Re: Audiogame soundtrack BT sync folder: is it legal?

Ok. Let's check that out. There are two laws which you'll have to confront yourself with:The first is the law which allows you to store that kind of data for your own private use. That means that you're allowed to have those sound effects and music and listen to this stuff without any risks. The second law, and that one will take your idea down, is that it's forbidden to share this stuff with other people.BT sync folders are quite open. Everyone knowing the link can enter it, thus the law will kick in and you can be punished for sharing this stuff with literally everyone, because people (hackers and other people) can spy on you using the BT sync folder and hack themselves into those folders too. The downside of torrent stuff is that you're always uploading this stuff when a new user enters the folder, making it much easier to find and punish you if someone out there (maybe the game developer or owner of the music) keeps an eye on the
data transfered or ordered some company to do so.That's why BT sync folders containing such data won't be legal in any case. You can, of course, think about the risks and how high the chances are that a) the sound effects and music used by the audio game developers were used ligally even before you got them and b) they use to check the internet for illegal activities regarding this kind of stuff.Considering a), I mentioned this because many audio game developers intend to use already prepared music which are "stolen" from other games, e.g. Crazy Party only contains music from other games, which isn't legal at all.So, it's your choice if you want to do that or not, but it might be possible that some ambitioned audio game developer with some amount of money might be able to track you down and you might get into trouble. Don't know how many audio game developers are out there who could be willing to do something and would have e
nough money to do this, but anyway. You wanted to know the current state of the law.Best Regards.Hijacker

There you go:https://github.com/Timtam/cards-against-humanity/You'll only require someone to host a server and you'll be fine. I guess I can compile a server and client for you to execute and provide some link to it here soon if you want.Advantages with this client include:* play together with your sighted friends* multiple client languages supported (german, english and russian for now)* card databases can be modified by yourselfYou'll only need someone who grabs the editor and feeds all the official CAH cards into an english database, because there is just a complete german database available yet, since this implementation is pretty new.The cool thing about this concept is that you can even add some strange cards, or some specially typed ones (like a Harry Potter based card collection) in and you can play with those cards too. No problem here, you deci
de about the cards to play with. You just need to add them to the database.Have fun.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: pokemon X or pokemon Y, does anyone have a download link?

Hi,first of all, Pokemon X/Y are Nintendo 3DS games, not Nintendo DS. Second, what are you going to do with them? The only way for now to play them reliably is by using a Nintendo 3DS Flash Card like Gateway 3DS or something, since Citra 3DS, the Nintendo 3DS emulator, isn't yet stable enough to emulate them as best as needed to enjoy playing them. Finally, I don't think that we actually support piracy here. Sharing links to illegal ROMs of games falls under piracy, so you won't get any link from me regarding this topic.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: magic the gathering

Hi,I believe noone ever told you how expensive this will get right?Just think about the following:MTG is a really big card project. Just imagine WoC will allow that game to be created, the developer has two options:Either work on it beneath his actual work task (which will result in less cost, but much slower work, it will probably take years to complete that way)or work fulltime on it, which means you'd need to pay him fulltime so he can buy food, pay his rent... which results in probably more than $1000,00, per month.I'm not sure if you can handle paying a real developer programming a game you like, because thats not how it usually works.Developers are payed by employees to work for their companies, because they got the money. If you, as a private person, want something developed, you either find someone who does it for free, you do it on your own or you will probably never see the end result of the product, because the dev works months and years beneath his actual job, and this most likely results in a never-ending project, because the motivation drops after some time, and you aren't willing to pay him for doing nothing.Just think about it. I guess trying the payment way doesn't lead you anyway.Best Regards.Hijacker

Well, I don't think the developer of the yugi mud got permission to do that, but I know that the developers of interfaces like YGOPro DevPro or YGOPro2 already got problems with the lawyer so they needed to prevent people from downloading their stuff publically on the net. Thats why you need to join the discord servers to grab the links, because thats some kind of a gray zone right now.WoC are even worse than Konami, thats why there is, except of XMage, nearly no other MTG game on the net except the originals from WoC, because they track you down and make you pay if you try to do that. I believe the main developers of XMage are stationed in some "protected" country like China, where the laws are a bit different from the ones in the USA or UK or whatever, which makes things harder for WoC.I never said you may not try it, I just told ya that it will probably cost you alot and even more if you try to do it privately and pay someone for developing it.Best Regards.Hijacker

