Please don't panick or start thinking they're all going to happen or anything, I am only curious of opinion here and wanted to share some of the random stuff I came up with myself.I'm curious about a certain type of suggestion in particular. We all know that STW's item inflation, mostly due to those with hundreds of DFCs, is off the charts. Regardless of what people may think, I never wanted that for this game. Though of course, we need a server and this game is my only income. I am curious and will be reading the /suggest log, if you were the owner of the game, what would you do to start the process of fair item deflation. Many people say, and currently I agree, that STW is very pay to win. I pretty much agree, though this was never my intention. But I'm curious, for those who think that, what defines winning in this game, and what would you do to solve the problem in a fair way? In my case, I don't really think it is possible to win in a game like STW, but it is more or less impossible to die with the right amount of DFCs, so maybe many people would think that winning is when you won't ever die. As for fixing the problem, some of my ideas include recoding the clothing system to make some clothing act as armor, doing what should have been done ages ago and make old food begin to rot, old pots begin to crumble, old dead animals becoming bacteria infested and other old items in other ways expire. I'd raise the prices of death free cards, but it would be unfair because of those who already purchased them at this price. In an ideal world, I would want the game set up so that a character could only have like 50 dfc's in their inventory, and so that they could only ever get new ones once every 24 or 48 hours. Or maybe somehow making it so that DFC's make you lose some of your items that you have in the greatest quantities if you die. At one point I even considered coding some sort of STW robbinhood, a certain beast that would attack only those players with absolutely crazy amounts of DFCs and items. It's an interesting topic, because so few ways exist to fix this problem in any kind of fair manner aside from making an entirely new game and starting over. I considered making this system where you could get stw points for trading death free cards to characters that couldn't get them. All sorts of stuff I've been considering, and I'm curious to see what other people have to say on the subject of item deflation in STW. Of course the game's most unrealistic point out of all of it's many is that the inventory is weightless and for paid accounts can hold an infinent number of items. I hate how STW isn't really a survival game anymore but is only an item collection game for anyone who has a paypal account and a lot of extra money. So I'm curious of people's suggestions. How do we not stop selling stuff because that would make people rage and it would eventually cause us to lose our server and things, NTM these paid accounts are the last line of defense with cheaters, but how do we also balance things better and fairly get rid of these insanely huge inventories in place for a better player balance and more realism. Keep in mind I'm not saying what will happen or even that things will, but while I'd of course like other suggestions to come in, I'm curious to see what people think on this subject, so please use /suggest with any thoughts and ideas on the matter!I'm sure everyone is wondering what happened with JohnCina. Unfortunately, looking at logs showed some breaches of the administration rules that were enough to make us have to demote him for the time being. The change to Top of the Skyscrapers is documented in the latest changelog, it says that the people with the hammers are "less crazy." Essentially, that means they don't do anything anymore. I used to think that the strategy was to climb all the way up to the top of the buildings, and boy, was I wrong. Once someone showed me that all you need to do is hammer the fuck out of your space bar while jumping on the bottom level, perhaps slightly adjusting your position once you get to the right hand side of the map in case of falling bombs, and waiting for the helicopter, I felt dumb. It's pretty obvious once you've done it that way a couple of times.As for games like crossing a studio and the mountainous gorge, I personally enjoy them, but I don't think they're very fun for people with hearing impairments. The same person I mentioned above who taught me how to play top of the skyscrapers the right way falls into that category, and he absolutely cannot play such games. As a result, I've cut them from my lists, at least when we play, because they're unfair for him.And, wow, @45, really? If you can't handle the fact that a topic might stray from the original point, while still being relevant, then don't post at all.

OP triggered my "fuck-off" button by the thread title for a split second. LOL.. In my state the minimum age for tobacco is being raised to 21, which IMO is super counterproductive to us general people but is very productive for the courts and cops trying to get more people arrested for stupid shit. I'm going to be 20 so it's not like I'm that annoyed by it. I've always been curious about how other blind people handled smoking, I grew up around smokers.

