Yep, I'm using it on Linux, and just spent an hour playing Death on the Road. Really, this game manager is even great for finding *new* games to play, that I've not played before. I mean, when setup is as easy as choosing a game to install from a menu, it's incredibly easy to try new games, and i would encourage any developers to think about supporting this, or even adding your games to the list!

Okay y'all, spent like hours and hours and years playing this game non-stop. Finally figured out that the game plays the combo you press first, then does a sort of transition sound then you perform it. I'm probably very like early in the game now, at the Merc battle at most... Although it looks like branching storylines which will probably get confusing. Having trouble doing races. I have the speed boost, but it's still very, very hard, even on the easiest game setting, to beat these races. I also kinda need to spend more time with the game sounds. Which sound pack do y'all use, the first or second?Okay so I'm pretty shattered. Like, Adonalsium Shattered. I'm probably gonna sleep like all day or something or look through this thread for more info and tips and stuff like I should have done earlier before poasting. But yeah it's amazing game and I'm glad I bought it from Itch.

The simple plain text, great descriptions, easy combat, and rewarding quests make it really good. I don't know if it'll replace Clok for me, but for now, it comes closer to "a good MUD" than a lot of classed, leveled ones I've played.

Okay, after playing the game more, I really like how descriptive things are. I do wish that some things, like the mining container text, like "you open a mining container. You put a fossil in a mining container. You close a mining container" could be shortened a bit to just "You open a mining container, put a fossil in, and close it." Also, after the first description of how a person's chat message comes out, it just get repetitive to hear the same thing over again, so maybe just show the full description of the way someone talks once every 5 or so minutes, maybe. Or just have this congifurable of course. But really, the attention to detail is astounding. Just look at how you're portrayed when you even move around. "You turn left and stride north." "you cut across the side of the room and head south" all that. That kind of attention to detail is what really enriches the experience. I do kind of wish that CR has more hooks into social networks, or even something like Hooks, (http://www.gethooksapp.com/) although I'm not sure if you can ask for your service to be added, but they have apps and ... hooks, lol, for Android, Messenger, Kik, and all that. May be worth looking into. And of course the Mushclient soundpack, but shoot, I'm over that now I guess.

Okay, one problem I see right away is that the Mush-client pack download from your site's soundpack page in the Cosmic Rage section leads to a Dropbox 404. Rant ahead, but know that this isn't against the MUD, it's just how things happen I guess, and I will be trying the MUD, with one of the given soundpacks of course:I know VIP Mud is great and all, and if you install Mush-client directly and set things up one by one it is complicated, but see the Unofficial Squarsoft MUD's sound pack to see how easy it can be, just download, unzip, run mushclient.exe and you're ready to go. Contrast that with VIP Mud's thing, copy this here, that there, run vipmud, configure this to that. Really, it's the opposite. The commercial client makes things more complicated, by being commercial, so no one can really make a pack, just instructions that have to be loaded into a client. But what do I know, VIP Mud must be easy to build for, plop in a sound, a line of text to match it to, and there you go I guess.Edit: Just tried out both sound packs for VIP Mud2. Sierra's pack hasn't been updated since 2018, June something. If it has been, that newer version hasn't made it to the site, and might as well not exist for new players. In the Readme, there is no info on how to even start using the pack or logging in. For me, that makes the pack useless as I have little prior knowledge of VIP MUD, with its laughable UI with its unlabeled edit boxes for character name and whatever else. Ugh, that's the most angering thing I've ever seen, a program made for the blind, having edit boxes that aren't labeled so that they can be read by screen readers. And don't give any excuses of "just use sapi for UI". No, that's just inaccessibility. Snap's soundpack didn't come with a Readme, changelog, installer, or anything. I have no idea what to do with the thing. Very unprofessional, even for a community effort. "but oh just find these people on Twitter or CR and they'll give instructions." Do you think a new player would put in the time to do that? Heck no. I almost quit the Unofficial Squaresoft MUD because I have the set freaking aliases for skills when they could just do fuzzy matching like Alter Aeon seems to do. But I still don't know what to do with these packs, so I may not play the game again until these huge barriers for entry are solved.So yeah, I'd just remove the link to the Mush-client pack, and just say the blind player will need VIP Mud, a commercial, $30 client, to enjoy Cosmic Rage at its best. And please put in that Tintin++ is a good client for Mac and Linux users in the list of clients. Mac users can use TDSR, Linux users can use Fenrir, both make using the terminal a little less painful.

Okay, one problem I see right away is that the Mush-client pack download from your site's soundpack page in the Cosmic Rage section leads to a Dropbox 404. Rant ahead:I know VIP Mud is great and all, and if you install Mush-client directly and set things up one by one it is complicated, but see the Unofficial Squarsoft MUD's sound pack to see how easy it can be, just download, unzip, run mushclient.exe and you're ready to go. Contrast that with VIP Mud's thing, copy this here, that there, run vipmud, configure this to that. Really, it's the opposite. The commercial client makes things more complicated, by being commercial, so no one can really make a pack, just instructions that have to be loaded into a client. But what do I know, VIP Mud must be easy to build for, plop in a sound, a line of text o match it to, and there you go I guess.So yeah, I'd just remove the link to the Mush-client pack, and just say the blind player will need VIP Mud, a commercial, $30 client, to enjoy Cosmic Rage at its best. And please put in that Tintin++ is a good client for Mac and Linux users in the list of clients. Mac users can use TDSR, Linux users can use Fenrir, both make using the terminal a little less painful.

