Not sure if anyone has heard of this game. Its somewhat old but still running strong. Its not accessible but it has always caught my interest. I post this top8ic to see what people, if anyone has heard of it, thought how it could be accessible. After seeing The Spire turned accessible, I thought perhaps this game had a chance. As the combat system is card based just like Spire. But for anyone who doesn't know about the game. Basicly, you are a wizard, different kinds are available from death to storm. You do quests, fight monsters, a basic mmorpg. I just thought after seeing mods for mainstream games, perhaps I could send something to the developers with some hope. I think if many things had text tags things could be accessible, but that is just me simplifying it. thanks. Curious of others thoughts.

Fate series and accessibility

greetings folks. Any of you hear of an old game series called fate? My girlfriend loves these games and I just got to thinking. Since there are these mods for normal games, like gta and the spire. What if there was one for Fate? The game itself seems staightforward and not to complicated. You have 2 main areas. The city, and the dungeon. With in the city, you have merchants and other npcs, which you mainly trade with. There is a pool, which you fish in and that is about it. Then you have the dungeon, which is in levels. You kill monsters, and collect items as you go. I don't know, I just thought, out of all the games out there, this one seems rather simple and figured perhaps something, even if its ideas, could be made to figure out what one would need to make this type of style game accessible. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hello all. Glad to see others are trying this once more. As for thesoundpack, srik is still around. If there are questions, suggestions, or any ideas, let me know and I will send it his way. Also, as for bad characters we are trying to make it more friendly, so if any off you encounter any issues, try to remember its rp enforced, so sometimes its more of a character than something personal. What are your thoughts on sryth, for those who have played? Is it worth buying packages, are they fun, are the items worth it? What do you think of the many things than can be bought? Is there any muds you know similar to this, with selection of items and things? I have barely started playing once more, but it has been a while. One thing I can say, is I love the selection of items but it is a shame they are only through real money that you can purchase them. Or just the price as well.

If you encounter any issues with the soundpack, please post them here, and I will speak to srik about them. He really would like feedback on it, so any suggestions for improvement as well, all well appreciated. As for the mud itself. I find this mud to be complex enough but to the point that it is also simple. I mention this because, I saw the question about the maps. Most maps don't really add much besides being a map. The cities are small and the area quite easy to navigate, then again, I have played for a long time. Point being, a text map probably really would be overkill for this mud and probably take away from the fun exploration aspect of the game. I am also happy to help others get around if needed, just ask on the newbie channel:) Cheers and enjoy!

greetings all. I have posted about this mud before. But for those who perhaps don't know about it, its honestly one of my most favorite muds. Here, you don't worry about levels and neither is it a simple kill kill mud, where you just kill the same mobs over and over again and not press any buttons. This mud requires you to pay attention, making combat quite complex by giving you specials such as knee, elbow, and kick. As you improve the skills through simple use, you can unlock more specials such as elbow unlocking, bodycheck, which is a move that when successful knocks your opponent to the ground or can even break limbs depending your foe. Crafting is still a work in progress but there are a few things you can craft such as potions and learning books. If you want to join us:address: geas.deport: 3334The main point of this post, however, is the implamentation of a soundpack, one created from a sighted player who I approached to see if he would share it. He was generous to share it and on top of that, he has gone out of the way, to make a separate one to be more blind friendly, as the one he initially had was very visual with different windows and things. will download the windows app and see for myself then. as for geas, here is the info, ont here a lot myself, actually the packmaster for the rangers, so for sure, at least that one is active:) Also, there has been quite the flow in of new players, so rp is picking up, and like always, those interested in combat, I can say, this mud, has quite the beauty system for that:) but of course, I understand if some don't have the patience for rp or if one sought for masters to be around all the time, though what I have heard is that, they pop in here and there, and if you send them an in game mail, or leave a note in the guild hall, they do their best to pop in for what you need. Ah, no. So I have the sounds in the right folder. But while in game, I try creating the trigger, but the sound still won't play. It does like a error sound from windows.

sounds not working for muds

hello all. I just downloaded a cool medieval folder with sounds. However, even though I put the sounds in the sounds folder of both mushclient and VIP Mud, none of them will play the sounds, and the sounds are in wav format. Any idea why this may be?