First, yeah, you need Premium to download officially, and even if you did, the YouTube app won't let you get the video out of it. To download things, you'd need external tools like youtube-dl, there should be various websites out there that let you paste a link and grab a mp3 file and go with it.Second, this song is a Hatsune Miku song and looks pretty professional, so I doubt that this one isn't licensed in any way. I'd go contacting the YouTube channel who uploaded it to find out more about it before using it and getting hit with the licensing club afterwards.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: why bgt dont continus

the vgstorm games do have the exact same system requirements as all other bgt games have, no other version used there. You can limit your game to Win 7 and above using BGT too, just by calling the necessary system dlls to retrieve the current windows version and comparing that one to a fixed value.AngelScript however cannot be used to write a game directly, AngelScript is designed to describe dedicated languages, just like BGT.The thing I thought about however is that it is technically possible to start a new project, implementing the exact same functions like bgt does (same parameters and return values as well as names), and make bgt interpretable with it, which would be a breeze. AngelScript can also run under linux and even mac if i'm not wrong, as long as someone tweaks the generated language to support it and provides the compiler for that platform, which is the thing philip never did. Implementing the exact same functions with the exact same functionality would be the hardest thing here, apart from enabling the same language features bgt used. New features could be enabled as well, such as class properties, which is a feature AngelScript offers, but BGT never enabled and i'm missing those badly right now.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: why developers should port their games to the Mac

Its also not that easy to develope an own open-source screen reader for a platform that doesn't support it, namely Mac OS. It is possible for Windows, since Windows provides several accessiblity hooks (UIA, IAccessible) where screen readers can hook in and grab loads of useful information. Since Apple built their own screen reader, they don't need such hooks anymore, because VoiceOver already is a great screen reader and the reason Microsoft added those APIs for accessibility was probably because they realized that some screen reading technology would be needed, but they themselves didn't have the time to add a proper screen reader into Windows themselves, and if you look at narrator, they didn't even yet succeeded in providing a competitor for the screen reader market yet, even though they're gettin better with it with each release.Best Regards.Hijacker

We shouldn't forget all the advantages Apple's system has.* Development fees keep the App Store clean in regard of ad-only apps, virus and more and stop hobby-hackers from providing you with an infected app* OS-provided VoiceOver integrates much better with the entire system than narrator or some 3rd party screen reader does, and to be honest, it will still take narrator many years until it gets even near VoiceOver* the drop of x86 support enables all new and old developers to access all future-proof functionalities provided by all new systems, and to be fair here, the switch from x86 to x64 doesn't need alot of work from the developer at all, most of the stuff gets done automatically by the IDE.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: why developers should port their games to the Mac

In the end, it comes down to these facts:* developing for multiple operating systems results in more development times if you don't have cross-platform capabilities in mind from the get go.* developing for Mac always requires a Mac itself, even though it might just be to debug and test things in certain cases. Even though you can probably do this via a virtual machine from within Windows to, its more convenient if done from a real Mac, which is rather expensive.* signing packages and apps requires you to access a developer account from Apple, which itself doesn't cost only $100, but $100 per year. So, in the end, if you already happen to possess a Mac and maybe even got the Apple Deveoper ID already, it shouldn't be a problem for you to port your games to Mac or even develope them especially for that platform, but if you don't, its utterly expensive and no, the few Mac audio gamers won't compensate the pre-investment necessary to make the game available for that platform in this case, even if its a commercial game.Don't blame the developers here, its Apple who does things unnecessarily hard for developers here. If Apple wanted to enhance the developer's user experience here, they would improve the cross-platform access so that you can build Mac apps natively from windows so that you don't require a Mac to do this, or even reduce the Apple Developer costs, but nope. The developers shouldn't be the ones to be blamed here.Best Regards.Hijacker

The map system was a bit more of a problem, since I even nearly soft-locked myself between two moving enemies that were too strong for me to beat, but would never let me pass anyway. Re: Same walking sounds

Well, its pretty simple to explain why VGStorm decided to go for that approach. When having footstep sounds, even if there are like 10 or even more footstep sounds for one underground, you're very likely to hear them pretty often, because you'll walk quite often in those games. When using randomization with those low numbers, it is very likely that you'll encounter the same random number getting rolled 2, 3 or even 4 times or more in a row at a certain point, which would sound rather messed up and not that great. Thats why many games use a single sound cue with a given length and play that on loop, the longer the better, because you'll need more time to actually notice the loop in it.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: Why aren't more people talking about the YuGiOh MUD?