@Smoke: I am using a 0.6 coil on my device and currently I am vaping a liquid with 6% nicotine in it. I find it quite satisfying because I love that harshness. I've got the dark tobacko flavour and it's amazing. Unfortunately I live in the EU and that's the tank I was able to get. I am still trying to get used to the device and I am experimenting with it. I am planning to buy some liquids with nic salts so I can get a higher concentration of nicotine.Have you tried diy liquids? is it easy to make them and pour them in your device afterwards? I want to save up on money by buying an 50 or 100 ml liquid along with one or two nicotine shots but I want to know if the diy process can be done by a blind person. Recently I wandered across some of the binaural games offered on itch.io and thought people might be interested in checking out what the indie scene has been up to, assuming you don't know about them already. I can give the ratios I used if you know baker's  percentages.With flour as 100%: eggs as 100%: sugar 100-110% (it doesn't matter too much, but that little extra sugar may make things better for you) I had butter and vegetable oil split the fats which was 150%so, using grams to measure we have:50 grams flour50 grams egg (one egg)50/55 grams sugar (more or less, just do be cautious about exceeding 60 grams sugar)37 grams butter37 grams vegetable oilMixing in ingredients after that should bear in mind any fat or sugar content, but I doubt mix-in is going to have enough to cause to big of a deviation. I also added a little milk. @Ethin It bears mentioning that the "how you feel" thing is more instinctual wrongness. If you're interested, look at gender dysphoria from a scientific angle. There's a good chance, however, that those of use who are comfortable with the gender we were assigned will never truly know how it feels to experience gender dysphoria.We're wandering afield though. This has happened to me twice now in 2 days. First I search for all files in a folder ,and have it remove all files that are not all wave or ogg format. I decides to skip indexes, and even quits half way through. It left a lot of files that were not wav or ogg left over.The second issue, I am working with containers in the level creator. If the file has a grave accent or tilde after the semi colon in the filename, the file must be removed from the array. I tested this with 8 files. The first 4 were checked correctly. A semi colon but no grave or tilde. It detected 5 which has a grave, and removed it. It skipped 6, which also has a grave. It detected 7 which has a tilde, it removed it. But it skipped 8. Another one with a tilde.I have never seen this problem of skipping before, and now it has happened twice, for no reason to my knowledge. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

for me, I think it all came together when I learned more about gender dysphoria and a horrible of a condition it is. So few people in this world ever get a chance to properly transition and it's a real shame… I begin to see how victimized this group of people was. and more importantly for me, how badly represented they felt by the LGBT community at large. I realize that pretty much all the negative things about trans people were either personal (my dad went through transition at a very rough time for our family) or based upon the most obnoxious views of social justice warriors pretending to be representative of them. it didn't hurt as well that 75% of the trans people I've met so far have been really cool just as people in general.

Though I did happen to read an article on LGBT (well, more specifically, gender identity) that indicated that the hole gender identity issue is based on genetics and physiological "impressions" (for lack of a better term) instead of "emotions". The article explained it far betterthan I could. Up to this point I'd always heard that "Gender identity" is based on "how you feel", which I could never rationalize. It didn't make any logical sense to me, because emotions are the most volatile thing us humans have. The article definitely cleared up the confusion for me and made me consider that the phraseology is probably what is in error, not the sentiment behind it. For reference, the article I found is here. I'd love some opinions on it (but probably in another topic). I found that article, ironically enough, by kindly asking the internet what the "scientific logic/reasoning" was, and I'll probably find articles concluding the same as that one; that article makes a lot more sense than saying "its based purely on how you feel" because when I here someone say that something is "how hey feel" it immediately creates a connection between that person and their emotional state at the time. So, when I heard that saying, "Your gender is how you feel", I was being mislead down a logical path that only ended in confusion and no theories that were remotely possible and, ultimately, rejection, thereby causing my misunderstanding and disbelief. Of course,"feel" could also mean instinctual states too, so perhaps this also could be categorized as an instinctive "I just know" kind of thing too? I hope I offended no one with this post; I understand the sensitivity of this topic.