Oh yes, I'm loving this game. Did a lot in Secret of Mana, and started on Chrono Trigger, a bit lost there because Marle went poof, and I can't find Luka anywhere in Guardia or Truce, as the Wiki says to look for her.I'm currently a monk, with the ability to go Geomancer, so I think I'll try that job too. I'm Devin in the game, if anyone wants to say meow.

Yeah, pretty bad for Mac users, or those who don't want to just use demoware all the time. Ah well, I suppose I'll get VIP MUD and try it out for 30 days, but once that time is over, as a way of protesting, I'm deleting VIP MUD and won't come back to the game until a Mushclient/Tintin pack is created. Sure, the game doesn't directly endorse a certain pack, but it doesn't help matters by making a pack for a free client for their free service, either.

Hi all. Are their plans to create a tintin++ soundtrack for those who love Mac and games and the same time? I know, first is the Mush-client pack, which I'd also like because I really don't like how VIP MUD does the demo thing with a huge $30, $10 more than a hero's call, price tag. I'm also pretty surprised that people still make sound packs for VIP Mud, since Mush-client is both free and probably more extensible. Also, one can just bundle Mush-client into their sound pack, to make a portable app, already setup and such.Alternatively, is the game playable without a sound pack? Can a player still get as much out of the game, less spam, filters, less combat text, all that, without a pack? Being a realist, I'm sure this'll be VIP-Mud first forever, and Mush-Z and others will just have basic packs.

Okay, I'm going to try the Messenger version on Android, with my Braille Note Touch, which runs Android 4.4.2. It is a device which allows the blind to read screen in Braille, although it is very expensive, $6500, so only the rich and those in good standing with their rehabilitation counsellors can purchase it easily. Anyways, I'll report back when I try it.

I've recently downloaded the game again after a few months of not playing. I'll show y'all how good this game is by explaining something.I rarely give money for games. The only time I did was for King of Dragon Pass, because, well, everyone should experience that. And I bought Uno on blind fold RS-games, mistake as I rarely play it on the phone now that I have a Windows computer. I've spent a good $5 already on the time crystals. Five whole dollars. So yes, it's that good. I'll probably spend more than this on it though. I'm on part two, the door.

Also, I found that I could enter the wilderness even with sword at like, level one. I was able to clear one or two areas, which was cool and was why I could level without even going through the ruins, the first dungeon. Just wanted to let y'all know that is possible, hopefully I'm not repeating someone.

The biggest problem I have is that when I type L thing if there is an item called mysterious thing in the room, it says there is no thing here. This happens a whole lot with items, and makes things very, very frustrating. If I want to look at something, I usually use the noun, not the adjective, as saying look mysterious even with the at the sounds awkward at best, and no one wants to have to type look at mysterious thing or look at mysterious-thing if the items are one of those pesky items that are hyphenated as so many of the fluxisch lvocabulary is. Working with items and all is probably the only frustrating thing about this game. And um, the bats in the first quest killed me, and there is no breather unit thing for exploring that thing that wants you to go underwater. Yeah, I need help.

Okay, so I finished quest 1, and I feel like Ive had enough for the day. I might connect tomorrow. I dont know exactly how I feel about the game. Im not sure if the frustration with trying and trying to find stuff outweighs the real joy of finally figureing things out.

No mac/iOS version, no money. That goes for all games. Yeah its hard to make cross platform games, yeah I can play in vm-ware, but playing for a while and spending quality time on a cool game are two different things to me.

Goodness, are sighted games as hard as AAC? The main thing I have problems with is jumping the pits. I mean, in other games, you just jump, tap right a few times, and thats it. But here, the pits are so close together and all, that I dont know when to stop. I cant even get passed the first set of pits in the mario level of the first chapter. Is there just, something wrong with me?

Well, there are such things as web apps, arent there? Yeah, HTML 5 is fairly good on iOS, and voiceover works wonderfully with the quentin C playroom web app, so vo could work fine with any web app that has any kind of accessibility.

I honestly don’t like the game. I mean, I guess its because I’m not exactly a kid, but uh, it said in the description that a teenager was playing it, and she “couldn’t wait to play against her sighted friends.” There is no multiplayer, and even though you could play your high score against another person, what sighted person would want to play it? I really think we shouldn’t be faced with tragically simple games like this. Music instead of a car sound? Very stereotypical. Being blind isn’t about music, music, music all the time. I know, I might be just more used to mainstream console games and their “cool” factor type thing, but blind games for me have become, for lack of a better term, boring, except for BK3 and some others that’re actually rather fun, not because of the story since you either have to know Japanese or be able to interpret something from barely anything, but the gameplay is rather cool. But the “press space when the sound is in the middle” and simple games like that have got to go, along with the thousands of space-invaders that so many games amount to. Papasangre is okay, but even it has those same elements, tap when the duck is in the center, enter the door in the center of your headphones, go catch them bubbles, all that, just makes me grown inwardly.
