Re: [Dx4win] Search For QSOs with Deleted Entities
If you ask a report (QSO window>Reports>DXCC) and check included deleted, you can go at the end where the deleted entities are, and double click on mixed, you will get all the QSOs of this entity. In case you have one of them checked you need to uncheck it to see but then I assume that you don't need to see this one... If you want to see all QSOs in each entity and not only Checked or confirmed, etc you can create a temporary log where you can clear confirmed QSLs and lotw, and clear also QSL date. Then the above procedure should work for all QSOs (really with the same "value" QSOs but value is now worked). Because I am outside of the shack I can not check it but I remember that works something like this, or not? 73 Kostas SV1DPI Στις 2/8/2022 22:56, ο/η N5KM - Kris έγραψε: Lee, Thanks for your effort coming up with that solution. The following involves many steps but once you do a section once, repeating it for other prefixes should be faster. Basically, you get a list of deleted DXCC countries that you have worked (Reports -> check "include deleted" -> OK). Then for each deleted country (indicated by a D in the column with "D" in the heading) that you have worked, note each "prefix". For EACH of those prefixes, do the following: 1) While on the QSO screen 2) Click Filter 3) Click "Cancel filter" 4) Hit F8 5) Hit the TAB key (or click in the Prefix box) 6) Enter a prefix you want to search for 7) Hit Enter 8) Click File 9) Click Import/Export 10) Click the highest DX4WIN format (Ex. DX4WIN8) listed 11) Click File 12) Click Export 13) Enter a file name for the .DXQ/.DXN file to be created (I used the prefix with any slashes changed to dashes -- OK/D would have filename OK-D) 14) Click SAVE 15) Click YES when it prompts with "Filter active, use it for export?" 16) For each prefix you extract, note the count of how many QSOs were exported. This will help you verify counts later -- after you make a log from all the exported files. 17) Click OK (after the export is done) 18) Click File 19) Click Exit Once you have created a export file (.DXQ/.DXN) for each of the deleted prefixes in your log: 20) Click File 21) Click NEW (create a NEW DX4WIN log file) 22) Navigate to the directory where the Export files were created 23) Specify the name of the log file that will contain all your exported data For each prefix file that you exported above, do the following: 24) Click File 25) Click Import/Export 26) Click the DX4WIN export version number that you used in step 3 above 27) Click File (on "Import / Export Filters" screen) 28) Click Import 29) Enter the export file name (Prefix?) that you used earlier 30) Click Open 31) On "Options for duplicate QSOs" screen, click OK 32) Click OK (after the import summary) 33) Click File 34) Click Exit If you have more prefixes to Import, go to step 24 Once you have Imported all your Prefix files: 35) Click File 36) Click SAVE (to save this log to disk) 37) Click File 38) Click Info In theory, the "Nr QSOs" value should equal the sum of the Imported QSOs counts in step 16 above One caveat I am aware of (might be others that my test file didn't find), I entered prefix of KZ5 which resulted in 60 QSOs. Re: [Dx4win] Search For QSOs with Deleted Entities
That's quite the process, but it will work. Two comments: 1 If you do "Listing Worked" instead of just "Listing", it eliminates all the blank spaces and is a little easier to read. 2. If you type "KZ5" into the Prefix box, that filter should ONLY list Canal Zone stations. Any others that appear in that search are logged improperly. (KZ5 was my first deleted country) 73, Mike Cizek W0VTT -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net On Behalf Of LEE HALLIN Sent: Monday, 1 August, 2022 01:57 To: N5KM - Kris ; dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Search For QSOs with Deleted Entities Hi Kris, I think I have a way to find QSOs with deleted countries but it involves some work. [Dx4win] Search help, cont'd.
Thanks to all for the helpful hints! I had to go with a new logging program, because the one I had been using - "Log Windows" - would not run on anything newer than Windows XP and also because the program did NOT like the year 2021! So all of my "old" QSOs - year 2020 and before, are in my old logging program, all 60,.279 of them Log Windows was a very easy to use and "well behaved" program. There was never any problem with it crashing, other than locking up once or twice. But it did not recognize the 10 newest DXCC entities and I kept a separate "log book" in the program for those. Dmitry - UA3AGW - I see in my old program that we have had 4 QSOs - 3 on 20 meters and 1 on 80 meters. All CW. By the way, to date I have had 2,930 QSOs with Swedish stations, with 749 unique call signs. I have made this as accurate of a count as I can and removed the obviously "busted" call signs. I am of Swedish descent and was lucky to have spent 3 weeks in Sweden in the fall of 2019. My good friend Rune, SM5COP was kind enough to let me stay with him and provided the needed translations & transportation needs for me! 73 de Brad, N9EN Bluff City, TN __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] Search for all QSOs with a "Frequency" filled in?
