries along with the executable, and that's why Python app distributions will be somewhat larger comparing to C# application where only executable is distributed. Dotnet is now a part of every currently maintained Windows version since Windows Vista, and thus it doesn't need to be installed separately or shipped with the application, it only needs to be updated which is done via Windows Update or your app's installer.Regarding decorators and some other extra features, I'll just tell you one thing. I'm using Python since 2009, and I've learned decorators in 2016. The point is, you can't, and you don't need to learn every single language feature in a fiew weeks until the moment when you think that it can be useful in solving your coding problem.I will personally always love Python because of it's clear syntax, many libraries and easy to read code. I'm experimenting with other languages mostly because I want more experience as a developer, and I don't wanna limit myself to only one programming language, because if there's something that you don't learn from one language, you will probably learn it from another.

@dardar, I haven't posted in this topic, but just want to say that your multilanguage policies are going to need a lot of hacking. By that I mean mainly unicode characters. VIPMud and MUSHclient do not support unicode input (I don't think any MUDding client supports that right now) and unicode transmission is definitely out of the window due to the way Telnet was created (and hasn't ever been updated to go with the times). As such, unicode characters like ¨, ¬, ¿, À, Á, and other characters (Å, Ø) and their lower-case equivalents (å, à, á, â, ã, etc) will be translated into question marks (?). For example, the Spanish phrase "The Spanish", which, in Spanish, is "El Español", will be translated, over Telnet, as "El espa?ol". Same to the Spanish word 'Policy', which is 'política'. Russian might not present you with troubles like these with certain words, but my point still stands. (Translation source: Google Translate, may not be accurate).

voice over is hard to get used to, you can hit control option M to get to the top menu bar, control option on a windows keyboard will be control and alt. Control option arrows move your cursor about, control command option arrows set and change rotor options, may be speech ones too, I forget, or try adding shift with that. You can open up finder and have a poke in there, which is where everything will be. In the VM, you will have to hit control option space twice for every one time you want to activate something, I guess this is just how the keyboard thing works. To get a context menu, like the right click equivalent, its control option shift M. control option shift down arrow will interact with something, such as a table, a tool bar, etc. and control option shift up arrow will stop interacting. Meh, idk what else, there's loads to learn

hi,you don't have to have a factory to use a drydock. you can use any drydock at any public factory. so it's not limited to factory owners.as for cargo drones, as an from last night they will now assuming you have enough plates stored they will go through each hold if asked and they will upgrade them accordingly.

I don't think there's much you can do. Basically the reason AutoIt GUI's are slow is that AutoIt developers have a really large sleep time in the Windows Message loop of the window. Which I guess is fine for sighted people, but screen readers end up lagging as a result of the program taking longer to reply to accessibility queries. That being said, everywhere else AutoIt doesn't lag this much. I `don't know what kind of program you're working on, but tray menus as well as input and messages boxes behave normally.

@57, I know and use Dry-docks all the time. What about those low level players that don't have factories yet, though?Also, when you buy a new ship at a new rank, you then obviously have to spend time upgrading it. A lot of the stuff that the ship is designed for should be there. If it's largely an exploration ship it should have all gases, all minerals, etc. I'm not sure what this new change to cargo drones was where they can go to multiple cargo bays, but if I have to manually move them one at a time, that's missing the point of what I was trying to get across. If I have to manually move them they don't feel like drones at all. These are supposed to be robots correct? I should be able to set it up so that it can go and upgrade what it needs to upgrade, while I go do something else, whether that's loading some ammo into storage, etc. Installing plates and doing "upgrade on drone" and select from a menu, then get some runtime and continue doing it until complete is a bit repetitive.

Hi.I'm so glad you're working on this thing again.  This is the most addicting audio game I've played in ages.shortly after you stopped working on the game a while back, Voice over on the mac stopped reading game text no matter what I did, so I wasn't able to play the game.  I tried again last night after I saw activity on this thread and on Applevis; Voice over read text fine but it's intercepting more keypresses than it used to, so I have to continuously turn it off and back on.  Web TTS has never read menus to me.  The only thing I've heard it say is status messages, like 'loading map 2' or whatever.  In fact, I think that's the only thing I've ever heard it say. lolAnyway, thanks for taking a look at this awesome project again.

@5I can certainly try and help.  PCSX isn't really meant for running PS1 games as far as I know.  PSX on the other hand does run the games and pretty well too I might add.  I have an old copy going back a while but it still works fine.PCSX2 is for PS2 games.  As far as I know the bios file is probably only for PS2 consoles though I can't be entirely sure.  There's guides and the like that should help you configure the emulators.  Apologies if this isn't a brilliant answer at the moment.

I've had a quick poke around the game and I'm wondering what the problem is?The only major difference I notice is the inventory, which actually seems rather more! accessible than it was given the extra  text labels on the various buttons.One thing I will say for puppet nightmares, is remember you need the "additional focus  information" key to tell certain things. such as the type and status of your soul puppets. In nvda that is nvda key plus numbpad five, insupernova you can get the same effect by moving the mouse around manually, either way  it's  quite dosable provided your familiar with the command.I will say Ignas  has been really good about access in the past (he literally relabled the location  images the same day I asked), but obviously we need to be %100 sure what the problem is before  requesting fixes.