@ross: if you don't want to play competetively you can of course play what you want, but since the largest and most popular tournaments are the standard tournaments, thats the one and only way playing Magic competetively, thus you are limited to certain cards only.Best Regards.Hijacker

Yeah, it can run Android, but guess what, as soon as Android is flushed onto it, you cannot run Switch games anymore. Thus, Talkback might be able to run, but it won't help you to navigate the actual Nintendo Switch OS, but a simple and plain Android instead .

Re: nintendo switch accessibility

Well, accessibility in a game for me means that you can somehow play it without a sighted person being around you all of the time. It however can involve a sighted person teaching you to navigate the menu once, or using Seeing AI or something related to get the hang of it. That's why i'd consider the older Pokémon games to be pretty accessible, although texts and menus cannot be perceiped on your own, but you can remember the menu layout, grasp all attacks and Pokémon, navigate through towns and routes (most of the time) and thus can play the game, even though it might take some time in some cases. The Nintendo Switch dashboard itself isn't accessible due to several reasons like moving icons, auto-sorting and stuff, and the same goes for the two earlier mentioned games Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and 1-2-Switch, but if it comes to 1-2-Switch, some of the mini games like Table Tennis and alot more are accessible, because you just need to handle the Joycon right. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe does have an automation mode which enables you to drive on the maps as far as I know. Thats accessible enough that you can certainly play with your friends, although its still not accessible enough that you can do so on your own.Best Regards.Hijacker

2019-07-17 Thread AudioGames . net ForumGeneral Game Discussion : Hijacker via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Question about Yu-Gi-Oh Game

Well, a MUD basically is just a text-based interface which connects multiple people online. Thus there are several clients out there that are designed to play MUDs, the most popular ones being MUSHclient and Vipmud, if it comes to the visually impaired community.MUSHclient is a free solution, whereas Vipmud is a paid product, but focuses on visually impaired people. Both clients are accessible though. Both clients do have a soundpack for the YGO mud, both maintained by different people and thus having different sounds and different features. The MUSHclient soundpack can be found here:downloadThe Vipmud soundpack is hosted somewhere on Dropbox and i'm not sure if the latest link I know of is still active. If it comes to the MUSHclient soundpack, all you need to do is download the file and extract it somewhere and launch the mushclient.exe file. You'll automatically be connected to the MUD and your screen reader will read some text to you. If you want to re-read the text you received, use Ctrl+Tab to switch into a Notepad-like output window which reads all the text you received and sent. Use Ctrl+Tab to switch back to the Input window to write your commands. As soon as you made it into the game, people on chat will and can help you I guess. If it comes to Vipmud, there's a bit more required to get the soundpack running, and i'm not really sure what to do in this case, except that you need to purchase Vipmud first before you can even take this road.Hope I could help.Best Regards.Hijacker

You don't need to know the port if you already got the mushclient soundpack, because that one knows all the relevant information already. The port however is 1234.The mud is pretty active, depending on the time we got up to 20 players online in parallel. You can only duel other players though.Best Regards.Hijacker

At least thats how it works in Pokémon. I'm not sure however, didn't go down there myself yet.

