Marek

I believe licensing in a provincial thing, numbers.  TC registers vessels.  I’m 
with Rob I registered with TC in 2005.  To do so you have to do a vessel search 
to ensure the name you use has not already been registered.  A friend tried to 
register “Amazing Grace” and had to go with Amazing Grace XX to get a unique 
name.  Cost of registering was $250.00 at the time.  Recommended if transiting 
foreign countries.

Stus-List Vessel documentation renewal

In hindsight, no, I did not register the name.just licensed the boat 
to get the 'license numbers'.


I made up the name thinking no one else would copy me and yet a boat 
here at the Armdale club did.I took the word 'azure', the color 
blue, dropped the 'e' and added an 'a'and capitalized to get 
"AZURA"meaningless name.

Are you sure you “registered”? Normally, you get the boat only “licensed” with 
TC. Though, in Halifax, you may want to register, as I bet you sail outside of 
the Canadian waters.

I needed a copy of my Certificate and did a google search and inadvertently 
went to their web site.  I started filling out their firm, but stopped when 
they started asking for my social security number.  

They wpnted $175 for the renewal Certificate that the giv charges $24 for.  So 
I filed a consumer fraid complInt with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION.
