Probablement si, vu que, suite à un déménagement et  à un changement de

Peut être est ce parce que tu envois des mails en HTML et que c'est le
mal absolu.

C'est probablement le mal absolu.
J'avais aussi oublié de préciser que j'étais passé récemment de lenny à 
squeeze, d'où upgrade d'icedove et changement de configuration par 
défaut qui m'a échappé.

J'ai essaye de demarrer avec radeon.audio=0, ca ne marche pas et
radeon.audio=1 ne marche pas non plus.

Par contre j'ai trouve ca:

Et ca l'air de marcher. Comme mon probleme est que la carte HDMI est
active, il suffit de rediriger le son vers la carte son plutot que

Je ne sais pas si c'est la meilleure solution mais ca fonctionne :D

Par contre, la carte HDMI n'apparait sur la aplay -l O_o
Est ce que c'est normal?

Bonjour,

Je ne reçois plus les mails que j'envoie aux différentes mailing-lists 
auxquelles je suis abonné, suite à mon déménagement.
C'est un fait qui vient d'être confirmé par l'envoi d'un message 
intitulé Test sur duf.


Avant :
FAI : france télécom
modem-routeur : Netgear
smtp déclaré dans icedove : identique pour toutes mes adresses gmail : 
smtp orange

os : debian lenny

Maintenant :
FAI : sfr
box: neufbox sfr
smtp déclaré dans icedove : smtp gmail, avec utilisateur et mdp 
correspondant à chaque adresse (l'utilisation du smtp de sfr bloquant 
pour certains destinataires)

os : debian squeeze

Rien trouvé sur gogole.
Je suis preneur de toute idée.

Juste pour confirmer, c'est effectivement la seule manipulation que
j'ai trouvé sur le net pour également faire ça. Le d-i ne veut pas
d'espace libre en fait (d'après les derniers trucs que j'avais pu lire
même si ça date un peu).

Donc le plus simple est de l'attribuer à un volume/partition (pas la 
peine de chercher la taille exacte, d-i devrait lui attribuer tout ce 
qu'il trouvera) que tu supprimera par la suite pour le récupérer (d-i 
preseed/late_command ...) et hop =)

Après quelques recherches, j'ai trouvé une solution !
J'ai ajouté les lignes suivantes :

Mais avec celles-ci, je ne suis plus interrompu durant l'installation.

Par défaut vous recevez une copie de chaque message que vous envoyez à 
la liste. . était correctement renseignées dans les options de mes 
mailings lists, je viens de trouver cette option sur ma neufbox : 
Autoriser l'envoi de courriels uniquement par l'intermédiaire des 
serveurs mail du groupe SFR qui était cochée...

gmail élimine ces messages, ce qui n'est pas une mauvaise chose; la

Pourquoi ça n'est pas une mauvaise chose?
Parce que ça permet à la copie locale d'être traitée par par les
différents filtres locaux, notamment procmail, et donc d'être routée
au bon endroit; plutôt que se retrouver pêle-mêle avec le reste dans
Inbox  Sent.

Pour le précédent message j'avais remis comme smtp sfr (mon FAI), et là 
ça fonctionne je reçois bien via la liste ce mail que j'ai envoyé. Pas 
tout compris, mais bon...

Witam,
dzisiaj chcialem sobie zainstalowac debian 6.0.3. Uruchomilem instalator i 
wszystko przebiegalo dobrze do momentu zidentyfikowania przez instalator 
urzadzen sieciowych. 
W tym momencie komputer zastygl w bezruchu a zielona dioda na karcie 
sieciowej informujaca o polaczeniu przestala swiecic . Dodam, iz mam obiecnie 
debiana 5.0.6 i tego typu blad (niemozliowsc wykrycia karty sieciowej) zdarzyl 
mi sie po raz pierwszy.
Instalacji probowalem przy podlaczeniu kabla sieciowego do wbudowanej w plyte 
karty sieciowej jak i przy uzyciu oddzielnej karty sieciowej.
Prosze o jakies sugestie

czy to zrobiłeś przed próbą instalacji z oddzielnej?

A może to coś innego? Nie wiem, moja magiczna kula słabo dziś działa.

Bajar paquete y dependencias

Bunenos dias mi nombre es Marcos Pablo y tengo la siguiente duda :

Quiero bajar un paquete y sus dependencias por ejemplo apt-get -d mc pero
esto solo me baja el paquete mc, no sus dependencias.

Como haria para que me baje tanto el paquete como sus dependencias.

Todo paquete tiene como dependencias un kernel y un sistema debian base...

