Re: has anyone noticed blind schools being sheltered areas?

Oh wow, just wow! This has brought back to me some rather, um, horrible memories I would really like to leave deep in the recesses of my brain. I went to public school for most of my education. But I tried Tennessee School for the Blind (TSB) my ninth grade year. I had no idea what I was getting myself into! I went to the summer enrichment program before school started, and I guess I was dumb enough to decide on trying out the normal school year! Yes, I left good friends, good help in my aid and the person who taught me to read Braille from the age of five, and a cozy little town where everybody knew me. I left all that for a place where I would be singled out, bullied, failed for no good reason, and everything else under the sun! What on earth was I thinking?! I didn't even finish out the whole year, left in April, and came back to local high school. But then one of the consequences of this was that I had to stay an extra year to make up for my disastrous grades at TSB. At least I was able to get accepted into both colleges I tried, although I flunked out of both of them. That's another story. But hey, at least I had the choice.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia Audiodrama

The Focus On The Family one was a surprise gift from my mother a few years ago. I didn't know about GraphicAudio back then, so I was tickled pink by the concept of an audio book that wasn't the same guy droning on and on and on. The sound design is less impactful than, say, GraphicAudio, such as the fact that footsteps sound much more halting and sometimes the audio isn't as refined as predone sound libraries are, but Focus On The Family makes their own sounds so it's actually pretty amazing. I have the collection now, and it's in a nice shiny collector's tin with a Map of Narnia included. The stories are loved by all, no matter the age, though as I've grown up I have realized that the books are a bit boring the older you are, and shorter, the longest one is about 3 hours, so you could listen to a book in the space of time it takes you to watch one of the Lord Of The Rings movies. I'd get it, the Focus On The Family one, that is. It's quite fun.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia Audiodrama

Wow, it is just amazing what you'll find on a random Google search! So I guess I'm digging this thread out of the very distant past. I actually don't remember being introduced to "The Chronicles of Narnia" until I was thirteen years old. My oldest niece, about four or five at the time, was living with me and my mom for the better part of a year. She was enrolled in preschool, and some days the kids would go to the library. One day, my niece had checked out "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" and my mom read a chapter to her every night before bed. I think she ended up reading the whole series to her, in a British accent, no less! Then for Christmas that year, I got one of the audio dramas done by Focus On The Family, on CD. Then I got the whole series, and that was my official introduction to C.S. Lewis's world of Narnia. To this day, I still think the Focus adaptations are the best. The movies were okay, but I was disappointed that some of the events in "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" were, for some reason, out of order in the movie. Yes, I'm picky. But hey, these are classic stories!Anyway, I still enjoy the series and still listen to the CD's from time to time. It's way better than an audiobook just narrated by one person. A dry narration is just not the same. Of course, it all depends on who's doing the narrating and how good they are at capturing the story in question. And the same goes for dramatized audio; it depends on how well everything is put together: the acting, the music, the sound effects, etc.

I know a few programmers who are working in the video game industry and they had exclusive experience with software accessibility; but they can't just implement what they desire in their project. Also there's just so many hiring and firing going on, companies just  get rid of developers if they want to and swap them, effectively putting an end to whatever feature they  were designing on a game.Edit: I would agree with starting a fresh topic.

It helps to raise your combat speed as well, using specialized equipment such as armor and rings. Be careful though--there is such a thing as too fast. I find that a combat speed of about 30 gets the job done while still allowing for proper game play. At this combat speed I can take on three dragons at once, provided most of my party is in good health to start with.

Re: has anyone noticed blind schools being sheltered areas?

In some Thai blind schools, the concentration on education is lower for some reason compared to what most sighted have to learn. There're not many staffs actually skilled at anything to the point of being able to educate students to an effective level themselves. They have easy education for students who can't manage with sighted. Those who can are sent to study with sighted. (I was sent since I was 5, the youngest in their history). Most blinds end up being massage therapists, making and selling things, being in a blind music bands or staying home doing nothing. A lot of them deem education unimportant. Top jobs here are selling lotteries and massaging, and those are only two well known jobs for the blinds here.

Re: has anyone noticed blind schools being sheltered areas?

