Callsign?

What version of DX4WIN? IC-775 appears to be supported in version
9.04 and probably earlier versions.

Are you sure your interface hardware is good, i.e. does the radio work
with any other software?

You should pick a FIXED baud rate in the radio (not AUTO), and turn
Transceive OFF. And make sure the hex address code is the default for
the 775 (46h)

Re: [Dx4win] (no subject) [ IC-775 DSP CAT Following ]

2018-11-03 Thread kenneth leon

For Bill Murrell SERR,

My IC-775 DSP follows CAT very reliably with my Windows 10 laptop (Toshiba
Satellite).

Download IC-775 DSP User Manual from Icom and follow Ch 5 SET MODE
instructions. Push SET button and hold 2 seconds to select H-set mode. Next,
press Up/Down button to get "Ci -baud" and rotate Tuning Wheel to get 1200
value. Press Up/Down to get "Ci -Addr" and rotate Tuning Wheel to get 46h.
Press SET again to return to main frequency window display.

In DX4WIN, select File, Preferences, and Radio tab. Choose ICOM 775, Address
46, Baud Rate 1200. Check mark in Default box.

Check your computer's Windows Device Manager and choose available Com port.
Check marks in DTR and RTS boxes.

Click File, Save, and Exit.

Restart DX4WIN and confirm if CAT following. Let me know if successful.

My personal email is OK for questions or follow-up. Good luck, and

Hello all,

Hello all,

Have recently installed a IC7600 and a connection established between the
TRX and the laptop with XP via USB ports.

Both DX4WIN as N1MM works ok .
When I start DX4WIN , then flashes the VFO frequency readouts of both of VFO
A and B .
Does anyone have any idea what the reason of this is and what to do?

In the DX4WIN window 'Freq (khz)' no readout, only a few seconds by pressing
F9 and than disappear.

Thanks in advance

Re: [Dx4win] (no subject) VFO A/B Flash

2013-09-13 Thread Dan Violette
I think this is an ICOM software (CI-V?) issue. DXlab does it to an IC756
also at the club station. I have never had it happen with my Kenwood.
Seems to be a command that connects the ICOM radio to the software causes
things to switch to the sub-VFO for a couple seconds and then back. With a
SteppIR hooked up and the alternate VFO on a different freq/band, the
controller starts changing the antenna and then reverses and changes back
when main VFO comes back.

Downloading the LoTW Report file I get the mode in this file listed as DATA

On using the LoTW Import from LoTW I do not get any matches for the contacts.

Looking at LoTW WSOs not found the chart shows the modes as CW while the
logging shows DATA as logged and submitted. The potential matches is flagged
 as JT65.

Since they are not logged as DATA in DX4WIN, there is no match.
Change all the QSOs so that the mode is JT65. Then export them all
and upload to LoTW again. The next time you download, you should get
the matching confirmations. LoTW knows that JT65 QSOs count as DATA.

MORAL of the story: don't change a real digital mode to DATA. Don't
change SSB to PHONE. You'll run into problems just like this.

Yes, that should work. The only issue might be the registration of

Uninstall won't remove your .DXL file, your key file, or your .INI

Re: [Dx4win] (no subject)

2010-03-10 Thread Mel
This is an area Paul needs to address. We have the same problem with
modes hard-coded into the program. I have made a few contacts with the
ROS digital mode and no way to log them properly. If Paul ever gives up
on DX4Win its shelf-life is going to be short.

No you don't want to do that. Go to your subscription page (link at
bottom of every e-mail) and either change to a digest (less frequent
e-mails) or turn delivery off. That way you can still post and you can
always turn it on again later. Yes you can also browse the archives. use
the links at the bottom of every e-mail.

Yes, the URL for accessing the list archives is here:

http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win

Note that there are also searchable archives for DX4WIN on a different server:

  http://www.mail-archive.com/dx4win@mailman.qth.net/

Like Mel, I recommend the digest option to cut down on mail.
Otherwise it might take you a while to find out about program and data
file upgrades.

You might also consider learning how to set up filters in your E-mail
client. That way all incoming DX4WIN messages can be filed into a
separate folder, and won't distract you from important messages in
your inbox.

???

Make sure the first line in DX4Win.TCP is

LOCALCC User,localhost:7300

OR

LOCALCC User,127.0.0.1:7300

Assuming you haven't changed the port number in AR Cluster.

The command line for the connection, when I'm using the AR program is

 VE7CC CC-Clusterlocal-TCP.127..0.0.1:7300

I believe that this is correct, but with the old age.

If you have the latest TCP file from:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/cluster/

That Local line is already there, it's about the 4th one down.

In DX4WIN 8.x, if you double-click on an entry further down the list,
it will be moved to the top for next time.

What I would really like to see is a way for the user to modify tables
such as Mode and QSL method. This would free Paul of having to issue an
update every time a new mode is developed.

Re: [Dx4win] (no subject)

2009-06-04 Thread David, K2DBK
I'm sure there are many ways to do this, but when I use an alternate
method, I'll typically use the Other option and either put a note in
the Notes for this QSO or sometimes put the additional info in the QSL
manager field (if it's very short; that field has a pretty limited length).

However, it would be nice to have website and email as options in
the dropdown, with possibly a dedicated field for those that gets
remember on a per-callsign basis (like the manager info).