Igual seria posible montando la unidad donde lo quieres instalar por nfs o
haciendo una instalacion por red. Aunque solo por los calentones de cabeza
que te va a dar no lo recomiendo. JEJE!!

Te repito que Debian (ni ninguna otra distribución) puede hacer nada a 
ese respecto. No es Debian quien configura las páginas web que dan 
problemas, no es Debian quien hace las pruebas de verificación en 
distintos entornos para ver si esos servicios dan problemas cuando se 
ejecutan desde diferentes navegadores y en distintos sistema operativos.

¿Acaso debería Debian hacer mal las cosas y definir una configuración 
predeterminada errónea sólo para que funcione como Windows quiere que 
funcionen y para contentar a los usuarios? ¡Espero que no!

Si sigues la lista sabrás que respuestas vas a recibir.

Si haces esta pregunta, la respuesta es NO.

Normalmente un kernel mas nuevo aporta mayor soporte a hardware (solo
útil si el otro kernel no lo soportara), mayor rendimiento en algún
caso, corrección de bugs o nuevos bugs (depende...) y puede que alguna
nueva característica en cosas como sistemas de ficheros, gestión de
memoria, etc

A veces la inclusión de un nuevo kernel requiere la actualización de
otros paquetes, puede ser problemático si no eres un experto.

No, ten en cuenta que la VM no tiene acceso directo al sistema real, lo 
que puedes hacer es instarlo en una VM y volcar el sistema virtualizado a 
una partición o disco duro (lo que se conoce como instalación en bruto o 
de tipo raw).

Estás usando el modificador -d:

-d
--download-only
Sólo  descarga  los ficheros con los paquetes, no los desempaqueta ni
los instala. Opción de Configuración: APT::Get::Download-Only.

 Como haria para que me baje tanto el paquete como sus dependencias.

Las dependencias (requeridas, recomendadas y sugeridas) se descargan/
seleccionan automáticamente al instalar el paquete, no hay que hacer 
especial.

Si te refieres a cómo descargar el paquete con sus dependencias para 
instalarlos offline, no conozco ningún comando directo :-?

Gracias Camaleon. Te acercaste bastante a mi duda. No, no quiero 
instalar un virtualizado dentro de otro, pero sí me picaba la idea de 
poder hacerlo desde un virtualizado al disco duro del equipo anfitrión. 
Obviamente era un delirio de fin de semana, nada más. Lo del CD y lo de 
la instalación por red ya lo sé y en otra oportunidad los usé exitosamente.

apt-offline

Lo instalás en el equipo que no tiene internet, generás el archivo
para luego ir a un equipo con conexión y, usando apt-offline y ese
archivo, bajás todos los paquetes que te hacen falta para poder
instalar lo que quieras en el equipo sin conexión.

Yo creo que con

# apt-get install -d mc

tiene que bajar todo. Puedes probar primero con

# apt-get install -d -s mc

para ver que es lo que va a suceder. Yo lo acabo de probar con Gnome y
me bajaba todos los paquetes de los que dependía.

Actualizar no. Instalar en paralelo, sí ¿por qué no?

Puedes compilarlo tú mismo (bajado desde kernel.org) o usar el 
repositorio de backports, por ejemplo.

Configurar tableta WACOM Digitizer II (UD-0608-P)

Me acabo de registrar en las listas de Debian, espero encontrar solución a
mi problema, perdonad mi ignorancia.

Dispongo desde hace muchos años de una tableta digital marca Wacom modelo
Digitizer II (UD-0608-P), su conexión es por puerto serie. Estoy tratando
de configurarla en Debian squeeze, según la información que he encontrado
esta tableta y otros modelos anteriores no tiene soporte en el módulo para
wacom implementado actualmente en xorg, buscando en foros y otros sitios he
probado varias configuraciones y he descargado y compilado varios módulos
que siempre 'prometen' dar soporte sin conseguir hacer funcionar la
tableta, en algunos casos he llegado a bloquear el entorno gráfico completo
al añadir la configuración para la wacom en el xorg.conf

Escuchando el puerto serie se pueden obtener en tiempo real todas las
coordenadas transmitidas por la tableta, si mi nivel de programación no
fuera de principiante intentaría buscar solución adaptando de algún modo el
módulo actual para wacom de xorg, ya que hay una versión usb de mi misma
tableta y ésta si está soportada al 100%, pero con mis conocimientos del
sistema actuales en un principio descarto esta opción.