Well, I personally can't relate to any of these stories, because I've thankfully never attended a school for the blind. But I'll tell you what, the school here in Kentucky sucks. Ever since there superintendant retired a while ago, it has been government run. And as usual, the government screws everything up, so you can just imagine what that school turned into. Sometimes on the weekends, I'd hang out and talk  with some of my friends that go there, and if the conversation ever turned to school, there'd be something like thirty minutes to an hour of depressing statements about KSB. They have staff there that just have no interest in there jobs, subsequently turning everyone's education into a complete and utter failure. Heck, they don't even offer A P english or science courses, so they have to provide bus  transport to a nearby high school so that kids who want to take those classes, can. The food is somewhat close to prison issue (cheap as they can possibly get it, but that's true for most public schools). The independent dorm program (live on your own and provide for yourself) is about to collapse because they don't have enough staff to supervise it, along with everything else on that campus. Every little change has to be approved by the Kentucky department of education. And that, as well, sucks. I hear the dorms aren't to nice either... And you are not under any circumstances, except on specified outings, allowed to leave campus. The only really good programs they have there are music and sports, both of which will probably have to disappear by the end of the year. Somewhere around 800 dollars are being cut out of the educational budget for the entire state, and that won't leave too terribly much room for anything special. But as far as these types of schools being sheltered, I guess it just depends on the school. Here, at least, student's are not given a proper representation of the real world at all. Well, except for the essential lesson that sometimes, life sucks. Because nothing goes right at the Kentucky School For the Blind, and if it continues on the course it's on, it'll be closed in about 2 years.

You really don't want to be doing it that way. If you really want to launch sites, do it from the run dialog. The only issue is its really only going to recognize them if you put www. or http:// in front, so you can use the browser and type the site as you would into the address bar which passes it as an command line argument and it will launch to that site. If you're typing stuff in the start menu, you're exposing yourself to a lot of unneeded filtering and that will slow you down as the system lags to try to find things as you type.

@EthinIf you want to actually do something positive instead of just admitting your a problem again, I'd strongly suggest that you delete your harshest previous comments on this thread, and the RAD one.No one else can do it if it hasn't broken a rule, only you, so if you want to apologize and take responsibility for your actions, you should get rid of anything that was needlessly insulting/negative, I'm sure Ian would appreciate it.Anyway, I think this is a step in the right direction and I'm happy for it even if it's long overdo. Despite it's limited scope and the potential for bad enforcement it sends a message. And it also gives us something more tangible to bring up to the media if the FCC can't handle it correctly. Not to mention that it's seemingly having ripple effects in that more accessibility teams are being formed and existing ones given more funding at various studios and their are more, and more calls for disabled representatives/community feedback lately.I hope the law gets more comprehensive in time, but regardless it can only have a positive effect!

Your WSB Arkansas Stories

So I was at Arkansas for a month and my time there was very well. There was things I took notice of.1. I loved all my teachers for my first month of evaluation and wile I did not get into the program I wanted too it was a very good thing that helped in preparing me for the world of being on my own.2. The Laundry, Yes the laundry think of it like this. Consumer grade washer and dryers for about 20 people.3. I noticed that a lot of the girls I interacted with really weren't interested in talking to the guys. I remember one day walking into the lunch room and literally noticing girls on one side of the room and mostly all guys on the other side. Also with a few exceptions for some guys on the girls side.4. We had to manage are time. We were given a schedule of classes and and we had to be there on time.5. We were aloud to go off campus just at night because of the area we were in the advised us to stick in groups of two or more.6. There were always people coming and going. There was uber and lift cars picking people up and things like that.7. One of the things I didn't like was that they observed you in public areas and they used that tords your evaluation even if you may have done good in all classes. So that is all I can think of. I want to hear what your time was like.

To weaken the remote unit, try this design. For example, every time an archer attacks, it consumes a little mp, Equivalent to the consumption of arrow.Wood is consumed when restoring mp.An archer has 20 arrows and an arrow requires 2 wood.Catapult needs a third resource, stone. Each catapult can carry 30 stones and is replenished with stone resources after consumption. It is ok to consume any resources, so writing mods is very flexible. This design may prevent the remote unit from being too strong.

@12 A lot of the girls were very standoffish and snobby at least from what I noticed and everyone seamed to hang with the people they were in the same program with. I never really noticed this with the guys but a lot of the guys told me the girls wern't worth the time better to find someone from the local college. Also They didn't want people in relationships they said to us on are first day that we weren't hear to find love. They really couldn't stop us from doing it but it was not accepted. And as far as the rooms thing goes I think that was for law suit or false rape law suits that the center did not want to get into. I don't know who managed it before I was there.

