Oh, another thing.. In other ships like specialised ships and larger models, I notice that it takes really, really long for them to move to another point in space due to the drive only charging one point per hour. Is there a way to wait less? One point per hour makes things really, really slow.

@caio Indeed, if you want to be a colonist you would need to specialise in exploring and then unlock the colonist master skill and purchase the colony ship.@orin the game will sometimes suggest 'lonely factions', these are factions that are active but only have one player. You can also view these visiting computer > faction > switch faction > lonely factions, this will provide a list of lonely factions closest to you, which you can request to join (or message the leader).@darren I remember that spectacle with New Dawn Corporation, that is an outlier for sure, but having factions mates you can rely on is a must. On the bright side NDC seemed to have bounced back - they have far more members now and have rose to be the third most powerful faction in the game, josling for second spot with another.

yeah i must admit i like solo play. that way if there's a screw up then you only have yourself to blame. the faction i was in had a couple rogue elements which ended up in costing all our ships including an advanced tanker of mine which i brought to the faction i might add but i worked really hard to get to the point of having that particular upgraded ship. took me weeks of work and because of a couple spotty nose kids i lost weeks of work in a matter of minutes because all our technology was impounded by transgov. as a result, respected members of our faction left because we looked like a joke, the 2 who caused all the shit left as well leaving 3 maybe 4 of us to try picking up the peaces. well after a while i became so disheartened i left the game. it's a shame because it is a good game with tons of potential but all it takes is 1 stupid moron to spoil it for the whole faction.

I wish you can have multiple characters. I like solo play for the most part, but it seems this game really depends on the whole faction thing, even if you're an only member.Also, if you're not good at marketing your faction when players probably have their groups, promoting may be an issue. That's why I wish that, should you choose an option, the game can select an open, recruiting faction that has a low population or maybe a faction that needs members for your character at the beginning of the game.

@Caio, you should see buttons for the various actions. If you go down to the bottom of the page and then back a heading to the last message from the game text spaced, you should then be able to use button navigation or the arrows to see possible actions, as well as the game text. Hth. I'm afraid I'm no expert on facebook messenger, indeed facebook generally I find a right pain in the rear, and Text spaced is the first time I've used the messenger, though I'm glad it seems to work for me.

@cacio we actually updated the combat system a couple of days ago to help address this further. The combat is still card-based, but now you set targetting modes for your weapons instead of manually targetting them (unless you really want to). This free's up time to focus on playing non-attacking cards of which you can play 3 of each turn, with the choosing time being 2 minutes. Additionally, the targeting modes work with autoplay, meaning you can choose a targeting mode (strongest, weakest, fire at will etc) and then enable autoplay to play the rest of the cards for you. The default targeting mode is also 'weakest targets'.

Sorry about the questions. I believe I understand my mistake. I didn't realize that - negative numbers indicated direction of travel, meaning that all that's necessary to get to something out of range is to wait, I also didn't noticed the "next" and "previous" buttons on the destinations page to get to stuff further away. so I will eventually be able to trade my goods after all .@Caio, you can try combat simulations under I believe the tactical tab. I tried one just now  to see what the interface is like. It seems clear enough with everything labeled that should be and indicators as to what is happening, though since its real time you do obviously need to keep up with incoming messages. Actually that's the one thing I do wish, that incoming messages were read automatically, but hay going up to the last heading and reading down isn't too bad, and often necessary to click buttons.

Wow, lots of questions @dark, I'll attempt to answer them.Different players will start in different parts of the universe, to see what is around you, cou can use the nearby option under FTL which is under helm. If you are looking for a specific strucutre, such as a trading structure to sell your cargo, you can either use the FTL trading macro by typing "FTL trading" in the top level menu or visit Helm > FTL > Structures > Tradings > Your preference, this will show places you have discovered. If you haven't discovered any sectors yet this may not show a lot, so you will need to explore by travelling to near by sectors.Your light drive will charge over time, a Shuttle charges a light year of travel every 5 minutes and yes, it is a difficult game everything has to be worked for. You should aim at getting a faster ship when possible (ships are cheaper then you think), most player controlled shipwrights have crafted their own ships that are pretty quick and of course NPC shipwrights have their own collection as well. Okay I'm having another look at the game myself since this one has needed an entry on the database for a while now. My old account seems to have gone bye bye, but I don't particularly mind since I wasn't exactly far into the game anyway.I'm currently trying out some mining and hoping its working.One thing I do find a little odd, is that when I try scanning for stuff I'm told nothing is around, and yet when I look at nearby sectors, everything is unexplored. I'm literally stuck in the middle of no where . Is there a way to scan for stuff that you can actually get to? EG mining destinations, trade ports etc? Similarly, when I look at missions, they're all thousands upon thousands of L Y away, which makes them pretty useless to me, even those that would actually be possible to complete. Btw, I thought there was a way to scan nearby sectors for planets, minable stuff etc, yet when I look on ftl I'm just told the sector name and unexplored and that's that, heck there aren't even any stable planets round here.Edit: okay, full hold, no where to sell anything, and not enough light speed to get to the nearest trade station or wormhole or whatever even if my drive was at maximum power (I found the scan structures option and the nearest trade station is 63 LY away and I only have a max of 30 in my drive), talk about making things hard at the start, I seem to be %100 stuck .