Sé que actualmente se puede comprar por un precio muy razonable una wacom
bamboo básica que está completamente soportada por el actual módulo wacom
de xorg (aunque la inclinación y presión del lápiz no reacciona del mismo
modo que en entornos windows o mac), pero ya por terquedad quiero hacer
funcionar mi tableta, es algo que tengo pendiente desde los 5 años que
llevo utilizando linux (y una wacom actual del tamaño y velocidad de
reacción de la Digitizer II asciende a más de 300 euros).

Espero encontrar solución a mi problema, qué módulo debo utilizar y qué
configuración de xorg para que funcione, al menos como ratón.

Acabo de clocar en el archivo

Si pudieras indicar exactamente qué cosas has probado y cómo ayudaría mucho.

Si bien el artículo es viejo, fue actualizado por última vez hace poco
más de un mes, tratando de hacer funcionar el mismo equipo, y está
hecho en debian así que no veo porqué no debería de funcionar.

Exactamente lo que he probado no sé deciros, han sido muchas cosas en
bastantes ocasiones a lo largo de varios años, desde foros de debian, de
ubuntu y páginas de ayuda hasta la dirección que nos indica Gonzalo L.:

Imagino que la solución estará ahí explicada, de hecho he recurrido a
ella varias veces, pero no he sabido entenderlo ni aplicar los cambios
porque no he conseguido que funcione. Habrá que echarle un ojo con más

yo puse es_ES y es_UY entre comillas y separado por espacio, parece

 trabaja de maravilla actualmente tengo el kernel 3.3-1

Sorry por el tiempo tuve muchos problemas (tiempo) pero, al final hice
eso use el kernel de la rama Testing - Trunk y funciono de maravillas,
lo que si hice fue cambiar LXDE por xfce, que lo encontré mas
Nítido.

Estoy sacándole algunos detalles eso si.

ajudar a identificar o problema.

trying to make a print server from an old pentium 100 64M RAM. I had
to take that route because the USB-parallel cables I've got don't
work. Anyways, first tried to install debian stable but it crashes on
boot. Something with the IDE controllers. btw I think there are some

it seems it becomes slower as work progresses.

My question is how can I speed up the process or somehow limit the
package lists so apt completes in a reasonable time? The only thing I
have in sources.list is wheezy main repo. Is there any way to further
limit the number of packages?

The nouveau driver is working well on my machine, maybe you'll 
do better to use it too.

Dear Debian Users,
I have a question for you. I'm trying debian testing in these day but I
found an annoying problem that appeared to me in various Ubuntu releases
and Debian Squeeze too.
I have a HP Pavilion DV5-1199el notebook, and when I reboot the system,
everytime I heared a crackling noise for a second, then It stops and HP
BIOS appear.

I reported few times this bug on launchpad, and for 2 or 3 releases *buntu
don't had this issue (e.g. 11.04 and 11.10).

Now the problem reappeared both in Ubuntu 12.04 and debian testing too.

To convert debian stable in testing, I fired following commands.
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade


For the record: If you want to set up a testing system starting from a
stable installation CD then I would recommend to only install a
minimal stable system (no graphical environment etc.), upgrade this
minimal system carefully to testing (kernel, udev, dpkg, and apt first,
the do an upgrade, followed by a dist-upgrade) and then install the
rest of the system from testing. Your approach is asking for trouble.



Yes, I know that this is good method, but It requires more manual task 
to set a working desktop environment.

But dist-upgrade failed with following error.

I think one or more of the following may help to untangle your system:

- Comment out all third-party repositories and run apt-get update

I have done it, but same error is continued.

- Add the usual lines for the stable repository (squeeze) to your
   sources list and run apt-get update. (There may be rare cases where
   a stable package needs to be installed temporarily to help break a
   dependency loop.)


I am going to try with latest 6.0.4 kde live cd and fire dist-upgrade 
and hope, it may solve the prob.


- Run apt-get install -f, put its complete output on pastebin.com (or a
   similar site) and send us the link.

- Also show us the output of:
   apt-cache policy phonon-backend-vlc libvlc5 libvlccore4

Looking at the amount of RAM you have, I suspect that what's happening
is that the first 11% of the work is able to fit into RAM, but then your
system starts swapping. As far as I'm aware, Debian should run in 64M
RAM, but it WILL need to swap a lot. I'm not entirely sure there's
anything you can do about that except be patient.

If you have room in your case for a second drive, you MAY eke a bit of
speed out of it by putting a second drive in and putting the swap
partition on that. That way, apt can be accessing the files (probably
mostly on /var) while the kernel is sending data to the swap. At the
moment these two functions are contending for time on the disk.