Re: CVAA Accessibility Rules Now In Effect

okay, I'm going to weigh in here and I have nothing but positive things to say about this cvaa. First of all, I don't think I've ever heard of it, but if they've passed a law that requires game developers to make their chat functionality accessible in their games so that we totally blind gamers are able to navigate to and use that functionality, then I must say I am extremely excited about the whole matter. Does this mean that the games themselves are fully and completely accessible? are we able to sit down in front of either a computer or a game console at will and select a game and play on equal footing alongside our sighted counterparts as it should be? no it doesn't, but I have every reason to believe that this too will happen even if it does take time. I truly believe that with all of my heart that if big companies such as Microsoft, who have clearly shown themselves to be an ally of ours, continue to make not only their hardware products such as the xbox completely usable for us as totally blind gamers, then I truly do believe that other companies will follow and will make all of their games accessible in do time even if that time is several years or maybe even 10 years down the road. It will eventually happen because legislation will be passed to make it so if enough of us contact companies and explain to them how they can make their games and products work for us. I truly believe that the reason that companies don't make their games work for us is partly to do with finances and the other bigger elephant in the room is that they quite frankly don't know how to go about it and they won't know unless we help them learn. So there it is, my two cents for what ever they're worth. Agree or don't but that's my story and I'm sticking to it, and as for me and my house, I'm going to continue to contact companies when and where I can and very calmly and politely suggest to them that they make their games accessible and explain to them how that can be done by recommending different accessibility features to make their games accessible. I can't do any more than that. Have a wonderful evening to you all.

@32, I found your post to be difficult to interpret. As for the global vars thing, I don't mind throwing a few global variables here and there; in fact, I do it (with extern, mainly) so I can keep track of the global variables without getting linker errors all over the place. Static classes and variables still generates linker errors, especially if you want to reference a global audio stream object in multiple files, for example.

I'm planning out a new pc build, and thought I'd ask this question to see what you folks thought. The motherboard I'm looking at has to m.2 slots that operate in PCIE Gen 3 x4 mode using SATA III  or NVME. I'm wondering if it would be best to invest in two separate 500gb NVME ssd drives, one for the os and one to install games and other apps on, or if I should get just one 500gb ssd and install everything on just the one drive? Does installing apps onto separate drives from the os drive improve throughput and reduce bottlenecking, especially with m.2 NVME drives, or would this be a waste of 170 bucks? I've tried Googling and haven't found anything about this being done with M.2 NVME drives, only with a mix of drives as an upgrade on older computers. O.O Glad to post motherboard and drive specs, if anybody thinks that would be useful.

Then again, I skimmed the results then again, I did find this: http://snohomishcountybusinessjournal.c … 0/EXTRAS02Yep, can't find either of those anywhere. I'm probably using the wrong query. You know... I've always told people that four-five years ago I was a dick, but now I've changed. I've always told them that I've gotten better. And off-forum, I have; I don't think I'm a dick if I am, no one's told me. Off-forum, anyway. But I'm not very different than I was 2-3 years ago on here (though most of my posts in the developers room are mostly educational -- I attempt to be non-combative there), and I've always come up with reasons why I still haven't changed. And I can't figure out whether those reasons are hollow or not. But I've strayed way off topic...

Hi all,I just wanted to share a little pet project of mine with you all. It is an attempt to create a formant based speech synthesizer from scratch. If you don't know what a formant based speech synthesizer is, think Eloquence or DECTalk. Formant synthesis is based on mathematics rather than prerecorded segments of speech.I have nothing to release yet and probably won't for some time, but I hack away at this on weekends. I am keeping a diary of my efforts with accompanying audio examples. In case anyone is interested, the URL is:http://blastbay.com/blastvox/I am still at a very early stage so don't expect anything impressive. Still, it's a lot of fun and I make slow but steady progress.I will update this from time to time, so feel free to check back every now and then if you're curious.Kind regards,Philip Bennefall