Damn you person who told me about this topic! I wanted to clear up a few things. I use to smoke 2-3 packs a day and quit on accident when I tried vaping over a year ago. That and I have been working on a blog post about this topic for a couple weeks now, so most of this info is fresh in my head.Vaping is not harmless, but it is the most successful form of harm reduction to smoking there is. According to the Royal College of Physicians it is 95% less harmful than smoking. Also according to a UK study published in the New England Journal of Medicine it is twice as effective as gums, patches, or sprays for helping smokers quit. In addition no one has ever gotten sick or died as a result of normal nicotine vaping, every single case of lung illness was directly linked to black market THC vapes which were cut with vitamin  E acetate. Nicotine vaping is not harmless, but is substantially better for you than any form of smoking. This is because it does not contain carcinogens caused by combustion which is how someone would smoke a cigarette. People who say otherwise are one of two things, lying or uninformed.Now to the 2ml tank and if it will be enough. A 2ml tank is normally the standard for a Mouth To Lung(MTL) tank. Unless you live in the EU and have to deal with TPD restrictions, then 2ml is the max no matter what. A MTL vape is the same action as a cigarette, where you suck it into your mouth, then inhale as if smoking. They use an above ohm coil, which means above 1.0 ohms, and use a much lower wattage. the basic rule is the higher the ohms the lower the wattage. Right now you don't need to understand ohm's law, but down the road if you get deep into vaping you'll want a full understanding of it.MTL vaping is typically most satisfying to those quitting smoking. MTL tanks also use an e-liquid with a higher nicotine level, normally 18mg free base, or up to 50mg salt nicotine. This is because the vapor production is quite low, and you don't get as much per hit. Do not ever vape a high nicotine level, above 6mg with a sub ohm tank or coil. Sub ohm produces a lot of vapor, and you should not vape higher than 6 at the absolute highest, unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing, getting nicotine sick is not fun from what I hear.As you vape a higher mg free base nicotine you'll realize it starts to be harsher the longer you vape it. This normally happens After a few months. This is because your body is processing the nicotine, and it is becoming too much for you. This happens naturally and at different rates for everyone. When you notice your juices getting harsher it is time to step down in nicotine from 18 to 16 or 12. This will keep happening until you are done vaping, or until you find a nicotine level you want to stay at. I enjoy being at 1.5mg with sub ohm vaping, and I don't vape with my mtl tanks at all anymore.You will want to watch some videos, or read up some on your specific device, and general vaping terminology. Most importantly don't listen to people with their head up their asses who are going to tell you vaping is more dangerous than smoking. It simply is not and people have been vaping for over a decade. Over 10 million people in the states vape, and no one has ever gotten sick from it. That isn't even mentioning places like the UK and Canada where the government and doctors actively promote vaping to smokers because they understand it is the best option for people quitting. Also nicotine on it's own is not bad for you, at least no more so than normal every day items like caffeine.There is a huge community of people who review and vape on youtube. If you go there and type in the device you have, you'll find lots of reviews for it along with how to use it. A lot of it is visual yes, but after you watch enough videos and learn the terminology you'll have a much better understanding. If you want to save the money you can get into DIY juice making, and rebuilding your own coils. I don't build my own coils but I do use an RDA which means I install a wire coil,and only have to change my cotton in it every couple days.To the person who asked about vapor having a smell. It is different with every flavor. Right now I'm vaping a strawberry cheesecake milk flavor and it doesn't have much room note. However something with watermelon will make your place smell like cotton candy pretty fast. The same for a bakery vape, you're room will smell like the flavor. My favorite room notes come from a good apple vape, it smells like the best apple air freshener you could buy.

I remember about a year ago I posted a topic to attempt stopping clones. Lol. Anyone remember that one?Anyway, I want to share my personal experiences with this topic. This will be a long post, so I might bore you half way through.Feel free to skip to the last paragraph if you want to skip my project history.I have a few projects I have started, only one of which is public. But I will display a summary of each one.The first project I started when I actually got the hang of coding, is the level creator for rhythm rage. I created it because, well one didn't exist, and I was tired of coding levels over and over. So I said screw it, I'm going to try to code a program that will be a pain in the ass, but I only have to write this program once, so I don't have to write levels a million times. For years I had thought of how it would work, just imagining one, and I have to say, it has gone much further and cleaner than what I thought before it existed. So that project was completely original, and I was tired of coding so I took the time to learn the objects and methods used to make it. First thing I ever made from scratch.I started working on another project about a week or 2 after the creator. This is the project that is the next biggest in development. Forum user an idiot and I were playing Dreidel on rs games and he decided to make a time crest reference. He used time crystals as the currency for the game. It instantly sparked an idea in me to create an online time crest parody in bgt. This would be a resource management game rather than a storyline. Each character would have their pros and cons. In this case, my ideas were not original, they were from time crest, but the style and format of this game were completely different. Plus it was online. A few people have this prototype game, and they all love it. It is very unique and different from other online games. Not complex, but not boring.The third project is complete but not public. This actually wasn't my idea at all, and I did not start the project. Another person thought of creating a Random Evil Guy simulator. For those of you unfamiliar with that character, he is a stupid human like robot who loves watching tv, eating chips, drinking soda, and insulting everyone. I am not the type to like simulators, but I decided why not. I was the only coder of the people who were working on it with advanced coding knowledge, so I coded customizing tv shows and even different themes of tv shows. I really exercised my customization skills with that project.The 4th one is a random file player. I don't have much to say. It has a guess the file game, and a list saver so you can load saved lists of sounds. There are a few small projects like that, that are not important.The last one, is a crazy party battle. I want to recreate it. This obviously isn't my idea at all, and no way is it my own creativity. I am just interested in how it works. This definitely will not be a public project. For obvious reasons.I'm not very creative, but somehow coding changed that for me. It is very hard to be original, but a lot of the work I do is original, or at least different. And I think the reason why I am creative, and can come up with original ideas or different ones, is because I enjoy giving myself a challenge, to see what I can do, and what I can learn to do. This is my third time trying to make a crazy party battle. Each time I have gotten extremely further, because I have learned a lot from my other projects. I am honestly surprised how I have made all of these things, how I have come up with ideas different, even going as far as making the level creator, something no one has made yet. And I made it public because I want to give back to this community. I felt like I could contribute and say thank you for all of the developers who work to make their games. It feels very special to me that I was able to provide not just something to this community, but something totally original.