Re: Manamon 2: Impressions Thread

Nope, not fail . The Life Orb is pretty popular in Pokémon and does almost the same. You don't care about the backlash as long as you can just sweep through your opponent's team with ease. Given that you even have one more attack slot in Manamon than Pokémon has, you can set up a powerful moveset on a really speedy Manamon and as long as your opponent cannot outspeed you, you can probably even crush their team with maybe one or two Manamon, thanks to the IMHO broken game mechanics which doesn't let you react as long as your opponent is faster. 10% isn't that much as well, there are standard 100+ damage attacks which do more. Experimented a bit with those equipment things, deffinitely broken on certain Manamon.Best Regards.Hijacker

Its not an oversight, in fact, such Pokémon do exist as well. Its pretty simple, if you don't have an exp pal yet, switch-train it until it learns a damaging move. If you do, things are even easier.Best Regards.Hijacker

@Darren: seems to be the same as with Manamon 1 I guess. So you can enter some number you can find anywhere in the game and you'll be able to call someone who cann tell you some intel about something in the game, probably a hint for some evolution or something. I don't know the number however, but am pretty sure that you can dial with the number keys while hearing the dial sound of the phone.

Re: Manamon 2: Impressions Thread

@Jayde: Volanteral really is slow and thats actually a problem here. That thing is pretty damn tanky though, and its ability prevents it from being OTKed by very effective moves, which means that it at least gets to attack once, even though it is so slow. It can also really pick a punch. I used it for the last part of the story and it worked pretty well, although its moveset could be more impressing for the work you have to put into it to get it to level 58 or something to get its last evolution. Mine can work with Charge Tackel, Stone Crash, Assault Gem, Dragon Blast and Dragon Slide right now. Dragon Slide is a stone+dragon move, so double STAB I guess, but yeah... a few different elementals would have been really useful here.Tip: Ultra Snow Shield can work wonders on it, it can easily handle ice types with it.A few questions though.1. I found the angel at the entrance to the catacombs and I did find the Desert Dragon Cave, but no sight of Pierre (whoever/whatever that is), Biren or however he's written and whatever. Do I need to go back to Barren Underground to beat him again, or how can that be achieved? And I read something about a protector? What is all that about? Or did he/she mean the Mythic Guardian in Cave of Fates? Also, i'm completing Manapedia right now. Just trying to save time, can anybody tell me if Minitaur transforms the second time by leveling up, or is trading/special equipment required here? It looks like its final evolution would get steel type or something, so equipment would be possible, although I don't remember any that would fit it from the top of my head.Thanks.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: Manamon 2: Impressions Thread

Just had the same problems here. You need to enter the picture, remember where all the items are positioned, exit the picture again and move the items around so that they exactly assemble the picture.Kangachan is the transformation of Kangard, which can be found before Mechamo City, and even that one is a transformation of another fighting type, which I didn't catch apparently.Kangachan really hits like a truck, due to its Boxer ability which boosts the strength of Strike moves + you can give it Boxing gloves to give a 25% boost to strikes once again. Its fairly common to it dealing over 100 damage with a normal damage hit, even though the Strikes are double-typed and it suffers against Sound and Ghost types. You can probably remove the Boxing Gloves and exchange them against a spirit staff to at least handle Ghost types better, but I guess thats up to you. If you already got another Manamon in your team that can handle ghosts, i'd prefer to stick with the extra damage. It however isn't the fastest Manamon in the world, but gets pretty high HP as well.I just re-visited the Cave of Fates and noticed a strange pillar appearing there. Moving upwards and soon downwards as well, I now found the fateful underground and would expect one of the Stone Mythicals to appear there, I just didn't get the hang of the puzzle yet to be honest.Best Regards.Hijacker

A grove is at least the Guardians Grove place? I however didn't find anything there, although I might simply not have the items required to do that. It can easily be reached from the city with the elder stadium, just go inside the tunnel back to the first city again and follow it back and watch out of a southern exit.

Regarding the walking: ever thought that not the amount of steps could be the relevant factor here, but the amount of keypresses used to walk?Example:You can press and hold a key down for like a minute to walk through the computer room, or press it like 150 times to do so. If the latter is important, then you can probably walk around this room for hours and not end up where you need to if you're just holding down the relevant keys.As I wrote earlier, I packed my team with all 4 Manamon which evolve by walking around and walked from west to east and back through Brytonburg, each step being one keypress (easier to macro that one on my keyboard). It were like 50 steps one way, so 100 steps back and forth. My keyboard then did that for a few hours, getting interrupted sometimes when NVDA thought it should open up the Update Available dialogue. But transforming all four of them worked well after I came back.Hint: if actually really the keypresses matter, the conveyor belt method wouldn't work at all.Best Regards.Hijacker