Ethin, here's a quick summary of some comments just on this thread alone from other members of this community:Ethin, if you have nothing positive to say about this, please stop. The remarks you have made here and on other threads aren't helpful and may even discourage people from making games accessible for everyone.Ethin. I have four words for you. Please delete your account. All of your posts are combative in nature, and you come off as a whiny, spoiled little brat. Please stop posting, get off the net and get out of the house.ethin:I am going to say this, and I am only going to say this once.I am frankly surprised that you are still allowed to be on this forum. The vast majority of your posts are extremely negative and insulting. Constructive critisism is one thing, but many of your posts go above and beyond that. You have already been banned 2 or 3 times, and clearly have not learned your lesson. Why the mods still let you get away with this I don't know, but I am frankly getting sick and tired of your negative attitude on your posts, and think that it is high time something was done about this.Being polite and disagreeing with someone are not mutually exclusiveAnd on the other side, your response:Obviously I can't just suddenly 'turn over a new leaf', as it were. Based on the above comments I think it would be sensible for you to indeed turn over an entirely new leaf, right now.Unfortunately I only have this forum as a 'news outlet'.Therefore you have no justification at all for you to talk about the certainty by which you know things to be fact. Presumably unlike some people here, I know how old you are. I am 18 years older than you. When I was your age there were many things I thought I knew as fact that I later learned were the results of inadequate information and life experience.  I've read your Mexico report. I've read your "children know peace" article. So I know you have it in you. Please go back and re-read your "children know peace" article. You may have been younger then, but every word of it is just as relevant now, it is really excellent advice for you to have given to your future self.An excerpt, by means of a reminder:I have discovered that if you treat people with respect, you get respect in return. Through setting my own example of passing kindness onto others I get kindness returned to me. Giving someone a compliment, volunteering my time to help others, and even being polite to my bullies are all acts of unselfishness. In order to change the world, one must lead by example. This is one of the ways I am a leader in my community. This is How the process of peace begins…with kindness.Wise words.

Re: About C#. Keys

2019-01-12 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Developers room : Rastislav Kiss via Audiogames-reflector

Re: About C#. Keys

Hi there, wow, such a discussion, but we are joining together slowly I  guess.@Ethin: when two share the same opinion, how can they argue about it? You wrote, that I want to use gui loop for a videogame. can you quote that? because I have never wrote this.I have wrote, that you can use gui system for audiogames. And that is a difference. You can actually make even some simple fps without noticing any bugs. In audiogame there is no stucking drawing, so only way you can find that something is going wrong is when reaction to key press comes later than it should (of course meaned during actual gameplay). When you are planning to make an audiofps with thousands of enemies and tons of objects in 3D map, you can use game loops to save cpu. But you still have a chance to do it.If you are planning to make actually a videogame, well, that's completely different situation. It isn't a framework loop what actually stops you, but simply unability of gui systems to draw content in 60 fps. if you want to do such a operation, you need firstly to know the surface, then calculate view angle, what is visible, what is not, how to view it and just after that comes actually the drawing, also with some technologies to speed it up. That is something gui systems weren't developed to manage. There is OpenGL as you say for this purpose and only a fool would use Windows forms or WPF instead.About dividing game into window classes, I meaned to separate logics of game phases to multiple classes, instead of mixing everything in one, that would be a bad idea. But you already get it I guess, may be it was just a misinterpretation. So you see, our opinions aren't different this time and I think situation was the same in many others of our conversations.I know that you are good at programming, otherwise I wouldn't give you neither a second of my time and attention.I have been coding synce my 11, that's about 6 years. So I have some experiences too, don't worry about it. @Sanslash: BgtKit isn't published yet. It has two reasons. First that I was coding it during development of my games, and because of that just functions I actually needed are implemented. Second is, that it is some time synce I worked on some game, i am focusing more on expanding my knowledge to web technologies and mathematics, including machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence. So I am not currently interested in BgtKit much. And now, to all of you, who want to begin with programming audiogames. There were tons of examples from people like Mason, Gorthalon, etc. how to do an audiogame in bgt. But many of them shared the same mistake - spaghetti code.In programming, a spaghetti code is a code, which uses just few or no classes and relies on functions, which aren't in any class. Something like that is very chaotic and hard to extend.Another common mistake was using global variables, in bgt frequently for nearly everything. To make it clear, there shouldn't be any global variables or functions in your projects, everything should be at least at class level. If you need to make it available from every class, use a static class for this purpose, which represents what category that variable belongs to.For example, Math functions in C# aren't declared like globals, even if that were possible, but are grouped in a static class Math, what is pretty clear explanation of their category. To react on these problems, I have developed a system of developing a game, which separates its phases to classes called Windows, or VirtualWindows better said. They are there to manage keyboard presses, mouse motions, joystick actions and other input from user, while a timer method cares about moving enemies, weather, time, healing you etc.of course those things should be actually made in other classes, for example you should to have a class Player, which stores player's health and Window method just updates it when necessary. Physics should for example have its own class, mapsystem too, as Sanslash already pointed out.VirtualWindow is somewhere in the midle making the colossus of classes work. This is independent on language, you should use object oriented programming in C#, Python, Java, _javascript_, Kotlin and whatever you are able to think out, of course if it supports it. As I promised, I have coded a small example of what I mean. I have found out, that I don't have necessary sound effects to do sidescroller or fps. I would be forced to steal sounds from other project and that is something I don't want to do. No publicly. So I have coded a small Slide like game. You may know it, there is a grid of squares with numbers, just one square is empty and you must to sort them by moving to that empty square. There is a menu, where you can choose if you want to play with 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 grid. Although I made the algorithm universal, so it can be used for every size starting from 2.Actual gameplay is straight-forward, arrow keys allow you to navigate around the grid, if