I think that the easiest way to report a bug is to use reportbug-ng.

Install reportbug-ng and open it.
First open Edit -- Settings and select your email client.
Then write the package name to Query or Filter and press enter. If you
don't find your bug, press New Bugreport in top left corner, write
summary and press OK. Now reportbug-ng opens your email client and you
can write description to your bug report and edit other details if
needed. Reportbug-ng automatically puts some information to the report.
Then just press send and wait for Debian bug tracer to send you
notification that the bug is reported successfully.

Excuse me, that can't be serious. Not really usable to wait a week for

boot drive of 1.2G so perhaps create a local proxy/mirror on it with a
small subset of the packages? Any ideas how to do so without the need
of another machine to serve as the proxy/mirror?

However, what if some user has a symlink to /usr/share/doc in his
public_html? I haven't tried, but it seems that the bug would still
occur (otherwise the right solution wouldn't have been to remove
the alias, but to change how the scripting modules can affect some
paths). IMHO, the real bug is in mod_php or mod_rivet, that shouldn't
be active (at least concerning the scripting features) by default
unless this is explicitly told with some Options for the concerned
directory.

I think the problem is not booting from the ISO but the loader from
ISO to find itself. Here is an article about booting an ISO [1]. But
it is much easier to create a small dos partition with freedos (for
the free dos and the content of the ISO). Then copy the files from the
install CD to that partition. Start freedos and run the windows
installer off it... not sure what exactly your use case is though.

as well as some useful tool like gparted, then puppy etc.

Now I like to have the win XP installer image too in that pendrive.
If I can boot freedos via grub then there would not be a problem to
have win XP installer. Has anyone already tried that ?

You surely can. But you may need another partition to host DOS and
configure grub to run it like you run windows with grub in a
multi-boot setup on HDD.

There are GUI applications for watching TV, for example Me-TV, kaffeine
etc. Pick one that suits your needs.

I have never used the remote that came with my stick - therefore my
answer would be no. But it obviously depends on your needs/preferences.

BTW: Of course, there is no necessity to use GUI applications like Me-TV
or the like, since there also are command line tools or big media center

Nice to know. But I think I have to extract files from the .iso and
copy those within the DOS partition; unlikely the grub's ability

grub failed to boot after updagre

Hi,
I´m running wheezy and after a typical dist-upgrade grub doesn't want
to boot. It seems that grub can't find the partitions.
Anyone else has this same problem?
I have dual boot, sharing macosx and debian wheezy and never had this
problem before.

With great easy. The remote control is configured as an input device and 
mapped to predefined key presses - pressing 1 on the remote is the 
same as pressing 1 on your keyboard. It doesn't control the device 
directly.


I've never used the remote that came with my DVB-T card until this 
morning, and I've been using that card happily for over 5 years.



2. What do I have to do to get TV reception?


This is a good question. I use MythTV, which recognises my card (and 
should be fine with your stick, as the kernel presents it properly), but 
that is a bit over the top for just watching TV.


mplayer supports playing TV from such devices, but I haven't tried this 
and don't know how to set up the tuning.



3. Do I have to buy any more hardware? eg, should I buy the device new
so that I get all the relevant h/w?


You shouldn't need any other hardware, although I'd recommend connecting 
to a proper antenna, as those little ones don't have good reception.

Kaffeine does have the option for digital TV, but I have not been able
to get any TV data.

xbmc does not have any TV input: it does not recognise the Nova-T as 
input. Futhermore, I do not understand MythTV setup. I have not been

able to install the mythtv MySQL initial file because I'm denied access
to the MySQL database.

This is all very confusing. In the first instance, I'd simply like to
watch TV on my Linux PC without sophisticated DVR functions. Can anybody 
help me?

Mmm, I don't know the capabilities of gtklauncher but if it works on 
one computer it should also work in the other.

As it gets stuck after login, more than a connectivity issue I would go

Wheezy: dragon player not working with phonon-backend-gstreamer?

Hi,

I used dragon player with phonon-backend-xine and it was working fine. However, 
since phonon-backend-xine had been deprecated in wheezy, I installed 
phonon-backend-gstreamer and removed phonon-backend-xine. The result is that 
dragon player is no longer able to play videos (mp4s), dragon player starts up 
and just shows blank square instead of the video. Tried the vlc backed with the 
same non-working result.