I would like to ask the admin of Text Spaced, Apollo, to let me back into the game, and allow me to at least play it. Whatever I did, even if all offenses he accused me of would be true, I have committed those when communicating, chatting on the game's Discord channels, and not in the game itself. In the Text Space game itself, I haven't committed any bannable offense, haven't violated any game rules, haven't cheated, used multis, intentionally abused features, nor harrassed or annoyed other players with messages, again, in the game itself. I have even donated real money to it, twice even, despite my pretty modest financial situation. So permabanning me from all game related Discord channels, including the possibility to PM other users there,  should be a strict enough punishment for whatever I did, there is no need, nor a valid reason to permaban me from the game itself too, taking away from me my main, primary entertainment, which occupied, filled the very most of my vast spare time.Regards, Cacciofrom Hungary

Hi all.We have some bad news I'm afraid. We have received communication from Facebook about Messenger that states the following:"Our team is currently not supporting accessibility for Messenger Platform. They have put supporting accessibility on the roadmap for the long-term but in the short term there won't be a fix for this."This came to a surprise to us, as originally they had said they would be focusing on accessibility. This means that the mobile version of Facebook Messenger wouldn't be guaranteed to be accessible for some time, so the web version is the more viable solution. We wish this was better news and will continue to try and push them on this issue. We will also explore other platforms for the future.On a more brighter note, we thank you all here who continue to play and pushing us over the 700 active player mark. Its been a great journey so far.

Hi Merin, Orin,I'm not sure what your aim is, but there are many options to filter destinations under the FTL menu. When you engage at a destination to far away it will provide a "nearest destinations" option which will take you as close to your intended destination as possible, based on your current charge. If you wish to just travel an arbitrary amount you can do this via smart macros. For example if you type FTL followed by a space and then a whole number in the free text box you will travel that many light years. For example typing "FTL 1" will move you one light year to the right, typing "FTL -1" will move you one light year to the left. You can use any amount you wish, so to travel your full charge of 20 you could type "FTL -20".You can also use waypoints in a similar manner, typing "waypoint 1" will engage straight to waypoint 1 in your computer without any preamble.In terms of the transfer m
 issions, these are meant to be done by large ships that have long ranges, the missions will filter based on your hold size with a very large range of acceptance - but it should state the distance involved in the mission summary.I hope this helps.

Actually, Orin, the game measures how long you played based not in actual playtime but in number of clicks/taps/enter presses that Interact with it. One click advances, if I am not mistaken, 3 seconds, but I think I have to re-read the games FAQ to confirm that one. About the things you can buy in the Merchant station, which includes, but is not limited to, overcharges, (books also have this rule applied) change every real time hour. By the way, even though this one was already answered, you cannot make your character read the books. You buy them and your character reads a random one when he or she is bored. They are good to raise your skills or give your character knowledge about various things. Also, don't forget that if you find bugs (typos count too), you can get a few extra credits by reporting them! This might help in buying better ships...

Hi Orin,This is indeed an issue we have raised with Facebook, their app seems to not handle large conversations too well. Depending on your device, you should be able to view the messages list of all your conversations in Messenger, 3D touch or otherwise invoke the context menu on the conversation and choose "Delete Conversation".All of the state is stored our side, so just by saying something again to the bot after finding it, you will continue from where you left off.

Hi Orin, yes Facebook are being pretty slow in actioning our reported bugs - but they are getting there.In terms of transfer or delivery missions, you should be able to do them all, its just you may have to jump several times. Using the 'nearest destinations' option as discussed should help with this.

Well, at least half of our Facebook Messenger problems have been fixed on mobile. The options now come up for most things, only problem I have is that when viewing destinations for a mission, viewing possible mining destinations, the message that would normally display this info isn't being displayed on the mobile version, and this is using the messenger app.On another note, I'm wondering how to best find resources to mine that gives me a few thousand per round? I seem to be in an area now with a lot of mining platforms taking up resources that I can't hand mine with the ship. Also, I wish there was a way for the computer to only show available transfer/delivery missions that my light drive can handle the range for. I just accepted one that I had to cancel because, while I could pick up the cargo, the destination was too far.