Re: Crazy Party: mini-games and card battle! (beta63)

I'd like to propose an alternatire...In Mario Party 5, 6, and 7, there was an orb system where you either bought orbs from a shop or landed on specific spaces that would grant you orbs. The orbs could either be used on yourself to roll an extra set of dice, choose where you want to go, or warp to a Star. However, you could also place other orbs on spaces that would activate board events once people landed on them. This would allow the coins to not be unbalanced, as it depends on the coins in the actual game.Something that I would want is a Crazy Cart mode, somewhat similar to Mario Kart. You could race against bots around tracks, or you could race online with items. Regarding other uses of coins, I do feel like they should either (a) be cashed in for gems or (but) serve as the way to replay minigames in the rewards room. Or minigames should be free.

I did, and wasn't really able to find anything that accomplished the task in a simple way. There's no way I'm the first to think of this, but regardless it works quite well. Re: Jenux OS, The "Next Jen!"

Hi, The recovery environment is simply an arch system with a shell script menu interface to perform tasks specific to android x86. For accessible twrp, I simply use the command line rather than the gui to wipe, install, backup and restore, and manage files. The recovery shell script can reinstall the original iso that was downloaded, wipe data, and attempt to backup or restore x86 file system contents. It does not have any zip installation, but it does provide a way to access a root shell, so if you want to install zips, extract them and have a look at what the updater script in the zip does, and just plop the files in place manually. Also, after testing the kodi and jenux image creation processes and uploading a beta version of the alexa payload, I just dropped the new raspberry pi flashing method. If anyone wants to give this thing a shot and see if it doesn't blow up the world, I look forward to your feedback.

Re: has anyone noticed blind schools being sheltered areas?

That's encouraging to hear. I remember hearing a lot of horror stories about WSB back before they got a new manager. The whole opposite gender students not going into each other's rooms thing is archaic, not to mention stupid, since A. not every interaction with the opposite gender leads to sex, and B. two people of the same gender are just as likely to have an encounter if they so choose. But other than that, I've always been interested in that program because of the job training aspect of things.

Hi Lemm, thanks for your excellent work, I like very much your tool. I've listened all your videos and I would ask if is possible to create a radar for walls like in Manamon, when you can hear the walls using a thone, and when the wall end you hear that the thone go off. It would very useful for complicate dungeon.Thanks.

v-virus or grenam remover (experimental)

v-virus or grenam remover (experimental)

Hi,    I've seen this thing reeking havoc on shared folders over the years. For a while we seemed to be in the clear, but no luck. Our old friend has apparently decided to make an all but subtle comeback, this time with a vengeance. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky.I'd managed to stay relatively clean, until about a month ago that is. I'm usually rather hesitant about running content from shared folders, but sometimes this is simply inevitable. I had apparently forgotten to check file size, run something, and found myself coding in vpython. Needless to say? I was pretty pissed.I went ahead and spun up a quick tool that would try and remove the virus, as well as completely repair the effects. It works by recursively enumerating through files on the user's system, patching those that have been touched. It fixed everything with no issues and I went happily on my way. Turns out the damn virus kept on spreading though. Figured I'd throw this little thing on github in the hopes that it could help. At least if someone becomes infected all they'll have to do is run, so certainly a nice little thing to keep around. The readme explains everything in more detail. I can't promise it'll work for you, but I've infected multiple machines for testing and was flawlessly able to get rid of it time after time, so at least worth a try I say.additional tip: don't want files to be infected? Grenam ignores everything aside from those ending in exe. Just change the extension to .com. Windows is still able to run, behavior is exactly the same.    Hopefully most don't know what this is, but those that do will know just how annoying it can get.    Good luck. You can grab the program from the github repository

Re: has anyone noticed blind schools being sheltered areas?