Any ideas? Thanks

I've heard people say good things about tvtime, which 
you can install from the debian repos...
Sorry I'm not more knowledgeable on this issue.
In fact, somewhere around here I have a tv tuner usb 
stick (forget which one, but it might be the same one) 
which I never really tried to get working. I hooked it up 
with winXP for testing purposes once, and quickly realized there's
really nothing on I want to watch, so it just sits here somewhere 
Probably I should give it to someone who will use it. :)

Icedove setting


Hi,

When I tried to add an account of quasi-hotmail [1] one in the icedove.


POP setting
Server name: pod51003.outlook.com
Port: 995
Encryption method: SSL

SMTP setting
Server name: pod51003.outlook.com
Port: 587

The re-test process and password all passed, but once the account set 
up. when I tried to send email, it popped up some waring.


An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect 
greeting:  +OK The Microsoft Exchange POP3 service is read


I tried:
IMAP setting
Server name: pod51003.outlook.com
Port: 993

The same problem.

Well, starting from gnome-shell, mutter is the window manager which 
relies in clutter as the graphical library to draw the GUI.

Probably worth a try with elinks (or opera or iceweasel or 
some other proper browser), as libwebkit purports to be 
made to be embedded in other applications, such as mail 
readers, or web browsers. It may not your best bet 
in this particular instance...

My Hotmail account uses 'live.com'; Have had problems with it. It does 
work on one machine but doesn't work on two others; I think they only 
allow one machine to access the mail server, but that is just my 
thoughts on it.   :)

I have removed the mini-antenna and plugged the USB stick into an amplified
indoor aerial. Unfortunately, I have no software which recognises the 
device apart from the kernel which loads the proper firmware. Can 
anybody give me some simple instructions for getting TV reception? I'm 
quite happy using the CLI. What I need is some guide on how to get TV 
reception.

As others have already said, MythTV is overkill for just watching TV,
but:

The MythTV package needs to create a database called mythconverg.  In
order to do that, it needs to know the MySQL root password.  It may be
blank by default.  If you don't know the password, you can reset it if
you have system root privileges.  You'll have to google for that,
because I don't remember how to do it...

What device is created for the usb stick?  Is it /dev/video0?  Check out
the permissions and make sure your user has access to it.  Are you a
member of the video group?

I guess it's a different server?

I got the POP3/IMAP and SMTP info. from home.live.com, after login 
mailbox, there is an option,  for settings to access  e-mail using POP, 
IMAP, or SMTP.

No. if I chose 587, it would auto-detect STARTTLS for it.

Yes, I've read that web page, but it does not help me.
I've tried Kaffeine and VLC, but neither of them produces any TV input.
Kaffeine does have the option for digital TV, but I have not been able
to get any TV data.

xbmc does not have any TV input: it does not recognise the Nova-T as
input. Futhermore, I do not understand MythTV setup. I have not been
able to install the mythtv MySQL initial file because I'm denied access
to the MySQL database.

This is all very confusing. In the first instance, I'd simply like to
watch TV on my Linux PC without sophisticated DVR functions. Can anybody
help me?

I've installed tvtime, but it does not get any input from my Nova-T USB
stick. No /dev device is mentioned by the kernel. It said registering 
adapter 0 frontend 0 (DiBcom 7000PC) and the kernel issued the message
DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge Nova-T Stick). The kernel also 
refers to input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as 
/devices/pci:00/:00:1a.0/usr1/1-1/1-1.5/rc/rc1/input7 whatever 
all that means. The final kernel message is

dvb-usb: Hauppauge Nova-T Stick successfully initialized and connected.

So, the kernel recognises the device, but I am unable to get information 
from the device to any programs.


What now?

Mmm, but those reports are for alsa (sound issue), I don't see any 
relation between this and the BIOS.

 I would like to report this bug in Debian BTS, hoping that this problem
 will disappear before the final release of Wheezy. How can I do that ?

You can use reportbug, it can be run from command line or using a GUI 
and you can also manually write an e-mail to report the problem (more 
information on the procedure can be found here¹). 

But I'm still unclear about your problem.

With great easy. The remote control is configured as an input device and
mapped to predefined key presses - pressing 1 on the remote is the
same as pressing 1 on your keyboard. It doesn't control the device
directly.


Under what circumstances does 1 on my keyboard correspond to 1 on a 
remote?



I've tried me-tv, which just hangs, mplayer, which cannot be
configured correctly,
vlc and kaffeine. So far, no joy. No TV at all. What am I doing wrong?


What device is created for the usb stick?  Is it /dev/video0?  Check out
the permissions and make sure your user has access to it.  Are you a
member of the video group?


Yes, I am a member of the video group. I've checked /dev and there is no 
video0 or any other video device. The kernel does not mention any device.