I got the device a few hours ago and I'm experimenting with it since. I find it easy to use, it is nice looking and the feeling is the same, if not better lol. I actually had a nicotine buzz when vaping for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by it lol. I find the hit to be stronger on the throat than cigarettes, a fact that I really like. If anyone want to quit smoking I really recommend vaping, it is really the way to go. I tried gums and patches before with no luck. Even when I used them the craving for a cigarette was there so imo they are useless.

I would like to think otherwise after playing this game for 2 weeks. It seems there is a cheat somewhere that allows player to score insane amount of points, in tornament almost perfect score. Just look at the tornament everyday and you could have notice them. I think I will leave it at this point, as cheats truly destroy the experience.

Hi. I have seen manamon do this, and crazy party do this.When a sound starts, the screen reader speaks a message. When the next message comes, the screen reader starts speaking that next message.In manamon, speaking the abilities get cut off because the sound is short.But in crazy party, the screen reader rarely gets cut off before the next sound plays. In fact, most of the time it waits to finish speaking before saying the next thing even if the sounds are jumping ahead.I am interested in learning how to do both of these systems. Both interrupting the speech for a new message when the next message starts, and not interrupting the speech even if the sounds are jumping ahead. Can someone please help me with either one of these 2 methods? It is good to know both. Thanks

Hey,It's one of those shows I thought was something completely different. It does a lot of things other animated shows do but makes it fun. It really does give a look into what Hollywood really is. No, not obfuscating the code. I'm just trying to get the basics to work before I get too fancy. This is just a small program to learn how to package things. Figure that's something I ought to know before I get really crazy.I didn't copy any of the lib folders to the dist directory after it created the exec. I thought it was supposed to pack all the python files with the exec when it built the project. I also thought it was supposed to drop any relevant binary files into the dist folder when it was done, but it didn't.The sound lib is in the venv/lib/site-packages/sound_lib folder. I have a lib folder in the root project folder that has sound_pool which imports sound_lib and a speech.py file that imports accessible_output2.The venv folder is also in the root project folder.looks kind of like this:../lib./lib/sound_pool./lib/sound_pool/__init__.py./lib/sound_pool/sound.py./lib/sound_pool/sound_pool.py./lib/sound_pool/sound_positioning.py./lib/speech.py./sounds/ ./venv/ ./__random.py./dice.py./settings.datI ran the basic `pyinstaller --onefile --log-level=WARN dice.py` command.The project, such as it is, is at https://github.com/skluttrell/random if that helps any.