Well the only reason I decided to try vip,mud, was because I thought it woud make my mud experience on the iron games much easier, but it seems I have more trouble than with mushclient. thanks though, for all the answers quite helpful. I may keep trying it just to see if maybe things will get more comfortable over time.

hello there, I have a few questions about VIP mud. Is the 30 dollar purchase a one time thing? Is there a way to read more than the 9 lines with control-number, like if I want to read 20 lines behind, without going to the output window. Is there a way to save triggers? I have made a few but everytime i open Vip, I have to redo them again. thanks!

what I recommend, and this is just me, is pre-suit up. I used quite  bit of my priest's spells before the battle and my characters special abilities before hand, and then entered the battle.

help with swamp update

hello, I bought an account and downloaded swamp from audiogames, which is ver 3.5however it asked to update to 3.6 b in oder to play online. I downloaded the patch of aprone's website. but how do I update? i ran the swamp in the patch folder, but it seems to be a separate thing, as there are no voices, and my minutes aren't  registerred, any help what to do is appreciated.

Muds: what is everyone playing

since there is a veriety of muds out there, and no doubt some quite obscure or not too well known ones, i though i would make this topic to see what people are currently and in the past, played. I myself have been hooked with Geas, do to its great team combat and archer fighting system. I have also been popping in and out of frandum and squaresoft. There was also a mud i had been playing with  a mud that was a mix like 4 dementions. It was a bit odd, so i quit. but i may give it another chance, it was interesting as it mad medieval, and it was in germany, so the char names and things were in german, and you could go ask a languist what the words mean. So i learned a bit of german:d it was interesting, though don't recall what the names of the knights were. Will put the name in, when i find it, hope to see what else others are playing, enjoy

hello thereI have been playing Geas and it has a martial arts class. It is of course a classless mud, so its more like a skill set. And it, to me, is  great. You have basic kicks, such as side kick, roundhouse, and those sorts, and once you get those skills high enough, you unlock other advanced kicks. For example, this is not the case just an example, once you get roundhouse high enough, you can then do spin kick. that sort of thing. You also have hand combat, and you can disable kick combat, so you can decide what fighting style you wish to part take at any time.

something that would be interesting is to have a topic or an article with instructions or at least a basic idea as to how to make a mud with doun packs. if there is anyone out there willing to give this a try, i am happy to be a test subject, as i learn ratehr quickly and if i can figure it out, i could make sound packs for other common muds like frandum and those sorts of muds. i have many sounds i just don't know how to incorporate them into sound muds. something i suggest is perhaps looking into sounds from the tactical battle game. they do have quite a bit of interesting sounds.

as for the ratcatcher quest. you don't kill rats, you must capture them. to do this, you must ask the catcher about traps. once you get them. you drop them before there is a rat in the room.once a rat comes in, instead of attacking you, it will smell the cheese on the trap and walk into the trap. you must get 5 traps with rats inside before you can get your reward.

for the most part, each city has a few quests, most are pointed out by a helper found in pubs and inns. arborea, from what i know has a few. There is the commander of the forces who gives a few quests. he can be found 2w, s, w, n of the town square. his secretary also has a quest. From there, the herb shop owner has a quest, but this one is not to be taken lightly as it requires one to enter the swamp which is really dangerous especially for beginners. there is also teh stables owner who  may have a quest depending the time of day. those are the ones in arborea.

i just barely realized only the beginning of my post appeared. my apologies. I had a quick question and hope someone can help me. i use mushclient, and when playing quite a few muds, i noticed an issue and its in uoss as well. The issue is, that there is a lot of info but only a bit of it shows. For example, i looked up the archer help file and only 22 percent showed. I know this, because at the bottum it said "more, 22 percent" so my question is, how do i continue the file? I don't know how to make more info to show or to go to the next page, any help is appreciated.