I am probably missing something obvious! Using DX4WIN v9.0.9.1259, I did a F8 and, in the Frequency field, tried entering an "*" or "!" but it beeped at me. It acts like only numeric digits (and .) are acceptable. Is this true? This isn't a "show stopper" since I can export to a .DXQ file and then scan the Frequency field for non-blanks. Was just wondering if there is a simpler way! [Dx4win] Search External Data Problem
I just upgraded to a new computer with windows 8.1 and all I get when I click on search external data is "call not found". I am using the Buckmaster HamCall disk loaded on my hard drive. Many here have asked for Paul to implement reading "XML" data from QRZ.COM. Then we might be able to get more fields populated. Today, Radio Amateur Callbook ("Flying Horse") has the best set of data in the Callsign/Mgr Lookup (F3) window. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Search external data...? QRZ.COM
Luis, In my setup the actual info shown in the CALLSIGN/MANAGER LOOKUP window comes from the RAC/Flying Horse CD data. I installed the RAC program to C:\program files\Radio Amateur Call Book (Actually the RAC install setup did it when I ran the RAC install program). In the EXT DATA setup window the very top slot has a drop down menu. The second item is: Flying Horse CDRom. Next to that is a slot to show where the Flying Horse CD info is located (C:\program files\Radio Amateur Call book in my case). I can open the RAC window from my desktop anytime with no interaction with DX4WIN. But when using DX4WIN the RAC info is also available directly to the CALLSIGN/MANAGER LOOKUP window. So what happens is the address from the RAC CD is shown in the CALLSIGN/MANAGER LOOKUP window. But then if I click on the callsign as I explained before the QRZ.COM page will open for additional info. I find that qrz.com has better more up to date info than the RAC. I also have the GOLIST installed on my C: drive so I also get QSL info from C:\GOLIST\GOWIN32.DLL. One more point. Right click anyplace inside the CALLSIGN/MANAGER LOOKUP window. A menu will open up. Be sure that there is a check (tick mark) besides AUTOMATIC UPDATE so the window will track the call currently in the main logging window. Otherwise it stays stuck on the last callsign that was entered. I think having AUTOMATIC UPDATE selected is the default but it won't hurt to check. Good luck Alan, K7ACZ We have had QSO's in 1999 (as K6ACZ) and 2009. I have been to Lisbon and Fatima. Very nice. And I greatly enjoy Mateus wine. [Dx4win] Search by QSL Date
In Dx4win you can search in a combined way. That is you can press f8 and search for a specific qsl date, method direct and cnfm y to see how much qsos confirmed when you sent a qsl direct at a specific date. But... As Jim and others said, if you search for qsls that have sent in older dates you will get results with newer dates also. You always can go to logbook window and do this under report editor add the qsl date in logbook window. After that right click, choose "write to a file" and you will get a .csv file. import it to excel and sort with the column you want. [Dx4win] Search by filter
It seemed to me that DX4WIN would allow you to search on any thing possible by hitting F8, selecting any of the data boxes, filling in a value, then hitting return. This has worked well for me when sorting out data. However, I have just discovered it does NOT work with the QSL DATE box. I was checking the status of some QSL cards I sent out. I wanted to see if and how many replies I got from a batch of labels I made about a month ago. I hit F8, went to the QSL DATE box, and filled in the date I had printed the labels. I expected to have a sort of the stations I printed up labels for on that one date in question but instead I just got a lot of random results that didn't match any thing. When I hit F8 I only placed a date in the QSL DATE window, no other entries were made. I made sure I had the date correct by looking up one of the stations in question to affirm the date I printed the labels. Is this a bug or should I not expect to be able to see how many labels were printed on a particular date? 73 ___ Alan Zack Amateur Radio Station K7ACZ Official USCG Auxiliary Comm Station Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Delta Rocket Quality Engineer, The Boeing Company, Retired Aviation Chief Warrant Officer, U.S. Coast Guard, Retired --- From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Aug 27 06:58:07 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Wayne King) Date: Mon Aug 27 06:58:50 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] QSL DATE BOX W/ F8 Filter?? I always work some new prefixes in DX contests. Right now it looks as though I have to go through the log manually, keeping an eye on the prefix window, to determine whether or not I've confirmed the prefix on a particular mode. This isn't normally a problem, but when you work 1000+ QSOs in a weekend it can get time consuming. Is there a way I can ask DX4Win to go through, say, my ARRL DX CW test QSOs and tell me which of those QSOs have callsign prefixes that I haven't yet confirmed on CW? I've read a number of the questions regarding filtering but am not sure any of them pertain to this situation. 73, Joe KQ3F