Well, to be honest I don't find the final bosses (last resort protocol/the two fights before and Chaos Ogma) to be too hard. I didn't even need to use the Life Crystal, it just worked first time and the damage input wasn't too overwhelming that I would have been unable to manage it with recovery skills/herbs. There were much more problematic fights IMHO, like the angel automaton which attacks you randomly, or the Mythical Protector, hell yeah even Benjamin was more troublesome than the boss within the other world. At least that is my experience on that. My team was about 57 however at this time.Best Regards.Hijacker

Well, I didn't say that Generation 6+ games aren't playable, I just don't recommend to try. They are beatable, yes, but thanks to nitpicky details like Wall sounds playing only once when walking against them, even though the step sounds continue to play due to round edges and the 3D world, things got alot harder since then. I didn't try Sword and Shield yet, they're still lying around in one of my shelves right now, got more urgent games at hand ATM. I played all games from every generation up to this point and tried them on my own as well, same goes for all the spin-offs, and X and Y, Sun And Moon etc. were modified in a way that it quickly killed the fun for me playing those without sighted help. I'd however love to see a blind Let's Play on them one day, because I cannot believe that someone would really go through the huzzle to do so without sighted help. Round edges make it that you cannot properly remember the map anymore, because you can slide on walls and end up far more up than you expected to when you just pressed the left or right control pad and such things. I also want to see how you handled the Ultra Sun and Moon's first island challenge, where the Pokemon have to be lurked out of their caves and they'll run from you into any random direction into another cave, and you can literally play this game forever in a loop if you don't know where to look for them, and you deffinitely need vision for that to see. The only way I can think off is that you got massively lucky, and I played that game for like 2 hours without getting that lucky until I finally gave up and called for help. I'm a bit sceptical to be honest. But maybe i'm getting old and am not as creative as I was years ago .

Emerald is great, as well as Platinum. Black and White 2 are no definitives though, but tell a different story later in time. In fact, Platinum was the latest combined edition in the Pokémon series until now, with Black and White 2 being the first which continued the story a bit. X and Y didn't even get a sequel, and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon tell the same story again, but a bit enhanced, with some additional post game content, but they are still two games instead of one.

Re: any tips for playing pokemon

You're technically right. Thing is that the one wall sound counts for corners as well. Imagine you're standing in a corner and bump into the wall to the right. Now you want to try and move upwards and to the right again. Instead of getting another wall sound when moving up, you just won't get one, not informing you that you are standing in a corner already. In fact, you'll get a walk sound instead, which you always do when you press the control pad, no matter if there is a wall or not. That makes things alot more complicated.

Nope it isn't, as I said multiple times earlier, all generations up to 5 are fine and most of them are entirely playable without sight. Things got worse from Gen 6 onwards though, with Let's go Pikachu & evee being the worst due to no random encounters anymore, but Pokémon running freely on the map and you having to throw the Pokéball directly onto them in battle in addition to all the other things.

Regarding emerald contests:I found the berry mixing to be rather inaccessible, BUT there is a solution to that. At certain events in the game, you can unlock the berry master to be available for an entire day as far as I remember, and you can let him mix berries with you. He'll always mix them perfectly, and even if you don't do anything or miss the timing (which you'll always do due to not seeing anything), the results will still be near perfect. Just go ahead and mix all your berries with him and feed up your Pokémon, they will be almost near perfect at almost all, if not deffinitely all ranks with ease. Seriously, the berry master is overkill. I beat all the contests that way years ago.