I was at WSB in Arkansas for a month and let me tell you it was freedom.1. We had no set schedule other than classes. They told us when classes began and ended and we were expected to be there. Lunch was from 12:00 to 13:30 and most people sat around or even went back to there rooms for a quick shuteye. Classes were from 08:00 to 16:00. Dinner was from 16:00 to 18:30.2. You could walk anywhere in the building you just couldn't go in anyone's rooms. Unless you were the same gender.3. Kerfue was 22:30 on week days and 00:00 on weekends I can't remember. No one came to check on us. The only time they had checkups was when they had the high school kids there for college prep weeks. If anyone other than me was there and remembers times please correct the times.4. As far as daily living you had to pass your food and clothing prep class before you were aloud to cook or use the kitchen in the dorms. Other than that you could eat in the lunch room. The weekly meetings were ran by students and we were supposed to make plans for the week on places we wanted to go as a large group. there was only two staff members there but they were drivers. The only time you had to inform staff was if you were going off campus. The staff was there if you needed help but generally they did not stand over you and watch your every move. Also breakfast was from 07:30 to 09:00 on weekends. Lunch was the same on weekends and if I remember dinner was the same times as the week. Also we made trips to the store about once every monday. Like I said if there is any information I'm forgetting out anyone who was there please correct some of the information. Also we did not have set bed times it was all up to us to manage are time. The same was laundry they did not tell us when to do it we had to do it on are own times. You shared your own room and bath with one other person but for the entire month I was there I got a room to my self. It was K 205. Also we had are own keys to the rooms and I think we had to pay five dollars if we needed a new key made. Over all it was a very good time and I would post more about it. The one think I didn't like was they had people watching you when you were in public areas and they used that to evaluate you in getting into your program. But overall it was a good experience and it definitely prepared me for living on my own. I'm also on a housing waiting list so this prepared for me living on the outside world.

Re: Crazy Party: mini-games and card battle! (beta63)

The thing is, I don't think doing the things suggested here would break the balance so badly, and the board mode needs something anyways. All we need is the ability to use this powerup a limited number of times and then it would really not depend on the number of coins.

Re: While loop doesn't work correctly in Python + Pygame

this line has a problem     while dlgAudio.isPlaying:You never actually call isPlaying as a function, so the while loop is just being passed the reference to the isPlaying function of the sound instance and not actually triggering the function. Since isPlaying is set and not a reference to null, it returns as true for the while loop and loops forever. Also is_busy may not directly correspond to whether or not a sound is playing, you may want to use pygame audio channels to make life easier.

Re: Jenux OS, The "Next Jen!"

About the recovery. Any technical possibility you could wedge console speech into an arm-based recovery (twrP for instance), or is this only an x86 exclusive? I know the national braille press team got it to work by embedding brltty into the b2g's recovery environment, and the braillenote touch probably does it by bitbanging the braille display. Sure would be nice to have a talking recovery built right into the phone, although of course if that's not possible we still have commandline twrp.

Re: Crazy Party: mini-games and card battle! (beta63)

The thing is, while I want a use for the coins as much as everyone else does at this point, I would worry that if they could be used for any kind of powerup in online games, there would be some serious balancing issues. Longtime players could easily wipe the floor with newbies, and then the complaints would start, and we all know where that goes, right up to when the dev says fuck it, I'm done dealing with this community.

Re: What do you think about death penalty?

Thumbs up @dark and @Turtlepower, post 29 and 30.That was sort of what I was getting at with post 6, though you two put it way better than I did.  Until we can get behind an objective, ontic reference point by which we can more or less universally come to grips with what life imprisonment or the death penalty are actually supposed to do, we're seriously going to be at a loss for what to do, and since, as post 29 wisely points out, the decision can be easily influenced by culture, emotions, past experiences and other variables, those who argue that there is a definitive one suits all decision that can and should and must be made I do believe err mostly on the side of self interest.  Surely there are psychopaths among the excecutioners, just as there are serial killers in the FBI.  That is true of every group and subset of groups.  Whatever our community actually looks like from the outside depending on who you ask, you'll find people on both spectrums who believe audiogaming is a viable market in which all devs should be paid for the content they produce, while there are those who believe an audiogame really isn't worth selling in comparison to a mainstream one.  There are people who don't believe in paying for accessibility and treat it as a right rather than a privilege, and there are people who are just absolutely happy options exist, whatever the cost.  This situation is far more intricate and complex than anything else I've outlined as it has even more variables to consider than perhaps even we have brought to the discussion table, which is why at present I do not envy those who are taxed with making such decisions.