Hi Juha, Not sure I understand your question fully, but 2 answers: 1) If you know what state to look for; then of course you can search (F8) on the state info (ie CT, NH etc). You can also qualify this with band / mode etc. 2) from the report, you see the flag showing it is worked (W). you can double click these, and the qualifying contact shows in the QSO window 73 Dave G3NKC -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Juha Rantanen Sent: 16 December 2004 17:32 To: Dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Search help Hi, I have a few old QSO's that are band points and they show up in reports as worked and I don't know what they are. Bob, I was just playing around with this. I think it doesn't work the way you are expecting. In the Preferences under Ext Data you need to have http://www.qrz.com/ in the Callsign lookup address field and http://www.qrz.com/callsign?qsl= in the QSL Manager Lookup Address field. When you hit F3 with a call in the Callsign field it brings up a Callsign / Mgr lookup window. The callsign you are looking up is in the Callsign field. Pressing enter opens a browser window to QRZ.com and will look for a QSL Manager for that callsign. Since W3PT does not have a QSL manager it returns QSL Contact information Not Found. If you put W3PT in the QSL Mgr field of the Callsign / Mgr lookup window and press enter it will bring up the address from QRZ.com. Try placing DU3NXE in the Callsign window and pressing F3. It will open the Callsign / Mgr lookup window. Then press enter to open a browser. It will show the QSL manager as W3HNK. Hope this helps. 73, Alan N5NA Bob Marzari wrote: > Does anyone have a cure for this? > > -Original Message- > From: Bob Marzari [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Sunday, October 03, 2004 1:49 PM > To: Dx4win > Subject: Search external data problem with 6.02 > > > Hi! [Dx4win] Search Question
I'd like to search my log to find DX QSOs that I've marked for labels that have US QSL managers, so I can print those out by themselves. How do I set up that search? Thanks in advance, Eric W3DQ Washington, DC
[Dx4win] search wih QSL date
Franki, The date search range is a Preferences setting -- you must have set it for "exact" in 5.03 and it is set for "range" in 6.02. [Dx4win] search wih QSL date
Hello to all In v5.03 I could hit F8, fill in a (valid) date in the 'QSL date' entry field, and this would give me all QSO's I processed for QSL purposes on that particular day, no more, no less. Now, in v6.02, if I do the same, the search results in ALL QSO's with any 'QSL date', FROM the given date UP TO . So I get the QSO's processed between the date entered and today. I'd like to do it the old way, is that still possbile? I've been browsing through the menus and preferences but can't find anything related. All input appreciated! 73 / DX de Franki ON5ZO

Kent, #1 Regarding the 10-10 numbers... the capability you seek is already included in DX4WIN. I record 10-10 QSOs, and am able to use the custom 10-10 report to list unique numbers. See eports, ustom, isting worked, "TenTen" #2 WAS - Sounds like you are really asking for two things: #2.a For a listing of all non-confirmed states, see eports, WAS, Listing #2.b To see a list of all QSOs (callsigns) that you _could_ send a card to in order to confirm a state, run the report indicated in #2.a, then double click on the gird for the state/band in question. The callsigns will appear in the indow ogbook window. -larry k8UT 10-10 #2582 - Original Message - From: "Kent Henneuse" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 6:08 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Search Questions > There are two searches I would like to be able to do > but I am not sure how to do them in DX4WIN. > > 1) Determine all the unique callsigns that match a > query like "*10-10*" in the Notes for callsign window. > By unique I mean list each callsign only once in the > resultant list. [Dx4win] Search Questions
There are two searches I would like to be able to do but I am not sure how to do them in DX4WIN. 1) Determine all the unique callsigns that match a query like "*10-10*" in the Notes for callsign window. By unique I mean list each callsign only once in the resultant list. I would not need the band and date info just what is static to the callsign. If you are not sure why this query is useful think about looking up all the different 10-10 or Elecraft radios you have worked for their CC awards. 2) Find all the callsigns that I have not mailed a QSL card to that would help me gain an award like WAS CW. Could even be a list of the just the states I have not confirmed. I ask about the WAS because I know that my search will grow larger once I start after DXCC. Jim, This works already in 5.03 except it is broken when you are adding in real-time mode and using a radio. This is fixed for the next release. Don, Note that a double-click in a summary window is actually sets a special QSO filter that filters all QSOs for that band and generic mode. When the logbook window is open, you will see all QSOs that have been filtered. Don, If I want to see the QSO's I have QSL'ed but not confirmed I do a search by putting a date in the QSL Date box and N in the confirmed box. The result is all the QSO's QSL'ed after that date that I have not confirmed. You may have to set QSO Date in Preferences to Greater Equal for that to work. 73, Alan N5NA - Original Message - From: "Don Prater" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2003 16:39 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Search Features > I would like to be able to search on the "Country" attributes. [Dx4win] Search bug?
Tried to do a search in 5.01 just now for D90CCKD, which was a weird HL special call. DX4WIN didn't find it, but when I accessed it by date, there it was with the prefix properly attached. I'm wondering if maybe the format violated some rule in the search routine (I use exact searching). 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the World HF Contest Station Database at www.pvrc.org

I've just imported a couple of contest logs and want to label-for-printing new countries for DXCC. My question is how do I search for new countries, regardless of mode or band (I am nowhere near a separate mode or 5B DXCC submission!) Thanks in advance, Eric W3DQ Washington, DC