Well, to be honest, the let's go games wheren't ment to attract the hardcore Pokémon players, but where designed to grab all the Pokémon Go players and make them buy a Nintendo Switch, and it worked great that way. The difficulty isn't that high, but the most favourite Pokémon mascots are printed on the cover, the animations and overall integration was pretty cool and all the features known and loved from Pokémon Go were in there as well, like throwing the Pokéball by moving a JoyCon, you could even synchronize with Pokémon Go and take your let's go Pokémon with you into the park on your mobile. Sword and shield on the other hand are ment for hardcore players, although it seems that they missed the audience a bit.The exp share though... I don't like it either, but on the other hand Pokémon is still a JRPG, although it doesn't feel like it most of the time, and its pretty common in JRPGs to share the exp with inactive team members, so I pretty much adapted to it. Just keep your fingers away from Sword and Shield. The sound design got worse regarding accessibility. You don't have continuous wall sounds anymore, the movement control is 3D instead of tile-based, means you slide on walls and stuff, it causes headaches and you still won't get through it properly. Same goes for all the other 3DS games, X Y, Sun/Moon and Ultra Soon/Ultra Moon + Omega Ruby/Alpha Saphire as far as I remember. Played all of them, but only with sighted help. Ah yeah, and Let's Go Pikachu etc. as well.

I'm still missing a few bosses, especially the rematches post game, because I don't know where to find them.I found the Angel Automaton, and I read somewhere that I can find one of them in the Desert Dragon cave. But what about all the others? Where can I find Symphonid, Master Diaz, Byron or whatever?I walked through the Catacombs already and ffound all of the important items, but no hint about where to find them. But those catacombs are so incredibly  complex, I might have missed something.Thanks.Best Regards.Hijacker

Re: How can I play Ps4 games on the computer?

You cannot at all. Screen Readers are not available on the PS4 no matter where you live. You need to fiddle around with the menu yourself and get a game which is as accessible as possible (a few fighting games seem to be). Unlike for the PS3, no PS4 emulator exists yet which works well enough to play any games reliably.

Re: do alter aeon work with ithernet?

Thats just wrong. Dreamland works no matter the internet connection, same goes for any MUDs you want to play using VipMud. If they don't work with you being connected over ethernet, there is something wrong with your ethernet connection, but not with the games you want to play.

Re: Selling my projects

Re: Selling my projects

@20. It should be exactly how Jayde explained. Ivan knew what he was contributing too and never spoke with haily about the licensing rights. The project however was owned by haily, so he implicitly agreed to contribute code to a project which is owned by someone else by giving away his ownership rights on the code. He could of course have talked to haily and discussed that beforehand. But if you contribute to a project that is not yours and don't discuss the circumstances, you give away your rights regarding this code. The situation would be different if Ivan provided this code for free on the net, but licensed under whatever license and haily would take it and embed it into her project. Or if Ivan didn't even publish it, but haily would use it from whatever source. I am not a lawyer though and am unable to proove my point. It seems that it would however be pretty hard to even proove Ivans point though, he at least provided the pieces of code, but its always hard to proove that the code came from you and you alone and that you have the rights for that piece of mind.

Re: Unity working in earnest on making their editor accessible

I'm not that amazed yet. Experience shows that when companies say accessibility, they mean things like colour blindness and one-handed controls before really touching screen reader accessibility. But I can be wrong after all and would greatly benefit from such news.PS: First saying that he is developing for the linux staff, now Mac apps... sounds like Soren is unable to decide which cool topic to name next to sound great and knowledgeable...

Re: crazy party battle quest mode

I beat it fairly easy with a Ghost/Steel type deck, just to reduce the damage taken by the opponents. Ghost will reduce almost all of the damage to 1 HP damage and steel allows me to deal pretty neat damage in a short amount of time. Unlocked all six bots that way.

Sword and Shield won't be possible to play without a Nintendo Switch for years though.

There isn't a fully working Switch emulator yet. Not that it will probably show a blurry mess for latest titles like Pokemon or Animal Crossing, but the existing emulators don't support sound output yet either AFAIK.

Re: Nintendo Switch vs. Switch Light? What to choose?

The Switch is a nice console, but there are very few usable (not accessible) games. You can play some minigames from 1-2 Switch with your friends, and can probably play the newest Pokémon games (didn't try yet, they are still resting in my case right now). There are probably more, but thats all for the ones I tested yet. I do have one of the first-version ones and have never seen a lite, so yeah.

Thing is, since he didn't produce all the tracks himself (like someone previously mentioned, he used alot from Kevin MacLeod), he may not redistribute the soundtrack in any case. So there is no chance to legally sell soundtracks for any of the Paladin Of The Sky or Manamon games.

Easiest solution: defeat wild Manamon, that will end you up with enough gold to get you going. Just disable attack animations to speed it up.