The purpose of this guide is to introduce you to the console itself, give some general direction on GETTING STARTED WITH AND setting up the system, walk you through the process of PURCHASING and downloading games from the Playstation network, give some general tips on application and folder organization, and give some recommendation on the most blind-friendly games compatible with the console with the least amount of frustration to the average blind mainstream gamer. I have divided the article into each section accordingly to the guidelines specified above for easy navigation, so please take advantage of that at your leisure.Before I begin, here are  a few things worth noting. Since I am writing this article from within the United States, all titles will be listed according to their availability from the US Playstation Store, and prices will be listed according to US dollars, so title availability and prices may vary depending on your region. In addition, this guide will *not* include information pertaining to the modification of the console, or the illegal acquisition of obtaining and storing of digital and physical content on your console, so everything mentioned that is digital  will have been obtained legally, and independent of sighted assistance, with exception to system setup upon first boot up, and Wi-Fi connectivity. With that, let us begin, shall we?About The Playstation VitaIf you are already somewhat familiar with the Playstation Vita and its background and wish to skip ahead, please feel free to move onto the next section where I'll discuss why it is still important, and why you might still consider getting one today. If you already own a Vita and just want some good games to play, Please feel free to skip ahead to The Games section. If you're new to the Vita, or are just curious, stick around as we delve a bit into the Vita, a brief overview on its history, and what it has in terms of hardware.In late 2011 and early 2012, Sony released a follow-up portable console to the Playstation Portable, which was their successful  entry into the handheld gaming market, which before then was predominantly held by Nintendo. This SUCCESSOR was known as the Playstation Vita, which  in Latin, means :life." This is widely known simply as the Playstation Vita, or pch1000 model. It has support for both 3g and Wi-Fi connectivity. The pch1001 model, which was released at the same time  as a cheaper alternative does not have 3g connectivity, but does support Wi-Fi. I will refer to these models from now on as the pch1000 series.A couple years later, Sony released a revision to the Vita, widely known as the Playstation Vita Slim, or pch2000 series, which features a slimmer design and drops the OLED screen of the original pch1000 series in favor of a standard HD display in an effort to reduce the cost of the console. AS a result, it COSTS LESS, AND has a better battery life that lasts about half an hour to an hour more than the original, depending on what you're doing. It also has a smaller touch-pad on the back to address accidental touching, and slightly more prominent round home, start and select buttons as opposed to the pch1000 series’ flat, oval-shaped home button and tiny start and select buttons.The pch2000 model also has 1 gig of internal memory available by default, whereas with the previous models, you cannot save your game without first having a proprietary memory card. Although every model uses Sony's proprietary memory card, the PCH2000 model uses a standard Micro USB connection to charge, while the originals uses a specialized designed charger. Aside from that, all models are nearly identical in design and size, with the thickness being the most notable difference between the two.Since the Playstation Vita is region free, you can import it from anywhere in the world and use it to its full extent. The only minor difference in terms of functionality, is how the Cross and circle buttons work. For a Vita purchase from Japan, Circle acts as the confirmation button outside of a game, while Cross acts as the Cancel button. They will function as normal with games from western territories, with exception to a few Japanese games that have been localized. For example, your currently running screen reader will tell you the currently selected track when navigating through them with the up and down arrow keys. With skyscrapers, there is actually a level you can climb to and be above the psychos and their hammers. Not sure if that was there before, but I like it. I would be nice to not have to jump while pressing f to hit the helicopter, but hey, a little change is better than no change.

The booster being used is the very first Falcon 9 Block 5 built and has already flown 3 times, during launch it has been programmed to suffer a system failure which will prompt the Dragon capsule to respond with a launch abort, this is scheduled to take place 84 seconds after launch, with the 8 SuperDraco Thrusters firing for 10 seconds, it will then coast, jettison the trunk, and deploy its parachutes for reentry. I don't think it was made by Ghorthalon, (sorry if I spelled that wrong) it seems like various developers. It was a .rar file containing a lot of small games and simulators programmed in auto-it. Their were some that said they were made by DZK. What's the name of the file you have? The original file is simulators and games.rar.

All of the technoshock audio is just ogg, but with a different extension. So, all you need to do is make your modded sounds in the ogg format and then change their extension from .ogg to .z.Also, most of the sounds in the game, specifically the ones that will be positioned around in the environment, need to be mono, otherwise the game will crash. So that includes stuff like the ambiences, robots, weapons, player sounds, etc. The menus and cutscenes can be stereo but I'd make everything else mono to be safe.

I believe someone was working on an aardwolf pack, but I don't know if it was for VIP or if it was ever finished. Mccp is a mud compression protocol which some clients use which reduces the amount of data needed to share with the client. Aardwolf rewards you if your mud uses it, though I don't think other muds do.

The energy boosts are actually just that, a boost to your current energy number, and that 3000 border does still apply for them. The same goes for health boosts btw. Survival packs can always, be distributed somewhere, but the fact that they are only in the pk map is to make it a bit harder to get full packs, unless you do quests... we might come up with a few new dropping points or so, feel free to suggest...3. newbies and suggestions: it's not to annoy new peole, or yung accounts. but to prevent people creating accounts to suggest something utterly random... they'd probably still get banned due to spamming if it happened to that end, but it saves us as admins lots of work if there's a certain limitation involved.

@29 zero, none will hire you onto their staff as a blind game tester, that role does not currently exist in any studio anywhere in the world. There are some people working as external consultants, but that requires experience and face to face meetings. There's some more information in post 11. What you can do is start building connections with local developers. Don't think of it as career development, there's no career path yet. Instead think of it as a way to help make games accessible. As magurp said don't ever sidle up to a developer with an expectation of them giving you a job, that's not how any of it works. If they want you to take part in user research sessions (come into the studio to to watch you play and ask you questions about it) they should be paying you for your time and expenses to do so, but if they are just someone who is interested in accessibility and helping them isn't going to take up lots of your time (e.g. a few emails), do what you can to help and stoke that interest.