Hi Merlin,Glad you are enjoying the game. You can purchase ships at a Shipwright (Helm -> FTL -> Structures -> Transport). When you navigate to a sector outside of your jump range you will be presented with a option for 'nearest destinations', following this nearest destinations will get you closer to your intended target. It's also worth noting that destinations are always prefixed with either a negative symbol or positive symbol (something requested in this very forum), this lets you know if its towards the left or right since the universe is one dimensional. I hope this helps.

It actually takes a hash of your global public Facebook ID and decides what you are from that, so unless you create a new Facebook account you will always be the same character.

Hi Orin,Yes, the bot expects on the most part for the options to be selected unless otherwise stated. We can look into supporting typing yes in this case though.You actually start of at level 15 (as you skills can go down) and after the first day will automatically go up a division which will give you a reward (providing of course you don't do something that cause your skills to plunge lower). The Shipwright an be found by following the menu items Helm -> FTL -> Structures -> Transport and then choosing Shipwright.I hope this helps.

Okay, so I just came back after being dead for a few months and I appear to have the Alpha rewards now.There is a huge problem with Safari on the Mac and the m.facebook.com messenger on the mobile site. i can no longer see the options for doing anything. On the Messenger mobile app on iOS, I can see the options but not the messages.

Hello there! Well, I do look forward to developing my character, autough I've not had too much contact with other players..By the way, I`d like to know something.. Currently, I've managed to purchase a barge.. Why does it have to take so long to recharge? I mean 1 lyevery 30 mins.. I'd like to know if it would be pocible to diminish the time to say one ly every 10 minutes.. I say this because with 30, the shipisn't very usefull, bcause it takes too long to charge.

We've opted for a model where the actions or routines you perform effect your characters skill, where eventually you can learn master skills to head in a career direction of your choosing (https://textspaced.zendesk.com/hc/en-us … 5002235713). You can also unlock Insignia is you want to align yourself to a specific group. In terms of character traits we believe this model will aid with that, and the biography of each of the characters is defined so you can learn more about them as the game moves on, through story and organically.Populations is something that is possible within the game, if you choose to get a master skill as a colonist you will have access to the colony ship, from here you will be able to gather settlers and create settlements on planets or asteroids. In a similar vein you may also choose to get a master skill as a terraformer, meaning you can improve (or if you really want make a worse) a sector. These skills we imagine will often go hand in hand.In terms of NPCs visiting your sectors, they will do this if you have structures such as merchant stations or shipwrights but certainly as settlements become colonies and eventually civilisations the NPCs (and other players) will certainly interact with you more.

Good afternoon to all,I've finaly been able to start to play the game and I must say.. I really like it. Both the universse and the menus, everything is just very welldone.I have a few ideas that I think will improve the game if implementedFirst is something I call perks. They are things which will help to define your character's personality. These would be defined when you create yourcharacter and it would be just basic questions like.. Was your childood happy? Yes, no? Did your parents died?That sort of thing. This would allow players to have more control on the books their character would like and would, imo, add a bit of flavour.My last idea would be to give factions populations.. So lets say you colonize a system. You could have npcs coming to your systems, soldiers, (who would form your fleets), etc.

Hi Caio,This is indeed the problem. The more complex Facebook components are not accessible to are being ignored by screen readers or simply stated as ‘scene’ or ‘object’.As already mentioned we are working with Facebook to resolve this and previous users in this thread have provided work arounds.

Hi Caio,Not sure what that spam is about above :0Anyway, you appear to hit the issue other users have come across in that some components in the Messenger platform are not accessible - so are not being read. We are working with Facebook to change these components but in the meantime as other users have shared, the best approach is to use the web version instead of the app version.If you are especially interested, the bug is being tracked here: https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/1941947716047051/

After my last post, I've learned, in practical terms, what the articles warned me about but I did not listen:Never, unless you want to have your ship destroyed, leave your ship hanging around inside a sector and leave the game. It is much harder to be attacked in null space than while mining. I lost 2 ships because I went to sleep and left my ship unattended. Even being totally weaponless, someone engaged into combat with me. However, it seems like, and I might regret saying this because it gives ideas (lol), except for the Money you spent buying your ship and equipment, you lose nothing from having it destroyed if you don't die and get rescued by the escape pods and even get a free new shuttle, without owing to TransGov, the government, for that present. However, since I am a natural tester (and typo Hunter!!!), I am still trying to earn money to buy an engineering and a capital ship...

If I am not mistaken, you can get the link for the game in the first post of this topic. It is a link to open up a chat window with the bot itself, then you just say "hi" and start playing! However, I don't have iOS, so cannot say anything about it. It Works ok on Android, but some people say that the buttons to operate the ship and buying and selling stuff are not working right on said system. I don't know if you can remedy this using Safari instead of the Facebook Messenger, but via PC it Works ok via browser on the normal, not the M, version of Facebook. And you can level up by mining, crafting, buying books related to the things you want to level up at, etc. Your character reads a random book once in a while!