I think I found the problem, but since I had gotten used to Windows Explorer, I didn't bother to go back to this file manager to try it.The problem is the colors used in the list of files in the two panels. Apparently screen readers ignore text in those colors. To fix the problem get some sighted help and change the panel colors to different variations of black and white. For example, standard would be black on white, current file white on black, file selected for multi file operations try something like grey on white. That last one will require some experimenting.Good luck if you decide to try it. Since this is only a educated guess, no guarantees.

The first tier buildings are for collecting money and proof which is another kind of currency  in the game used to purchase some types of buildings. The other tiers are used to  automatically purchase buildings of the tier lower than themselvs. For example, the third tier buildings purchase  second tier buildings automatically at regular intervals, and the second  tier buildings purchase the first tier ones, which are the production buildings.In terms of accessibility, the layout is easy to  figure out and I haven't encountered any problems so far. also I would like to point out that you don't need to go and outfit a ship every time you lose one. that's what drydocks are for. go use them. the only real thing I have to do when I lose a ship is to place my furniture again which does include rat traps. so no I don't think upgrading is as bad as all that. every time you upgrade, go save your ship design every time. it doesn't matter where you do it, it works across the board.

Hi guys,I have good News and bad news:The good News is that I almost certainly got rid of the malware with malwarebites.The bad News is that whenever I open Internet Explorer now, it say it can't Access the site.If I click on further Information it say that there was a time out when contacting the DNS Server.But when I click search for the site on Bing, the bing Webpage appears, but whenever I click for example Google on there (because it searches for my starting page automatically) the bing site just refreshes.What can I do to fix this?Help is much appreciated.Thanks in advanceJulian

I've not actually played land of livia, though I keep meaning too, as it looks quite fun.Talking of upgrades on ships, I'd like to bring your attention to the message boards. In the spirit of being open and honest with our players, the host post a revised copy of the minutes of their monthly meetings upon the board. By revised, we mean any personal details, or private content, is removed, but still with what we spoke about clearly displayed. One of the items discussed in the last meeting was ships. With the spell check on planets now complete, we turn to ships. A large committee, comprising five hosts, have been elected, two of whom will go over the spelling, 3 of whom will go over upgrades and install missing upgrades on ships. Sadly, this situation was unavoidable. In a game of new features, sometimes they are bound to get missed on older models of ship. We aim to rectify that over the next week or two.We are also, to the best of my knowledge anyway, the only space mud out of the big four whom will soon have multilanguage policies. To ensure complete understanding, our policies are being translated, right now, into russian and spanish and not just by google translate, either.Regarding cargo drones I find the comments interesting. There was of course, the change last night that ensured they could go to multiple cargo bays at once, but I think what interests me is your wording "useless."The cargo drones are perhaps the singularly most unuseless item in the entire game. Without the cargo drones, you can not upgrade cargo bays period. Look at any other space mud, lets take one that uses an upgrade. You pick an upgrade and who installs that upgrade, exactly? Oh, right! A cargo drone! Every ship in any universe will require some form of cargo drone, whether it be stored on the ship, following you around like a lost puppy, or sitting in someones upgrade store. When I created cargo drones, it made sense to me that, why should players have to move all their ships to one planet, to get one cargo upgrade, when they could just lead their drone around, and install the upgrade directly from it instead?Perhaps, using my explanation above, it is not a unique system, but I like to think it is not a "useless " one, either. I'd like to see people play the game without them!  Dragon racing. Of course!

I am a new mobile phone game designer. I am working with the game producers from Indus Net Tech.  For the last four years I have been waiting for someone to create a game similar to Audio Defense.  I guess I just got tired of waiting. So I figured I would do it myself.  Since this is my first time doing something like this I have acquired Marty Schultz to assist me with the negotiations and budgeting.  Indusnet found me on LinkedIn.  I am a newly published author. They decided my idea  was good considering I am a blind gamer.  Nobody ever really understands why blind person wants to play video games. Just like people don’t understand why lying man goes to a strip club. I get asked that question every time I go. I tell them I go for the same reasons most guys do.  People just don’t yet that being visually and paired doesn’t make you stupid. League game I created is called The Circus Masters Revenge.  So, instead of zombies attacking a solo Blind defender. It will be 23 different kinds of circus performers.  We think this game can be released in the Apple phone platform as early as September. They want to add a mode for the visually sided gamer with virtual reality.   They will have to go into the settings menu to activate this mode. My game will eventually go to other platforms like android and Google play. That was Audio D’s mistake. I need help informing the Blind gamer community about this project. The game producers want me to prove to them that this type of game is being sought out by blind people. If I can’t prove it to them they will scrap the whole visual impaired part of the game I need help informing the blind gamer community about this project. The very beginning of the February one made me laugh because of what happened.spoilerspaceThe trainer had to run from her location to get to you/us, the drivers. She almost forgot/maybe she was late, and she had a slight panic and then suddenly arrived and there was an awesome little dialogue.

Anyone with a games console tried the new version? WOndering if it fixes the issue I had where, on xbox one, if I tried pressing a to make the bike start moving, well, nothing happened, the bike just sat there, this was a few months back though.