mud suggestions

hello all. I have played muds for a while now so i know quite a few. However, i have not played too many for me to say that i am familiar with the popular ones. hmmm i can't remember what part that is. but there is several situations. There is the part where you must walk slowly along the path, because it crombles if you go too of track. then there is one where you must get to the temple, if its the temple, just follow the sound of the bell. if its the path that crumbles just check frequently on your daughter and where she is and just follow her foice.

yes, i am playing empire mud, if you wish to give it a try, my char is Finick. it is rather nice, i like it. as for looking for land to claim and create cities, their text map gives cordinates to the land masses which you can sail to.

well i joined yesterday, and just became a ranger. Rather excited, bloody diciple course was confusing for quite a while. the Messenger course was probably my second favorite, and the hunter course my first. The people are helpful, but i do find npcs fighting to be hard to stumble upon. And i do not know if i did something wrong, but thus far, i installed the sound pack for this game but have heard no sounds yet, is there a reason perhaps? For now, i find this game to be nice and a good descriptive world.

hello all.i heard mush client was accessible.I downloaded the plugins needed, but when trying to install them in the client, they fail. I tried editting the path, as that is what it has asked me to do, but still no luck. also, if anyone could help give me some tips on how to read and use jaws with mushclient would be helpful. the jaws cursor nor the virtual cursor seem to want to read anything after i put in a command. So any keystrokes or commands would be well appreciated thanks.

hello all. I managed to install the mushclient rather fine. But when i run it, JAWS doesn't read anything, i tried the virtual, jaws, and invisible cursors, but i have not been able to have it read or interact in anyway with the client. Please help! I saw some plugins on the mushclient description in the audio games, but the link to Randy's laptop mushclient article seems to be broken. If the jaws plugin is required, where can i get it or how, thanks for any help, i really want to try some muds!

hello allI have been keeping an eye out, on this game and so far i have been able to find little. Has anyone heard of this game? It was suppose to come out last year, but the kick starter did not reach its goal, and i am curious to know if they are still working on it. i did not create this game, i simply found it. Though i do know what you mean, there are many issues with it. I am thinking of taking this up and making something bigger out of it. there is also another one that has sounds, which you may like to try. Simply search for "textcraft" and it should come up, this one you must download. overall, the one i posted here is very basic, to get stone and wood, you simply punch things. the "textcraft" game, is somewhat better, as you can actually see what you can craft, but i can not figure out how to get a weapon into your hand to fight. i use the Jaws Cursor and Pc cursor for "textcraft" just to let you all know. I am glad to see there is interest in this, and considering both of these games are simply basic, I think i will see if i can improve them, believing that they do have potential.

hellhere, i have heard of audio games working with wine. especially swamp, though i have yet to make it work. if anyone makes swamp work with wine, let me know, i would be interesting on the steps. as for those listed, i have not tried those, i will have to do that some time. i think listed games that work for wine here, is a good idea. then we know which work for sure.

hello everyone, this is my somewhat first post, so if it comes out weird let me know, not used to forums. but cutting to the chase, i was playing imperian by irongames, but found it difficult. so i went to achaea and actually like the cities and rp involved. does anyone still play achaea or imperian? and if so, what do you use to play, and any tips would be helpful. i use there webclient, but if anyone has a better suggestion let me know, i like the irongames muds, but could only use there webclients, and that could be a bit tedious at times. for example, when fighting npcs, you must wait to regain your balance, and i must constantly try to reach the actually test, but it always refreshes or something of the sort. so if anyone can tell how they manage to know when they regain there balance and can attack again will be helpful. the reason i ask, is because, by the time jaws says i have regained balance, i got a few hits, sew hp drops. thanks, will appreciate any help.
